After peaking at $6,485,000,000 two years ago, Hasbro's revenue has dramatically dropped all the way down to $4,544,000,000 – an absolute record low since 2016.

Likely a result of their rabid attempts to cash in on everything they can get.

Hasbro made a complete mess out of Wizards of The Coast (funnily enough did it during the time when Dungeons and Dragons gained significant popularity thanks to Baldur's Gate 3), affected Magic The Gathering, which these days feels like it's all about collecting cards, not... you know, playing the game. A lot of people involved in WOTC's products (including me) retreated from them as Hasbro clearly cares little for us.

My Little Pony gen 5 despite a strong start was treated with lots of negligence, which ultimately prevented it from gaining any significant popularity. I have a feeling it's mostly the fandom that enjoys it and even there opinions are mixed due to limited budget dedicated to its quality.

Overall Hasbro is just making one disappointment after another. I feel like they've lost touch with their customer base, which appears to be a classic for modern entertainment companies. I hope eventually most brands will manage to gain independence from them, especially WOTC (and they can take ponies with them, PLEASE )

Yes, you are an optimist, sir. I would say much more categorically about the complete failure of G5.
But in general, on the topic, I hope that such financial drawdowns of Hasbro will force them to reconsider their strategy on many things, including MLP. I hope that this will heal their heads and they will return to the path that G4 (FiM) and Lauren Faust put them on.

They'll probably do that after March 2025, when Discovery Family's time is up with all the shows that are currently all under their oppression.
