*spoilers* Goku v. Superman: I Call Humbug!

So I just watched ScrewAttack' s Goku vs. Superman Death Battle video with my friendly neighborhood anime club, and I had some things about the ending to rant about. Beware! Spoilers ahead.

1. First, this battle could not end in any way other than a tie. Here is why. As we saw, the fight would inevitably end in the destruction of the Earth itself. Neither of the heroes would allow such a thing to happen. Now assuming, as in the video, things got out of hand, and the Earth is destroyed, then either side would have to undo what had occurred by their usual means. If somehow Goku won, then he would have to find some other planet' s (probably Namek) Dragonballs to wish back the Earth and everyone on it...including Superman. If, as in the video, Superman won, he would have to fly backwards around what' s left of the Earth to turn back time, bringing back Goku, along with everyone else. Someone could argue that the flying around the Earth thing isn't canon, but if it' s not, then Superman is the real loser in this scenario because he killed everyone he loves. Also it' s a famous staple of Superman, much more so than many of the feats included in the analysis. So the fight would just restart and go on forever. If they left Earth to go to another planet like Namek or Tatooine (which is unlikely), then Superman would probably lose either because at least of their stars are red stars (as I am fairly sure is the case of my two examples, but don't quote me on that), or Superman would likely encounter one while travelling.

2. Superman conveniently ended up in the sun, taking on his strongest form possible. If such external sources of power are allowed, then there should be nothing stopping Goku from conveniently running into Vegeta and fusing. Sure that would be ridiculous, but so is what happened with Superman.

3. Superman had the unfair advantage of terrible writing. I think it would be more fair to limit Goku to DBZ, excluding GT, and limiting Superman to one established power level, like just making him the Superman from one major canonical work. Making Superman immortal, and undefeatable in the first place is a total cop out. It wasn't even a fight if the winner was predetermined.

4. What' s stopping Goku from leaving King Kai' s place to finish Supes off?

5. Batman would never have let things get out of hand like that, and no one questions the Batman...except the Riddler, I guess.

If you couldn't tell by the Star Wars references, even though these are legitimate questions to be raised, I'm not too serious. Except about the fifth one. No one questions the Batman.

Overall, it was a very well made, very well researched video which was fun, entertaining, and hilarious to watch. :)

If you watch the latest Sidescrollers episode, Chad [boomstick] explains a little more on why Super Man won. I didn't care either way, I just wanted a good fight which is what I got.

Honestly, I feel that Deathbattle's only purpose is to spark up fanboy nerdrage, even if some of their fights are legitimately hilarious(Rainbow Dash vs Starscream, Shadow vs Vegeta)

Besides, we all know Goku and Clark Kent would become complete bros and drop their fight to have a good beer and snack or thirty

I'm a fan of both, and while I like Goku better, Supes is just invincible by anyone in DB.

Even when they used Post-Crisis Superman, a much weaker version, Goku lost.

What I didn't like about the fight is that they used the Abridged dubbers. It was impossible for me to take Goku seriously with that.
