All my life I've been labeled a weirdo for my interests and ways of thinking (to be more accurate, for daring to think at all). The only difference this time is that I've found allies. I'm no stranger to ostracization, so I can take whatever they care to throw at me. Out of care and concern for them I'll do my best to open their minds a bit; whether or not they like or become involved with the show, I at least want to inspire them to use their brain for more than it's autonimic functions. Most of the time it doesn't work out, and I'll leave them be if it doesn't.

Really, there's nothing called "normal". The standards are rather arbitrary really. Though I from what I gather normal is mean, median and mode, all in one. I mean, really, I think there's a severe lack of normal people out there. I mean, I've never seen one that's average in every aspect. Sure, there are some who are average in many aspects, but never fully average. Always something there. Either way, the people you complain about don't exist. I don't think there's a single person out there who wants everything to real. They must like some sort of fiction.

Bronium's got it right. Now, my jadedness over the course of three years has really opened my mind up to lots of things, including fiction, but I was involved in this kind of stuff from a young age, so it wasn't hard for me to starting watching the show and eventually embrace the fandom. MLP: FIM is not everyone's cup of tea, however; if you introduce it to them and they still do not enjoy it, oh well. To say you're weird for liking it is hypocritical, really; people have different tastes in different things, and FIM is what it is: a cartoon made for people all of ages to enjoy. It might not seem like it, because the majority of the people all like the same thing, creating a "group" of sorts (i.e, the "normal people), so it'd be nevertheless hard to cope with what's perceived to be accepted, unless you're that sort of person who can just shrug it off.
