Reliving My Childhood: SNES!

~Chaos~

blog-0584293001355892174.jpgSo recently I got my hands on a system that can bring back those cherished childhood memories in a brutally amazing wave, the SNES! I have my three favourite games for it, Yoshi's Island, Super Mario World, and Super Mario All Stars.

It's been fun playing those games that I truly loved as a child, and still do! Each game has it's own style, they honestly never bore me, I will always enjoy them.

But out of the three, I have to say that Yoshi's Island is my favourite, I fondly remember playing it with great enjoyment, with my cousin too, it has a place in my heart, and nothing can replace that.

The SNES will always live on! It's a classic.

Ah, nothing like the joys of experiencing the unspeakable sensation that is nostalgia. And especially with a unique entertainment medium such as video games, the possibilities are endless.

I'm more than happy to know that you are fully enjoying the system. I personally think the Super Nintendo was one of the greatest systems of all time (beats out the mighty Sega Genesis ever so slightly). One of the many, many elements of gaming that make me wish I was born during that time, when the now-classic games was then-new, so I could see the evolution of one of the world's greatest industries from the start.

As for the games, all amazing classics. SMW was the game that revolutionized platforming, and its sequel, Yoshi's Island, was in a league of its own; spawning off the epic platforming charm that made SMW such a legend. Both are technically part of my childhood, as I played the GBA remakes (Super Mario Advance 2 and 3, respectively) growing up.

As for SMAS, I'd say it's great in the sense of it being a then-modern makeover of the four original Mario games. Needless to say, it must've took a heck a lot of data to put in the SNES cartridge. Though, that could be saying the potential of an SNES cart is equivalent to four times that of an NES cart. But who knows. It's a good game anyways.

In conclusion, I end this long-winded comment by saying I hope you enjoy your nostalgic experiences to the fullest potential, and never forget the priceless memories you have had in your past years.

Man I've been sitting her blogging about reliving my GameCube days and you're here on my next step, the SNES!

The SNES/Genesis era had to be my favorite era of gaming. I don't know what it is about games, but ever since they've moved to 3D rendered ultra-graphics, they seem very shallow. Of course there are major exceptions. but the SNES is probably my favorite system of all time.

The games you have shown above alone can pretty much account for half my childhood. Seriously, I spent YEARS playing Super Mario World alone, but Yoshi's Island was the first game I beat (I didn't understand the save feature, so World was tough to beat in one sitting for a little kid).

I didn't play much of the SNES library sadly until I grew older and discovered  emulation. I got to play classic titles that I missed like Super Metroid, Link to the Past, Chrono Trigger and FF6 and of course Earthbound (my favorite RPG series ever).

Though going back to games like Yoshi's Island or Donkey Kong Country just doesn't feel the same on an emulator. So I plan on making myself a SNES library in the near future of all my favorite titles!

Oh and props to the game you have in the console! Yoshi's Island is my personal best game ever!

YES!!! LONG LIVE THE SNES!

I love those three games, and have them as well.

The Snes is my second favorite system, next to the N64.

I gotta say, I love both the SNES and N64 the same, I grew up with both systems, I don't favor one over the other!

Well, I think there are more great games on the SNES than the N64 from what i have seen, but there are just those few games like Ocarina of time, Majoras mask, Donkey kong 64 and Mario 64

Don't you dare forget Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye 007, Star Fox 64, Kirby 64, Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, Pokémon Stadium, etc... The 64 truly stood the test of time and fared well against it's competitors (well, mostly the PS1 since the Sega Saturn was pretty much a bust).

Home to some of the most iconic and historic video games on one system, the N64 is one of the greatest consoles of all time, and definitely one of my personal favorites.
