School Update and Art Supplies

Discovery Dream

So, the first week of school ended up going great! Everyone seems to be a whole lot nicer, and the teachers are great, too. I think it's gonna be a good year :)

I'm probably gonna end up making a blog to post my art and stuff. It isn't spectacular but I guess it doesn't suck too bad. Perhaps even stuff not on my deviantART like sketches. I think I'd benefit from having more supplies than a couple of number 2 pencils and a tablet, but good stuff isn't exactly cheap and I don't want to blow all of my money on art stuff. I must achieve a balance of money, split evenly between my needs.

...or I could blow it all on something stupid like normal.

Honestly, when I was your age I would blow all of my money on random crap I didn't need and I turned out fine so I'd say go for it. Of course, it really depends on what kind of image you want to do. If you're gonna do digital art, I'd say a tablet is fine but as of right now I don't have a job or anything so I can't afford a tablet and therefore can't confirm this. Art supplies are expensive, so if you want to do start say a water color painting on a giant canvas I really would have to say that you are going to have to plan ahead rather than just starting on it.

Of course I dunno I'm just rambling on here, not even checking what I am typing.

Well, I do digital art but I have a really hard time sketching with a tablet, so I draw them on paper and scan them in. I mostly wanted the stuff so I could make higher quality, easier to scan sketches.

If this is the case, you should probably invest in some good pencils and some decent paper or a sketch pad, which shouldn't be too much money at all.

On that note I have a couple hours left to draw cartoon horses for some group I'm in.
