...It was a dream sequence, Puma. The episode is actually very morbid in showing how important cutie marks are. At least in the first portion of the episode. Plus, Babs getting her mark was really not all that important to the story. But, it didn't need to be. It's a nice little nod to continuity, one that will probably be used later on.

Babs getting her CM was not a dream, and while being a nod to continuity it's something that could have be done later on, they should have gotten their Cutie Marks together, she is a Crusader too, and while getting the Mark does not make someone stop being a Crusader it's something that will drive them apart, and Babs surely doesn't need nor want that.
