I want a bloody frock coat!

longgone

As the title suggests, I really want a frock coat. For what purpose? Reenacting of course! Frock coats are epic! They come down to your knees and they're bring back memories of the olden days! Plus, lets face it, I'm sure anyone could look handsome in one of those.

"But HistoricallyInaccurate, why would someone spend up to $500 on a peice of wool?" When you're a reenactor, you'll understand these things. Why did that one guy spend some 12 million dollars for a box of twinkies? I know I got a bayonet and scabbard for christmas, but the selfish side of me will not rest until I have a cadet grey handmade frock coat in my hands!

"HistoricallyInaccurate, why would you want a cadet grey frock coat, you're a yankee!?" It pains me to say this..but...I've been forced to take up reenacting with a rebel unit due to my craving for living history! I'm....I'm...turning into them! Yesterday....I said winder ;_;. NOT WINDOW, BUT WINDER! Why! Why! DAMN YOU ANCESTORS, YOU'VE BEGUN THE CORRUPTION OF MY YANKEE MIND, BUT I SWEAR TO YOU, I SHALL NOT GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT! IF I GO DOWN, I SHALL GO DOWN SINGING THE BATTLE CRY OF FREEDOM

LONG LIVE THE UNION, DOWN WITH THE TRAITOR!

Coolio, I have SUNGLASSES from the CIVIL WAR! but one of the ear peices broke off :(

Lol, I just had the funniest image. You're walking down the street and some guy's selling some stuff. You pick up some junk and you ask "Where's it from"  to which the man replies "Imperial Russia, 1814" And you throw the stuff away, and make a face of utter disgust and go boil your hands to get the 'contaimination' off.

There's one similarity between the two governments.

They both had what I call 'Peasant militia'

Nothing better than determined, angry, freedom-fighting working people.

Imperial Age: A bunch of bearded men running around with knives, sickles, hammers, sledgehammers, bats, tree trunks, and firearms were a rarity with for those lads!

Soviet Age: They were so poor, at Stallingrad, half the soldiers got rifles, the other half got a clip of ammo!

"The man without the rifle follows the one who has the rifle! When the man with the rifle is killed, the man without the rifle picks up the rifle and shoots!"

That's what they told the soldiers after they boated them across the volga while being straffed and bombed by Stukas. Lovely is it not?

If you're in dire need of a frock coat but don't have the funds, buy a long black peacoat, paint the buttons and gauntlets gold, and add some gold accents with a sewing machine, if you have one.
