Writer's Block

Is this actual writer's block? I'm not sure.

From the classic description, writer's block is the dreaded blank page. Where the writer has run out of ideas.

Instead, I've got tons of bits and pieces. I've got pages of ideas, fragmentary scenes, characters, world-building theories, etc.

The problem is I can't seem to be able to force myself to concentrate on any of it. I'm just spewing it out on the page without any rhyme or reason. Not enough of any theme to assemble into a coherent story. It's like some form of ADD in written form.

I do have a finished MLP story, but it's sitting with my editor who's too frazzled herself to look at it right now. I guess that doesn't help, as it puts off 'needing' to get anything done, because I know it won't get properly proofread or edited any time soon.

That's different from mine. Right now, I have the problem of knowing what I want to happen in the story soon, but not how to get there in a way that makes sense and isn't rushed :/

Same with me. I randomly generate scene for a story, here and there, but find some difficulties on merging them together. :/

Ahhh! Replies! Unexpected! :)

@Evilshy: Yeah, my pacing is pretty poor as well. I tend to write *really* short stories, and have trouble stretching them out. The one I finished is four parts + epilogue at about 12,000 words. Which seems to be about a quarter of the length of what most of the fanfic writers would have for a four chapter story.

@Sky Warden: Yep. Truly random scenes over here. I've got one with Shining Armor, Cadance, Fancy Pants, Fluer de Lis, and Blueblood all playing coquet together at a garden party some time before the Canterlot Wedding. Discussing how Shining is being assigned to bodyguard Luna as she goes somewhere for something, and being teased mercilessly by the girls about how he's going to be so close to the dark mysterious Princess for an extended period of time. And yet, I've got *nothing else* around it. I don't know what to do with it. It's just a disconnected scene with no real plot or story.
