New MLP Spinoff idea if G4 comes back: Starlight and Trixie

Recently, something popped into my head in terms of a "What if MLP G4 came back years later?"  The idea that I had focused more on two of its characters: Starlight Glimmer and Trixie.

The concept puts them more as a comedy duo like Laurel and Hardy, Abbott and Costello, Pinky and the Brain, Cuphead and Mugman, or even Bulk and Skull of Power Rangers.  The focus is more on the adventures of the unicorn duo and the dangers they would have to put up with, featuring all new villains, plus familiar foes like...

The Flim Flam Brothers

Garble the Dragon

Iron Will

Svengallop

Spoiled Rich/Milk

Gladmane

Maybe bring in the Pony counterpart of Abacus Cinch.

The musical themes would be a nod to Jazz music of the 30s and 40s.  Even more so, the voice cast would reprise their respective roles(Ex: Kelly Sheridan for Starlight, Kathleen Barr as Trixie, and Iris Quinn for Abacus Cinch)

What do you all think of this idea as a spin-off of MLP:FiM?

It's never going to come back.

Hasbro is moving on from it, and I doubt they will ever come back.

Explain Transformers: Devastation, a Transformers Video Game set in the G1 universe.

How do you know that?

How do you know they don't want to keep the sure thing on retainer in case G5 flops?

1. It was made over 30 years after G1 ended.

2. It remains the only real G1 Transformers thing they have done since. 1 game made after 30 years, they didn't start making new Transformers episodes for G1 or anything.

Statistically, that's very very very very rare. There are many reasons why it will 99.9% likely never happen:

  1. It was made clear from the leaks that Faust didn't leave on great terms. Hasbro clearly wants to distance from her. Not to mention her reputation in the industry is sort of sinking as well.
  2. When shows make a reboot it's NOT common for them to revert back to the previous gen when the reboot flops. Statistically, it doesn't happen often.
  3. G5 isn't really guaranteed to flop.
  4. Reverting back to past gens after a flop usually hurts sales because a lot of fans will see it as cheap and pathetic. Can't make people like the new thing? Don't know how to make good new content? Go back in time and hope to grab them with nostalgia. The nostalgia market is kind of drying up because too many people are doing it.
  5. They've already spent money on Gen 5 and by the time it comes out they will have invested millions. They are not going to throw that money in the toilet. If Gen 5 fails they likely will just make a Gen 6 come out faster not just go backward.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but you're kind of counting on something that is really really really unlikely.
