Physical Description

Sunset Shimmer has yellowish-orange skin, teal eyes, and fiery red and yellow wavy hair. She sports a black leather jacket with spikes, an orange crop-top with her Cutie Mark on it, a magenta skirt with a gray belt, and black combat boots. She keeps an orange pendant on her that grants her the ability to read minds. Her Cutie Mark is of a yellow and red yingyang sun.
Backstory

Sunset Shimmer was originally a pony in Equestria. She envied her mentor, Princess Celestia, yearning to become an Alicorn herself. She rushed through her studies and begged Celestia to give her wings. The princess turned her down and said she would never get what she wanted unless she made friends. Furious and impatient, Sunset Shimmer abandoned her studies and pursued her dreams in another world.

The world she was in contained no magic and thrived primarily on technology. Sunset had no idea how to survive in this world until she met her henchmen, Snips and Snails. They willingly obeyed her every command and taught her everything she needed to know about this world. With their help and her ability to manipulate everyone, Sunset reigned over the school. She ran unopposed as the Queen of every dance for three years and if anyone tried to stop her, they would regret their actions immediately.

Her power quest became all consuming the day she heard about the coronation of Twilight Sparkle. She became extremely jealous and hurt, wondering why Celestia coronated Twilight instead of her. One night, she returned to Equestria and planned to steal the crown. She nearly got caught but she managed to get what she wanted.

Sunset Shimmer was so close to getting what she really wanted. She only needed to win another dance, and that was too easy. That is, until she was met by some fierce competition thanks to Twilight. Unlike Sunset, Twilight had many friends to support her, so she won and nearly got the crown back for herself.

Infuriated at the unfairness of it all, Sunset managed to take the crown for herself and placed it on her head as she laughed maniacally. She waited for the power to course through her. It was almost too much as it sent power all throughout her all at once. It transformed her into a demon, complete with fangs, bat wings, piercing eyes, and hair that was literally on fire.

It seemed that Sunset got everything she wanted and now she could conquer Equestria for herself. Her plans were stopped, however, once the Humane 6 showed her the magic of friendship and love. Sunset’s demon form was stripped away and she was reduced to the pathetic girl she started out as.

With a lot of care and kindness, Sunset slowly re-adapted to the world and made it her goal to help others instead of herself. Whenever she saw someone struggling with who they were, she would show them how amazing they are and how they don’t need magic to make friends. Currently, Sunset is living the life of a normal high schooler; making good grades, rocking out in a band, and working at the sushi place at the mall (and sometimes saving the world in the process).

Personality

Sunset, in her lust for power, was originally very cold and aloof. She poured herself into her books and stopped at nothing to reach her goals, even if it meant hurting someone else along the way. Now, she has learned to be kind, forgiving, and thoughtful to others. She will do anything to help others whether that be with encouragement or sitting down and talking to them. Sunset is also very smart and driven and always strives to pursue her dreams. This time, she considers others before she takes action.

At times, she is quick to anger and gets frustrated easily. Under the right conditions, she will take her anger out on others and often feel very guilty afterwards. Although she has worked to become better, she still struggles at time to keep her cool.
