Do what makes you happy.  You're an adult. It's your money, time, and your life. And if you aren't harming anyone, if you are a functioning member of society, then no one has the right to tell you what to do.
If they love doing things that "aren't childish", that's fine. But just because they found something they like, doesn't mean they have the right to dictate how you live.

I would love to own some toys and watch anime.

I know an elderly gentleman in his sixties who still enjoys playing happily with children 
we all know finding work these days is tough. But don't worry, if you've got a craftsmanship you can always make a living from it
