My coffee shop just lost their best customer. I'm not supporting twisted people.

So I have been going to this coffee shop since mid 2013. I have had issues with them over the years and slowly and slowly I have been trying to avoid it. But the problem is I can't find the coffee of that caliber in any local store... I only drink organic, fair trade and clean coffee. I am not doing this to be pompus or arrogant I am just saying I love coffee and I have had to put up with owners who not only lie to their customers about when they roast their coffee, but also owners who overcharge for food on many occasions. You're asking.

"Why would you support them to begin with?"

-I had friends who worked there and now they're fired.
-The coffee is quality for the price
-Habit I guess.

But after their POS chef defended the DAPL(Dakota Access Pipeline), saying that 'cheaper gas and food are important at the expense of the ecosystem and indigenous peoples's land.. I said.

"F**k it! I'm done here!"

This guy wasn't polite either. He is literally their 7th chef, no joke, they keep firing people like they use paper towels. This dude displays bad temper and trash talk to customers in public, I'm shocked he has been there for 8 weeks. And he has the nerve to be such a scumbag defending the oil industry who loves draining his bank account, when there is energy we can substitute for oil. No wonder people still take voting seriously, when you have losers and idiots like this guy influencing most naive people into such illogical decisions.

So I assume you walk or ride a bike everywhere you go? I worked in the oil industry and I met a lot of hard working, nice people. They bust their asses so people, who have no clue how the economy works, can talk about how magic unicorns and happy feelings will power our trucks and planes.

So hydrogen powered cars exist.....Lets not use them. I don't care if they have feelings and care about money which doesn't exist anyways. F'em I'm sorry. Oil business have been caught red handed all the time silencing breakthroughs. Even the nuclear industry with their proposal for thorium power can't do a dam thing. The energy has always been there. If you want an oil infested planet, have at it man.

Just calculate how much hydrogen you would need, and how much production and plants, and what byproducts occur during their production, etc. Until you know a problem inside out how can you be sure about anything?

Imagine oil companies being eradicated knowing a kitchen sink will power your car. Patents for hydrogen cars have existed for over 20 years. Stan Meyer was the first and he even got a Pentagon deal that no ever heard of again. And in 2010 in South America, a guy powered his bike with tap water. I like how we're playing 'make believe' that we need these oil frackers when really they should be executed for the damage they caused on wars and civilian or other isolated natural areas.

I mentioned Thorium( which is alternative, but no easily accessible obviously) things are really bad when even the nuclear industry has to back down from oil companies. Elon Musk is scum for over pricing his Tesla brand on top of sweeping under the rug, the accidents and hazards of owning those cars. Every car mechanic and electrical engineer I have talked to, had nothing but awful things to say about Musk and Tesla.

We clearly are not in the realm of rational thought or conversation. A kitchen sink can power a car? Frackers "should be executed"? I was a fracker, should I be executed? Clearly irrational thinking.

A simple knowledge of the law of conservation of energy renders water powered vehicles impossible. I have an advanced physics degree, I know something about energy. Whether or not other technologies exist is irrelevant. The fact remains that the world world not run without oil. Could some percentage of it be replaced with other technologies? Sure. Do oil companies make money? Yes. But there are a lot of mom and pop oil companies. I have worked for them. They own only a few wells. But is there ever a hatred for "small oil?" Furthermore, pipelines are the most logical way to transport oil. Trains can derail, trucks crash, and tankers spill. Pipes can be shut off when leaks are detected.

The irrational and anti progress minded hatred for oil is irrelevant. What we have hear is a classic case of, for lack of better words, first world privilege. Where a person can have the luxury of drinking "clean" coffee (which is just another band wagon that people can jump on to make themselves feel good) while taking for granted, even denigrating, the very things that give them that first world status. How many diesel trucks were used in the delivery of your "clean" coffee? How many degrees removed does the use of oil need to be to be declared acceptable?

Such a person views the world as black and white, with virtuous heroes and evil villains There are no shades of gray with real world subtleties. Things are judged good or bad, depending on what side of the liberal divide they lie. Much like witch hunting, people will twist logic in order to find a chain of evil that links the issue at hand with something.

How far down the chain does the evil travel? The oil company CEO, the share holders, the companies that service the oil well, the truck drivers that deliver the sand, the medic who works on the well site, the cook at the camp, the cashier at the gas station who served the dirty coffee to the fracker? Tell me what I need to due to atone for my sins.
