Yaaay! Being a pagan, my mom got me into the tradition of celebrating Soltice, or the first day of winter. It's my favorite holiday by far, since our tradition is going strait home after school, catching up on some precious sleep, then heading to my favorite cousin's house. There, we pass out the secret Santa gifts, and all of us kids have a big, old, stuffed animal fight and eat my mom's delicious Irish stew. Eventually, we go back home and light candles for everyone in the family. Whoever falls asleep first gets their candle put out, then the second, and so on and so forth until there's only one person awake. That person then writes their name on a slip of paper, along with a victory proclamation, and does whatever they want until they fall asleep. I usually win this contest, since I'm a huge indomniac, but I always have a bit of competition from my brother. Never my sister, though. She's not a night owl like us.
