Just a creative pastime I feel like sharing

I kinda already gave an inkling of it in the previous entry in this same blog. What I do is just sorta think about an alternate pony universe that's different from any of the established ones and even has its own lore, backstory, characters, etc. Maybe I'll make a separate blog for this in the future if this becomes a regular thing. Do note that this is more of a pastime instead of a project so I just go along as I please without any promises made to anyone. Not even myself

The setting is this village and the focus is on a certain family of earth ponies. There are unicorns and pegasi but I've yet to figure out how they really fit.

The family

The main characters, essentially. A family of 5 including the parents. Still wondering if I should make it an extended family household.

The mother: Her occupation isn't quite figured out or perhaps make her a stay-at-home mom. Her relationship with her children is an important aspect. She one of those character who always seem to know what what she's doing. When she has time and feels at peace, she'll play with her foals should the chance arises but also lets them play and explore on their own as well.

The father: He's a occupation and special talent is carpentry. His friendly and optimistic character could make just about anypony feel comfortable around him. Because he has a lot of friends, he knows quite a few other ponies who might be able to help him or his family out for tasks that he cannot cover himself and likewise, he too lends a hoof.

The son: The eldest of the three siblings. Approximately 10 years old. He wants to be just like his father and is in fact his apprentice. He doesn't particularly care about what his special talent is or isn't but he knows he wants to learn a lot from his dad who he admires. Even if carpentry doesn't turn out to be his calling, his dad can easily arrange other of his fellow craftsmen to take him in as an apprentice.

The first daughter: She appears the be 6 or 7 years old. Goes to school like others who aren't taking up apprenticeship. Likes to play outside and has an affinity towards plants and animals and likes to care care of them. Of course, this can come into conflict as some animals will chow down on the plants she takes care of. She likes to turn to her mom to talk about whatever's on her mind. Unlike her brother, her mom is the first person she turns to when she has a problem. Her mom also tries to educate her on the things she's interested in and tries to inspire her to seek out more and does so by taking her to the library to read or rent out books that are relevant to her interests at the time or go out for walks so that she could see a greater diversity of things.

The second daughter: The youngest -- 4 years old -- and definitely the shyest. Really can't stand being alone and prefers to stay with at least one of her parents at all times who usually turns out to be the mom. She tends to drift more into her own world rather than pursue what's around her like her older siblings. The way she behaves as well as her appearance make her seem sorta out of place. Though she, nor any of her siblings know it yet but she's an adopted foal.

If your interested in their design so far, unspoiler
