First day back at school, first day without my trusty backpack. Instead, I decided to use my new Derpy mailbag from WeLoveFine. I expected ridiculous amounts of spaghetti...

 

Well, for the most part the day went without incident. My friend Theo (who IS a closet brony and just doesn't realize it. He knows more about the fandom than I do) gave me some friendly grief over it during first period math. I managed to keep the pony emblem relatively covered until lunch. Then my female friend saw me covering it and said out loud "IS THAT A PON-" but I managed to shut her up in time. She walked away laughing with another friend of ours.

 

After school, while digging through my locker, Theo walked by with one of his friends and said "Look at this horsefucker's new bag". So the friend looked at it, looked at me and said "I'm walking away now." And turned around and left.

 

The worst came from my sister, who I'm pretty sure thinks I'm gay. Like I care what she thinks, honestly. I've tried to get her to watch the show once or twice, but she is fairly adamant against it.

 

Regardless, my first public display of pony-love went much better than expected, and I suspect much better than others' stories. Perhaps the coming week will prove me wrong, or maybe not. Who knows? :lol:

Aw, you got the Derpy mailbag? I want one... lol. Good luck with future anti-brony encounters. If anyone insults you or Derpy, throw a muffin at them and run. :D

I have a Derpy mailbag too. At first I wasn't sure what I'd be using it for, but now I take it with me whenever I leave the house. What's not to love about a flippin' huge messenger bag with a pony on it? :)

Sounds like your first day with public pony merch went...well. :P Some playful ragging is to be expected. Just be confident, don't let them get to you, and make it clear they're not getting to you. That will stop about 90% of ragging. Most else can be brushed off with a simple "whatever." Worked for me with my Derpy hoodie. ;)

 

As much as I would like to have a Derpy bag, I really don't have use for one at the moment. However, I do plan on buying a shit-ton of buttons for my flight bag when my Hot Cash kicks in. Still though...*grabs pony wish-list*

 

And remember, if life gives you pocket-spaghetti, pour some sauce on it, sprinkle on some parmesan cheese, and make a dinner out of it. ;)

I got similar treatment at the mall when I bought a pony shirt and wore my new laniard with all the pins I got attached.

Update on 'no-one noticing':

Yesterday, my good friend Josh saw the bag and laughed it off as me being me. Later, he looked at my laptop and saw one of the two folders I have on my desktop, obviously called PONIES. He looked at me and said "Oh my God, you really are a brony then?" I nodded, and he didn't really take a stand on it. He didn't treat me any differently, though! And I got to explain to him the beauty that is Fallout: Equestria.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have today. I was walking through the hallways when my large and imposing friend Elias came up from behind me and pulled on the strap of my bag. In the middle of a crowd of people he says "Did you know you're bag is FUCKING GAY?"

I stopped, looked him right in the eye and said "Yes. Yes I do." And kept walking. I dealt with that situation well, yes?
