Full Disclosure: I don't really like Rarity.(In the distance fans feint in angusih.) In fact I used too kind of hate her. But after reading several thingga from her fans my opinion has softend. I will talk more about this later in the review.

So we open on Canterlot Boutiqe. Or whatevr it's called. Seeing Sassy Saddles was a really nice touch. It's been two seasons since her last appearnce. She wasn't a big part of the episode, she literally appears for five minutes then isn't shown again. But it is good for continuity. Also I think this is the first episode Rarity has actually said out loud that she runs three seperate stores. Not a big deal. But it does show that writers do acknowledge that these charcters have grown and matured.

I can't really complain about Rarity's dramatization of realizing her sister was growing up. Hell they even made a reference too the feinting couch gag(which needs too come back). And I think the setup works well. Too be honest Rarity and Big Mac are really the only charcters you could do this scenario with. At least as far as an older sibling realzing a younger sibling was growing up without them. And they already did that with Brotherhooves Social.

I'm actually glad this was the setup for the episode. Running three dress stores(especially when you sew the dresses yourself) is a massive amount of work. And it would have been a wasted oppurtunity if the writers never used it to create conflict. This just shows me that the writers are still very much capable of coming up with new ideas.

Next up we have the CMC's first offical appearnce in season seven(they had a cameo in Flutershy Leans In and Celestial Advice). Their isn't much too say regarding the CMC in this episode. It would be more aproproate for Hard Too Say Anything, which I will do a review for when it is released in the U.S.

I am glad however what we do see of the CMC in this episode. I don't really remember Zipporwhil, but it is nice too see more continuity their. Bringing back an old charcter instead of creating a completley new one. I think that was a nice touch. And defintley shows that the writers pay attention. It was also interesting too see how the dynamics of the CMC have changed.

I don't really think it's fair too call Sweetie Belle the leader now. Undeniably Apple Bloom used too be the defacto leader of the group. But starting with season five things really changed. The CMC became more mature then they used too be. And after getting their cuti marks CMC episodes have changed. The former prior too season vie was that the CMC would try a bunch of crazy stuff too get their cuti marks. The new formula could have easily been the CMC try and help somone find the meaning of their cutie mark or try and help them get their cutie marks.

It's nice too see the writers didn't hit the easy button with the CMC. And as this episode shows the CMC have gotten a lot better helping someone find their cutie mark. They no longer operate under a strict leader. Instead they function as a group capable of sharing ideas and solutions without a leading figure too overule their ideas. Because of this they are able too go through several solutions rapidly and can solve problems quicker.

I also love the wall of CMC best hits. Not important story wise but defintley a nice touch. Helps drive home how much these charcters have grown. And Rarity's "Sorry dear you're tiny" line was absolute gold. After Rarity barges i  we are then treated too several moments of Rarity and Sweetie time. With Sweetie obiously being bored and Rarity totally oblivious too how her sister feels.

Now I will talk about the one frustration I had with this episode. After Sweetie has her outbusrt Rarity imediatley wants too reprimand her sister. She was completley oblivious(too a agrivating degree) about how her sister felt. I just felt like her ignorance was way overblown. Then again I suppose that was the point. That Rarity was so disconnected from Sweetie that she didn't even reize how much Sweetie has changed.

The moral of this episode is that as you get older your younger brother and sisters spend less time with you. And you can't change that. You will always have those memories, but you can't recreate them. So the solution is too create new memories with your siblings.

On a fundemental level I feel like this episode is about nostalgia. The bitter pain of knowing that which you once loved is gone, and yet the joy of remebring those days. I feel like this pretty relavent too the show itself. The charcters we have now are very differnt from their season one counterparts. Their still the same people, but they have matured and changed over the years. The earlier seasons are still good and memorable, but you can't recreate what they did. You can only move forward with the show.

That's all I have too say about this episode. And I am defintley starting too enjoy Rarity more. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this if you bothered too read it.

I forgot about that. Though it is hard too say how much time has passed since then. Espexially since it seems that the photos in Rarity's scrapbook were from when Sweetie was closer too being seven or eight. So about how old she was at the start of the show. I guess it is also a little weird that the CMC can help so  many people, when they still have too go too achool for at least eight hours a day.
