Moonlight Fire

Moonlight nervously peered back at the light in the distance. Dogboots is definately correct. I have a feeling this isn't going to turn out well, she thought, and paced on the ground in front of her, before finally standing still. "Well, we shouldn't waste anymore time. Sweetie could be in trouble," the mare said to the group, her voice seemingly coming out of thin air. "Lead the way, Gray," she told the captain. @@thor9356, Moonlight allowed herself a small smile and nodded at the stallion, before realizing he couldn't see her. "Thanks, but it only lasts about thirty minutes, so we better get going," she said outloud, impatiently scratching her hoof at the ground. The communicator in her ear beeped as she heard Dusks's message, and she shook her head. I would go, but I really need to rescue Sweetie. Hmm..unicorn.. Moonlight's eyes lit up as she had an idea. She spoke into her communicator to Dusk, "Twisted is a unicorn, isn't he? Perhaps you could ask him for help." The unicorn only hoped the stallion would do it.

Moonlight nodded, and closed her eyes. Right, staying out of sight? Easy, she thought, and began to cast an invisiblity spell on herself, using her magic skills. Soon the mare was completely invisible. "I'm over here," she adressed the group, trying to make sure there was no confusion of where she suddenly was.

Moonlight nodded. "I understand what you mean. I haven't known Sweetie Pie for too long, but can tell that this doesn't make sense," the unicorn murmured, hoping the mare would be alright, though clearly something was wrong. Moonlight turned back to Gray and Crimson. "Alright. We're wasting time. We should start moving," she said tersely, cutting straight to the point.

@@Gray_Spectrum, Moonlight frowned and gave a nod to the captain. She watched Gray say something to Dogboots, but she couldn't catch what he said. "Readier than ever," she announced, surverying the other ponies. Being back-up wasn't especially important, but the unicorn knew she would be of better use if she was on the sidelines. I suppose it's evident I'm not as skilled as the rest of the crew in fighting, but I'll still be able to hold my own, she thought, a determined expression on her face.

@, Moonlight tore her gaze away from the light and glanced in surprise at Crimson. "Where have you been?" she asked warily, eyeing the stallion. At the sight of his slightly messy mane and faint alcohol on his breath, Moonlight predicted the answer. "Oh, don't tell me you've been drunk this entire time! Gah, you're an idiot!" she growled furiously, her grouchy temper escalating. The unicorn took a deep breath and swallowed her anger. "Well, no matter I guess. This is Dogboots. Me and Gray met him and his companion, Sweetie Pie, at the local pub. We..uh..they know about the airship and everything. But thankfully they won't tell anybody," she said, looking at Dogboots through the corner of her eye. "Unfortunately, Sweetie got extremely drunk and went missing. Apparently, the police ponies took her, and that light in the distance is hers," Moonlight said, peering back at the bright colors.

Moonlight nodded. "If I am recalling correctly, that light means Sweetie's very happy," she mumbled, trying to decipher the meaning of the light. "Well, whatever the light means, we better head towards it. That's definitely got to be where she's at," the unicorn said finally.

Moonlight narrowed her eyes at the light. "You're right. I've had to had seen that somewhere," she said, struggling to concentrate on the thought. Suddenly, the unicorn gasped. "Sweetie Pie! It's Sweetie Pie!" Moonlight shouted, finally realizing she had seen Sweetie shine like that at the pub.

Moonlight nodded. "Right, but how on Equestria are we going to get her back? She's with the official authorities!" she muttered, scratching her mane in thought. "So, the police just..took her? Or did she come to them?" Moon asked, struggling to figure out a solution.

Moonlight glanced at Dogboots as he galloped up to her, looking as if he had something important to say. "What is it?" she asked warily. "Oh no. Is it bad news?" the unicorn swallowed, readying herself for the worst. She had been asking several ponies if they had seen anything, but none that she asked did. Some had even been unfriendly (but she had dealt with them.)

"Alright. Star just flew to her shop, and I think Gray is searching the city. I guess we could help him," she said with a nod. Moonlight began to briskly trot down the deck, her mind racing. "We'll find you Sweetie, and when we do, I'm going to make sure you never drink again," she grumbled to herself.

@@Gray_Spectrum, Moonlight slightly winced at the name Moony, and nodded. "Alright. I'm trusting you both to find her," she said, then groaned as she noticed Gray's broken glasses. "Are you going to be able to find her with those broken?" she grumbled, but simply shrugged and decided to let him handle it. The unicorn began to walk briskly through the ship. Where could they be? she wondered. "The engine room! Dogboots said he wanted to see it!" she said out loud, and started to walk towards it. @@thor9356, @, Moonlight walked inside, and was relived to find the two ponies there. "Star, Dogboots, we have a problem. Sweetie Pie is missing, and I had a hunch that she's somewhere in the city," she began, still contemplating if her idea was correct. "Twisted and Gray are about to go look for her. Star, you know the city pretty well, right? I need you to go help them look," the mare said, glancing at the Pegasus.

@@Brain Drain, Moonlight took a panicked breath and turned to Twisted. "Sweetie Pie's gone. She was sleeping the sleeping quarters, and now I can't find her," she said as calm as she could. "If we're going to use logic here, I think I have a theory on what happened. Since she was so intoxicated with alcohol, she most likely woke up confused an disorientated, probably slightly afraid. I think she may have left the ship all together," Moonlight reasoned, closing her eyes in thought. "I mean, it's just a guess," she said thoughtfully.

@@Gray_Spectrum, Moonlight rolled her eyes at Gray's cracked glasses. "You're correct. It's more likely she doesn't have alcohol poisoning, but it's definitely a possibility she could have it. I'll check on her. You..uh..you should really get those glasses fixed," she said, smiling slightly. The mare then began to walk to the sleeping quarters. I really hope she doesn't have alcohol poisoning. Man, that's such a pain to fix! she thought, pushing the door open. Moonlight's eyes scanned the room, but strangely, there was nopony in the room. "Hello? Sweetie Pie, right? It's Moonlight," she called, waiting for the mare to answer. Nobody did. Could she have somehow wandered out?! The unicorn thought in panic, and began to franticly search the room, flinging aside blankets and searching under beds. She's gone! She's completely gone! Moonlight realized, and with a sigh, returned to Gray.

Moonlight rolled her eyes and groaned. "I don't know why you've been calling me that," she said, slightly annoyed by the nickname. The mare noticed Gray getting slightly depressed, and her gaze softened. "But..um..hey don't worry. I like the name..Moony," she winced as she said the sentence. Moonlight wasn't a big fan of the name "moony" but she had to cheer Gray up.

"Well, for starters, you were so drunk you couldn't walk!" Moonlight said furiously, glaring at Gray. "It was because of your stupid drunk mind that we had to bring these ponies here. Dogboots seems honorable, but I don't know if we can trust him," she said quietly. The mare's anger quickly returned, and she muttered, "Oh yeah, and I basically had to carry you all the way here."

Moonlight almost dropped Gray off of her back as she heard the stallion's words. "I.." The mare stuttered, as she contemplated her options. Should I just trust him and tell the truth? She thought trying to take a deep breath. "Alright. I guess there's no hiding it from you now. This airship, indeed, is part of Celestia's Royal fleet. Our crew..stole it. We're headed for an island with the ship," Moonlight said with a sigh, wondering if it was safe to tell Dogboots about the riches on the island.

Moonlight nodded, and grimaced as Gray got completely onto her back and fell asleep. "Of course. Follow me," she said, and began to lead Dogboots onto the second deck, waving to the other crew members as they left. "What is wrong with you Gray?!" She mumbled to the sleeping pony on her back. Finally, Moonlight stopped in front of the sleeping quarters and pushed the doors open. "Here, make yourself at home," the mare said politely, slightly nervous. Was it really wise to let these ponies come here? she thought to herself.

Moonlight glanced at Dogboots, and layed a gentle hoof on Sweetie's forehead, before taking it off with a nod. "She's alright. But make sure she never consumes that much alcohol again. It's probably not the best for her health," the mare assured them. The unicorn swallowed nervously as they boarded the ship. "Well, make yourselves at home for now," she said.

Moonlight glanced back at Sweetie, who had vomited moments ago. "Tell me if your stomach feels bad," she muttered, and continued to walk with Gray leaning onto her. As she turned a corner, she soon found their large air ship, and took a nervous breath. "Well, here's our ship. I'll introduce you to the crew," Moonlight said, and saw Twisted staring from the railing. She waved at him, before starting to climb the deck. The mare found Star waiting, and tensely said, "Hey. You remember our friends from the pub? They, um, wanted to see our ship," Moonlight told her, gesturing towards them.

Moonlight rolled her eyes as Gray leaned on her. "You're crazy when you're drunk," she muttered, and began to lead Dogboots down the street towards the airship. "I should probably apologize for Gray. He's not usually like this. He's usually pretty normal, except for the fact he's so perky I want to puke," she said jokingly to the stallion as they drew closer to their ship.

Moonlight shook her head. "That's okay, it wasn't that much trouble," she said reassuringly to the stallion. The mare then nervously glanced at Gray nervously. "Fine. But if they find out where we got it, it's your fault!" She whispered furiously. Moonlight flinched as he leaned onto her for support. He was very light, but she wasn't a huge fan of unfamiliar contact. She turned back to Dogboots. "Well, Gray insists you come see our ship, so you might as well," she told him.

@@slimmyjimjim, Moonlight flinched as Sweetie crumpled into a sleeping heap. "Oh great," she said sarcastically, gently trying to prod her awake, but she remained sleeping. Moonlight glanced at Dogboots and frowned. "I suppose now we have to take her home," she said, struggling to heave to sleeping mare up.
