You know... no you don't... or do you?... I was at the movies with my brother watching the Hobbit. We arrived a half hour earlier. I got into talking with this nice elderly lady and our conversation started going into driving ettiquete. She mentioned that she no longer drives and she takes the bus or walks. Apparently she's almost been hit crossing the street three times this year, and two the last. And i remember understanding her sadness that the world we lived in was a world built on sadness... and I had to tell this one time i was having a conversation with a friend.. and we were watching tv... and I just shook my head... in awe... He looked at me and said "What are you doing?" and I shook my head again and said "What are we doing?... We're telling ourselves everything is okay....

Well you see it's not okay... we're telling ourselves we need drugs for things we don't even have.... we're telling ourselves to keep drinking... we're putting it in our music... we're telling ourselves to do it in tv shows... and we're telling ourselves we're poisoning our own food.... we're telling ourselves we're giving ourselves vaccines that breakdown our dna... just like alcohol does... we're telling our children that 2+2=4... and that 2+2=5 as well... and I'm

telling the truth...

The commercials before the movie even had it in them... one of them actually was this very quote: "Experts say your children aren't living longer"... and another commercial actually said "Don't be afraid to misbehave...."

What we're doing is telling ourselves we don't love ourselves.... and we're telling ourselves that it's okay to do that...

I mean... I see a pharmaceutical commercial on tv try and convince you about a problem you most likely don't even have... and that it can bring on other symptoms... i mean... if you count the number of those symptoms... I can't say for sure but i would imagine that the doctor that knows about it gets paid from the pharmaceutical industry... my doctor once prescribed me another medication once since the one i was taking wasn't working well... so I get the bottle from my pharmacist and i asked him why it's the stuff i got last time and he said it was the exact same stuff just a different name... I was in disbelief but it was true... I couldn't help but feel betrayed... cause that was one person that is supposed to be an expert...

Back to the experts thing again... i mean.. what experts? I wouldn't want to be told my children (although i have none) are not going to live longer... Well that would lead to that dna thing I bet, but man, really... what the heck ARE we doing out there....? You wouldn't tell you kid to deliberately misbehave... but they're getting told to do it... and we're all saying it's okay to do that... and we wonder why people today have such short attention spans... we're using pesticides on our food that has chemicals that breakdown our dna... and i can't help but wonder... who makes these decisions?....

I tell you not that as the lady and I talked about it I could have shed a tear.... and wonder... the only people that can really save us is ourselves... and i couldn't help but feel that this lady was probably one of the most awake people i've ever met. She even tapped on her temple saying that she felt no one was even thinking today until she had met me... now I can't tell you how much I was holding back the tears cause i shed a few so i'm glad the theater was dark... but i tell you this... 2+2 really does equal 4. Not 5.
