  1. Pinoak pulls out a bag from his wagon, pulls out a marshmallow, and sticks it onto a nearby stick. He walks over to the glowing smith and holds and pretends to roast the marshmallow over Steel's head.

"Nothing like a freshly toasted marshmallow." Pinoak's horn glows faintly as he toasts the marshmallow. After the mallow is a nice, light brown, he floats it into his mouth. "Mmmm..... Anypony else want one?" Pinoak offers the bag to the group, laughing at Steel's shocked face.

  2. "Well, I have some oil in my wagon, but I really need to get the stage out. It shouldn't be a problem, just need a little bit of muscle to help get it unstuck. And even if I wanted to oil it, I still need to pull it out first. But thank you for the offer for grabbing some oil. And as for the handle, it's fine, it locks so ponies can get a better grip on it."

Pinoak notices the odd looks at the wagon. "And if you are wondering about these carvings, each one represents a new town or area my family has visited. I'm a traveling story collector and puppeteer, as were my parents, and was my dad's parents, and so on. Some of these carvings go back about 100 plus years." Pinoak points out a carving of a barn and an apple tree. "This one is Ponyville's Sweet Apple Acres when my grandparents visited Ponyville for the first time. OH! But if you want, we can talk about the carvings later, we need to get the stage out! So how about you pull the handle, while I pull it with magic. Sound good to you?"

Pinoak looks at Kismet and holds out a hoof, "I'm Pinoak by the way. And you are?"

(OOC: @@Love*Potion, Sorry about taking a bit to post. If you want, you could temporarily take over my character to describe how you help with the stage and getting it pulled out.)

  3. It's honestly a matter of opinion. One thing that might help you cut down on line making is if you have each new thing your character does in a single paragraph, including all spoken words and actions in it. When the character kind of moves on from a topic, start a new paragraph. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well, but you'll see me doing something like this quite often in my RPs. And if you want, here's a link to another RP I'm in with what I'm attempting to describe.

    Link: Haunted Woods

*EDIT: And like this RP, I'm playing as Pinoak.

  4. "AAaaaaaaand I have everything ready." Pinoak looks around his wagon home, looking at various props and puppets strewn about the room.  "I believe I'm almost set for the show." Pinoak stretches his forelegs over his head and trots outside. He walks over to the side of the wagon that is facing the road, and starts pulling at a handle on the same side. Pinoak gives it a strong tug, but it doesn't move. He tries again, but with the same results.

"Looks like I need to give her a good oiling later. She's stuck pretty tight." Out of the corner of his eye, he spots a lavender mare with a brown mane and tail.

"Um, excuse me, miss." Pinoak comes up to her and asks, "Are you one of the volunteers? If you are, would you mind giving me a hoof with my stage? It's a bit stuck....."

  5.

They're smart, they're strong and, above it all, they're experienced hunters" Boomy shakes his head "By the time that you spot a Kobold's eyes, their will be another 10 at your back, all aiming at your throat"

(OOC: This is just an exageration, kobolds are actually a pun in D&D , the lowest of the lowest, literally, dumb as a rock and frail as glass, but you get the point. Also, boomy has a point, at least put some kind of trap or a few stings atached to some bells as alarm, it's just common sense to him)

"Oh come on Boomy, Kobolds aren't nearly that bad. Yes, they are good hunters, but not that good. And have you met a kobold? Just say something like 'LOOK! Shiny!'  and they immediately start searching for the shiny. Learned that from experience. Goblins on the other hand, that's where you should be careful."

Pinoak floats up a paint kit and starts to paint the waterfall carving on his wagon. "But you are right about setting some kind of perimeter. I can help cast some illusions on the traps to hide them better when I'm finished painting here."

(OOC: @@Revolver Bobcat, I thought it would be pretty funny to point out a weak race, with another race that are pretty much the same as Kobolds, the Goblin!)

  6. "This is beautiful." Pinoak parks his wagon near the waters edge. He sits on the top of the wagon, looking out at the waterfall. "Time for a new carving."

The unicorn hops down from the wagon and walks into his wagon. Moments later, he comes out carrying various wood carving tools and paints. " If anypony needs a place to sleep, I can make room in my wagon. Might be a bit safer."

Pinoak looks all over his wagon, and finds a spot that does not have a carving on it, and starts engraving it.

  7. Pinoak catches the bag with his magic and opens it.

"Errm... not seeing much. Just some snacks, a bestiary, some rope, nothing out of the ordi-" Pinoak picks out the book and drops the bag. "It's a bestiary!"

Pinoak floats the dragons beside him and sticks his nose into the book, flipping the pages fervently. "Umm.. El Ponycabra, Steve Magnet, vamponies and wereponies, werezebras, golems, beholders, ummm...... AHA! I think I found it!"

Pinoak runs between ponies pointing out a picture of the beast that they had just slain. "It's this, the..." Pinoak stops running about and stares at the book, moving it towards and away from his face. "Well, I don't know what it is. Almost all of the words are crossed off. Crossed off to the point where I can't read anything. The only words I can make out are 'egg', 'scale', and 'danger'. All of which are clearly pointed out by our encounter with it."

He flips through a couple more pages. "The following page is also crossed off except the words, 'It's here, I shall be overtaken' which are right above the words, 'needs more information'."

Pinoak looks to the group, "Does somepony else want to take a look at it to see what they can decipher?"

  8. Well, you could have everpony start going about what they are doing before the party, like having me and Azure preparing for the party, Judith taking a look around town, Pixel and Kismet meeting up before hand, etc. This way, we can start to introduce each other's characters and give us some filler RPing with you commenting occasionally before you come in and hit us with the heavy stuff. What do y'all think of that?

  9. "Lright, I'm fine, Featherstone seems to be a bit hurt, and the rest of us are rattled. We now probably know what happened to the pony from the other day. My suggestion is that we get Feather patched up and onto my wagon. Can't have you putting weight onto that leg. Then we should head to the falls and get ourselves cleaned up."

Pinoak looks at his body, with bits of of monster and scales. "Eugh, that was disgusting!" He shivers and starts examining the egg. "This egg is nothing ,like I've seen before. It isn't draconic nor is it from the El Ponycabra." Pinoak continues to list off various creatures under hi breath.

    "Sorry, I got nothing."

  10. "Oh dear god!"

Pinoak jumps down as Dralstor flies over to the beast, blasting it with a small fireball. "Through the fire and the flames I'll follow through!" Pinoak screams as he bucks the beast away from Azura. His horn flashes yellow as a silver dragon marionette appears in front of the beast. It opens it mouth and lets loose another fireball, just grazing the monster's coat. Both dragons float over to stand between The party and the beast, occasionally loosing their fire breath if the beast get to close.

"Azura, first, are you physically alright? Second, I've heard stories of all sorts of manner of beasts, but I don't think I've heard mention of something like this. What is it? Is it a new type of timberwolf? Or is it a baby El Ponycabra?"

(OOC: @, I think I have it now, thanks!.)

  11. @Orieann

Calling after Steel, "DRALSTOR ISN"T A DOLL!!!" Now more to himself as he pulls out a downtrodden Dralstor, "He's a marionette.."

    @Azura

Now looking at Azura, "Are you getting the feeling that he's going to do more stuff like that? And if that's not Zecora's house, I'll have to take your word for it. I'm still fairly new around these parts."

    @Revolver Booster

Pinoak gives him a curious stare, "Oook then Boomy."

Pinoak now looks at the rest of the group. "If you guys want to catch up to him, hop onto my wagon, I'm pretty sure I can give her enough juice to speed right up to him."

(OOC: How do you mention somepony in a post? I can't seem to get it right.)

  12. @Oireann

"I'm not sure if that's the best plan right now Steel."  Pinoak puts a hoof over his eyes to get a better look. "For all we know, it could be the home of the zebra, Zecora. Let's wait a bit until we can actually see what it is. If it's her home, we'll be fine. If it's dangerous, I have a feeling we can take care of it."

    @Revolver Bobcat

Pinoak looks towards the crazed brown pony. "I see that we have a new companion. Might I ask your name? As well as how you've become so familiar with these woods? As for my name, I'm Pinoak Strunghoof, a traveling puppeteer and story collector."

  13. @RoseLaFlesh

"Well, now is a perfect time to learn one! This is one that I learned from a friend of mine named Gobo."
Pinoak floats a tennis racket and pretends to strum it like a guitar, and somehow, guitar music starts playing.

"Every day the world begins again,

    Sunny skies or rain,
    Come and follow me

Every sunrise shows me more and more,

    So much to explore
Come and follow me." The unicorn hops down from the wagon and pushes between Azure and Feather, and starts singing again,

    "Every morning, every day

Every evening, calling me away." He trots over to another group of ponies,

"While the sun goes 'round I'll still be found,

    Following the sound,

Something's calling me." Pinoak playfully bumps into Honey Seed.

"When the world goes drifting back to bed,

Memories in my head, wonders follow me" Pinoak hops back up into his seat on the wagon.

    "Every morning, every day

    Every evening calling me away."

The music comes to a close as the tennis racket gets put back into the wagon. Pinoak looks around at the group. "Who has the next song?"

(OOC: I had to type this up on my nook, so I'll edit the post when I get home. Fixed! Also, that song is "Follow Me" from Fraggle Rock, sung by Uncle Traveling Matt and Gobo Fraggle. God do I love that show.)

  14. The great and powerful nexie! (Get it? It's a trixie reference.) or call it whatever you want. tongue.pngbiggrin.png GARBELCOPTOR

Lol! I like the pun. And Garbelcoptors? Are you crazy ?! ohmy.png

Wow, that's pretty cool. I was going to suggest Shmoopy Doopy Fuzzy Butt, but that was when I thought it was going to be a puppet made out felt or something. So how about Captain K'Nexus?

Mmm..... Not feeling Captin K'Nexus. If it were a pirate puppet, then I would totally go for it.

  15. Riku, first and second time and Maleficent in her dragon form from Kingdom Hearts one. Riku for the first time made me quit for about a month, then Maleficent in dragon form made me quit for about two, and Riku for the second time made me rage quit for two+ years before I finally beat it. I could not beat him at all. I tried repeatedly, grinded my characters, tried to get the best equipment, but to no avail. Then the final time I tried, I beat him on the third try and finished the game within two hours. It was ridiculous.

  16. I need help naming my newest puppet made out of K*NEX. I'm trying to make a pun of K*NEX for her name, but I'm running into a naming block. Right now, her name is Kayla Ness, but I am also thinking of Nexxie or something. Suggestions?

  17. @@Azura,

In answer to the questions you asked in the RP thread. No, I don't think we should split up because a) I think it might be a bit confusing for me, b ) Splitting up is horror cliche #0023, and c) It's the Everfree Forest, would any pony really split up in there? I could see search patterns but over all I'd think they'd want to stick as close as possible in case somepony gets in trouble.

In answer to the second question, I think we should go as deep as possible into the forest.

He's right.  There is one piece of advice that has, for the most part, kept my party alive in a roleplaying game. And that advice is.....

  18. "Other than my mother? Not really." Pinoak interrupted from a top of his moving wagon, laughing.

Pinoak looks up towards the sun, "I'd say we have about two or three more hours of traveling. So lets keep going and set up camp later." He pauses for a moment, then asks the group, "Does anypony know a good traveling song? You know, to help pass the time as we travel."

  19. Well I will clearly not know anyone. I had an idea that we could possibly use my character's show wagon as a traveling base. Hopefully, it won't get destroyed in this adventure. And seeing as my character is a story collector, I think it would be kinda cool to write his thoughts about what is going on in a journal and use each entry as a blog post. What do you guys think of that?
