  1. FIRST A WARNING: I know this can be sensitive to some so I'm gonna try to make it as friendly as possible. It's war, I know, nothing is gentle but I'm gonna try to be as light with what I say.

Now, It's been such a long time since I've been on here... So I feel like coming back sharing a story my brother (who is in the USAF) was told by a commander that was on a mission. And I thought in some way this might be a good topic to go ahead and share old or new war stories. I felt like sharing this one because something was watching this group. And thank those who have to go through the hard ships of war. Were rooting for you people back here.

It's been a long time since I heard it. It's a 3-4 year old story. I couldn't pass this up and came into mind a few days ago. But I've been reluctant on telling it. But it's such an amazing thing I felt like I had to share it.

    ___

A squad was sent from a base somewhere between Iraq or Afghanistan. It's very late at night and they've been riding in HMMWV (Or military grade humvee's) most of the way and come across a massive valley. They didn't like how they had to pass through it so they got out of their cars and walked along the side of them while keeping an eye for enemies. Approaching towards the middle of the valley, they of course, get ambushed from both sides of the valley. In a panic, as guns were going off in every direction, they open their doors for cover, and two of the units got in front of the HMMWV Don't remember if it was the last h vehicle or the first either way just note that they're in front of the vehicle) and ducked down on it for cover. The squad returned fire at the flashes they see when the enemies guns went off.

After the commander fired off a few shots, he realized him and his squad are going to be screwed if they don't get out of that turkey shoot. He tells most of his units to fall back, they rush to a boulder and away from the mess. Notice how I say "most" of his units. Remember the two other soldiers that I said that hunkered for cover? There still there. And they're being suppressed. One enemy had the idea of getting an RPGx7 and firing it at them. Luck would have it that the missile waves off and hits behind the HMMWV. The force and shrapnel of the blast hit the extra fuel cans in the back and exploded. That force sent the HMMWV to tilt onto its bumper, and keep going until it was flipped onto its back. The two units? They're still there in front of the vehicle. From the group that retreated, it looked like they were going to be crushed by a 5,900lb flaming ball of fire onto the soldiers.

    But not today.

The vehicle tilts onto the bumper, the bumper makes the vehicle bounce up, and over the two soldiers. That was a clear sign for the to "Run". They did, and they made it back to the group with out getting shot by the enemy. Once with the main group, they sit behind the rock as the commander thinks. He says (in some sort of way) "We're going to empty our mags on them... Ready?" They all line up on hug the bolder, ready to poke out on fire. Once the commander yelled out "Now!" They all pop up, and start to fire until the mags are dry. Now if I remember correctly. there was about 8 people. With 8 assault rifles going off at the same time, and them not having hearing protection. That was a loud line of fire. Once the mags were empty. They sit back down on the rock. No one has taken a hit yet. They can hear them coming as it sounds like they're are more of them coming.

Losing hope after the battle had been going on for a time, the commander looks at his squad and says "It's been an honor being with you soldiers..." He says more but I can't remember entirely what he says and I don't want to quote something he didn't say.  One solider wrapped his arm around his friend, then his friend wrapped his arm around his friend, and so on until they made a circle and waited for their time to come.

But the universe has other plans for them.

When they made the circle, and for what probably felt like an eternity, they hear a loud BVVVVRRRRRRRRRT BVVRRRT BVVVRRRRT, that went into the valley, passing over their heads and two seconds later, an A-10 warthog flies by with the pilot over their radio saying "I got you." (I'll always remember that part clearly) coming out of the circle they made, they look out and can't see much, but from what they can tell, their contact has been eradicated.

They were able to go on without another incident.

When they were at base, they were asking around for who the pilot was that saved them. The response was "We didn't have anyone out that night." Two possibilities exist: One, they had a pilot out there, and when the squad was rescued, he didn't want to be noticed and asked them not to let them know who it was. Or two..... it just wasn't their time.

Arrow looks at the pony, thinks for a moment: "Experiment...?" Was all he could muster out. "We'll never get anywhere without trying different ways or options. So why not? Have at it!" He responds, wanting to ward away the sense of his magic being... "taken" as he will put it. Stupid Fernly. Little prick.

Arrow smirks at what Midnight is doing. Thinking that she wants to continue the war. He ducks down as if sneaking. He is already thinking of ways to attack. Slowly sneaking over, he prepares his magic to attack. This is a good time to be doing this now. He didn't want a bot to say what he is or isn't.

Arrow smiles at Midnight for her happy mood. Letting win the boop war... For now.

When... Fernly, started to speak, he could tell that he'll hate the bot. "Excuse you ya closed circuit freak ball!" Arrow insults. "I'm not a cheater, I'm blocky, and I think you need a life lesson in understanding ponies 101!" He shouts to it.

  5. @@Totally Ducklett Arrow, with a sigh of her childish plea, goes ahead and nods. "Sure. Didn't really care to open it anyway." He responds with a smirk.

    @@Demirari

After that, he looks towards this sphere, thing, of... of... unique(?) personality. Watching the room transform the way it has caused Arrow to take a moment of silence and think. "What the buck?" To himself. The seemed to have such an array of diversity to it with lasers, water, buttons, and what not. It was as if they just changed their time point and went to the the future.

Then the bot had to share his opinion about stallions. "We're not dull!" Arrow counters weakly. "I was just hopping around and prancing, playing a war with this mare!" He gently boops Midnight on the snout to give support to his statement.

  6. @@Totally Ducklett @@Akari of Duskshire

Arrow lets his guard down after the pup started to prance and bark. "Well... so much for that." He says at he plucks his arrows off his bow. "I guess it wants us to follow?" Arrow guesses by its gestures. With that, he looks towards Midnight, waiting for her to drop the shields. Since he thinks he can't walk through it.

  7. @@Celestial Panzerhund,

Midnight giggled madly, struggling hard. "N-no! Never! NEVER!" Midnight began to crawl away, as she managed to cast a dispelling spell to get free. She, too, glanced at the sphere and everypony else, and made a notice to finish up quickly.

    @@Akari of Duskshire,

She then, too, noticed the timberwolf, and squeaked. "F-fantasy! Is th-that a real timberwolf?!"

Looking down the hall, Fantasy Moon saw the room and the strange sphere. This time, she had an easier time steeling herself, though she still shook a bit.

Turning back, she raised her voice, saying,"Let's go." Seeing as they were very invested in their game, she walked away, opened her book, and gave them both a gift - Which was a hungry-looking timber wolf. Lucky for them, she forgot to add the corporeal rune. She didn't seem to notice, as she kept walking while controlling the wolf. ...I suddenly want revenge... for that "boop"...

(Too lazy to put names in)

After the escape he slowly starts to approach until his enemies glimpse and surprise became his. He flinches, taking out his bow and loading up; not one, but two Arrow's onto his bow, draws back and waits for the wolf to attack. "Tell your mutt to heel! Or something!" He demanded towards Moon, not liking the beast one bit.

  8. @@Totally Ducklett

Arrow huffs, scrunches his snout, huffs again and then tackles the mare down. "You don't do that and get away with that!" He pins her with magic and starts to (at least try to) boop the hell out of her snout. Giving off a crazy evil laugh, he says. "Submit little pony!"

His other half of his mind tried to get peek in at what was going on as to have such commosion, and semi ruining the fun. All he saw was a sphere and a white room thing but gave it no real thought as he wanted to win this.
