There were some amazing episodes of the show, and some bad ones but not too bad, Season 5 I think, had Weird Al's aka Cheese Sandwhiches first appearance.

I feel like it is the hipster thing of 'Eh, the old stuff was soooooo much better'. I mean, liking the older stuff more is perfectly fine, but the show has not dropped in quality like some say. I think the show is doing perfectly fine. Yeah, season 6 has some episodes I frigign hate, but it has even more episodes that I love. That is a win in my book.

People have a nostalgic love for season two and one. Especially since those seasons were "the golden age" of the fandom. (Whatever that means, but I've heard it regularly used.)

That's exactly the nonsense I mean. Seasons 1&2 were not the "golden age" they were the beginning of a much larger and rapidly growing thing that still keeps going now. If someone's gonna cut out 4/6 seasons and call only the beginning a golden age, that's pretty shallow in terms of what all else there is to see in the show. I think a lot of them just can't handle a little disappointment once in a while. I've had plenty of episodes where I've been not as entertained, but they're only one or two in a season tops.

If any of them actually enjoyed the fandom, they'd get off their fusspot thrones and actually watch the rest of the show, rather than ignoring 2/3's of the entire series and then complaining about things they likely haven't even taken the time to watch. There's a whole lot of really great episodes they're missing out on. xD
