I'd definitely want to be a Pony over having a Pony in reality. I mean, having a pony as a pet would be cool and all, but actually being one would be so much cooler. Preferably a Pegasus. Haha.

After I drew and colored it in I realize, that my pink pony resembles Fluttershy, but has the colors of Pinkie Pie. This was completely by accident, but I LOVE her.

Why have one pony friend that will probably feel incredibly out of place in a world of humans, when you can move to Equestria and have lots and lots of pony friends while also being cute and fluffy yourself (with the possibility of magic or flight on top of it)?

If you get to look anywhere as glorious as the "be one" pony in the drawing, that's a huge plus.

For the case of owning a mlp: Of course, they wouldn't feel lonely. There's a lot of bronies out there and I strongly believe there would be pony play-dates. Besides, think of how much more EPIC Bronycon would be if you brought your pet mlp! Hay, I'd probably own more than one!

For the case of being: Hay Yes, I want to lift things with my magic horn, or fly and control weather, or have a freaking green hoof (I swear I have a dead thumb because I kill practically any plants I get). If I could be my OC that would be both awesome and terrible. Awesome because I can open a portal to the dream realm when I eat candy. Terrible because Princess Sunbutt, Princess Moonbutt, Princess Cadence, and Princess Twi told me I can't have candy because I can open a portal to the dream realm, until I've learned to control it.

Pros for both.

Given how they're, you know, civilized aliens instead of actual animals, I don't think "pet" would be very plausible at all.

damn, this is a tough one that im have been debating since the end of 2013 (the day i bacame a brony) on 1 hand, you could (quite possibly) be ur OC in the world of ponies, living out ur day to day life as ur OC would, on the other hand u could be u but have ur very own pony in the human world .... lets take what we already kno into considuration here before i blert out my oppinion on this subject .....

now lets start with the obivious point, if we were to become our OCs, we would act, walk, talk, associate and be who we wanted our OCs to be basically (so if u kept it realistic like me, then u will be realistic, but if ur god like mary sue black and red alicorn with robo wings and kills ponies then well, thats how u would be ...... but i digress on this topic as its not the point im making atm) then we would live out our lives we have created, but if we came in contact with other ponies, like to hug them or something, it would have to be ponies close to us unless u want it to be called a filly fooler in public, or if it was to a child, a foal fidler (im sure at this point we all know about what they all mean) and risk imprisonment from the royal gods themselves....

ok now lets look at the other side of the coin, and to do this i need to reference a certain clop fic called Twi and Me by hot sauce (im not going to go in full detail as i know it will get me banned, but the information i will use is ok for this forums .....) as we already know in several fics (my little dashie in particular but not limited to) we know that the average mare or stallion would be about the size of a dog .... maybe even a puppy for the fillys and colts, but we would (or at least i would, idk about other bronies and/or pegasisters in the fandom) in time, fall in love with our pony companion, maybe like a ship kinda way, get injured, and be at our homes with our pony companion at our side, making us feel better ..... (im gonna stop there because i dont wanna get banned)

both sides have some damn good points and some damn negative ones too, for example, if i became a pony, i would lose access to the real world and be cut off from my irl friends and (this one is different depending on the person, but because i cant live without red meat in particular, its a huge problem for me) become a vegatarian, if i had a pony companion irl however, i cant take her/him on walks because all my friends would think im a weirdo, and i would lose all respect from my step-father (not that i care for it, he wants me dead anyways, but thats not up for discussion in this fandom as that is a personal matter) and that wouldnt be good for business for me, as well as making sure the pony doesnt see u eating meat and u need to let them outside to do their business (we all know what i mean here) .... hmmm after all that, i still honestly cant answer the question ..... oh i hate it when my brain is like this

That's a lot of information to chew on, but you do make good points. I am also I lover of meats (God gave me canines for a reason and I am GOING to USE them), so that transition would be hard. Especially because MLPs eat hay fries and such, and I (If I were my OC) would be even more limited because I would be forbidden to eat sugary sweets. But if I had an MLP as a pet I wouldn't care a flying feather about what people think. I'm going to go on so many walks with her, play with her, and eventually the others will be jealous.

Think of having a unicorn as a pet. "Sweetie Belle, turn off the light please." *light off*.

Or a pegasus. Pegasus- "Dang, I wish Jane had a cloud as dark as she is looming over her and I hope it poured, ruining her trashy makeup." *Pegasus flys, gets cloud and wish is granted* "Thanks Dashie"

its really one of the harder questions to answer because what if, what if i became a pony and couldnt see my irl friends, what if i had a pony and wanted to be my OC (mine is fairly normal, has a job as a fashion designer, who lives just on the outskirts of Manehatten in a cute little cottage with just her mother [who is still to be identified as i havent figured out her character yet] and makes just enough money to get by ... she also shares similartraits to rarity and fluttershy, she loves helpingher friends out but can be alittle shy at first to meet them but not as extreme and the canon characters themselves) but u do have some other good points about y it would be a bonus to have a pony, my favourite would be twi twi, if im sick (which i am at the moment) i could ask for a cure and she could help me out .... oh why is this so hard to choose?
