  1. I guess, I would have to be all of the above. I was attracted thanks to the big splash MLP made on the internetz, it takes me to a happier place, makes me remember what it was like being a kid and is now starting to drive my creativity again.

  2. If there's one thing you know you are, it's #1! You tend to be competitive by nature and love to show off your talents at every available moment, but that's often because you've put in a lot of practice to perfect your techniques and want to take pride in your effort. Because of this, you sometimes get a little too proud, fearing competing if you don't feel you can win and getting hotheaded if someone questions your capabilities. You hate losing.

Even though you may be a bit self-centered, you still care deeply for your friends and would stand up for them no matter what. You're deeply loyal to them, even if you may not always show it. Just because they're not as talented as you doesn't mean they're worthless, because you love them for who they are, although you may still joke around and give them a hard time — really, who doesn't like a laugh? You're incredibly brave and will be the first one to volunteer to venture off into the unknown or stand up against an enemy, perhaps letting your impulses get a hold of you before a rational plan is actually thought of.

While a lot of ponies may care how they look or concern themselves over what they're doing, you always want to present yourself in the coolest way possible. Whatever someone else is, your goal is to be 20% cooler. Fashion and style are a waste of time to you, because you know that's not what determines how cool a pony is. And if you think dying your hair all of the colors of the rainbow will make you 20% cooler, hey, guess what, because you don't care about appearances, it does.

  3. I wanna do fanfics on the unconventional relationships. Ones that people haven't thought too much about, but might make sense when done right.

DashTavia- Kinda sparked by Dashie trying to hide the fact that she loves reading. Why not a love for classical music, and one of the best classical musicians in all of Equestria?"

AppleTavia- Similar to the aforementioned one, but more along the lines of Applejack trying to maintain her image of a hardworking country girl, rather than have her friends and family doubt her authenticity by finding out she loves classical.

RariScratch- Again, like the above ones, only this time it's Rarity hiding her love for the "uncultured, obnoxious, improper sounds" of Dubstep in an attempt to maintain her ladylike image and social status. But she can't help it if she has a crush on Equstria's hottest DJ.

CadenceSparkle- Cadence's marriage to Shining armor is merely one of convenience. The one pony she truly loves is the one she's known for so long, and the one that's joined her as a princess.

ShiningScratch- Oh come on, these two have to be shipped together. They have the exact same mane & coat colors. Shining Armor likes Vinyls music, Vinyl thinks Shining Armor is kinda hot.

  4. Go for it. Maybe you'll make some innovations that Mane6 could only have dreamed of. It'll take much longer, and a considerable mount of resources, but as long as you keep the product out of the reach of the public eye, and once your done, distribute it all across the web in a way that doesn't link back to you or your dev mates, you'll make your dream, and ours, a reality. And there isn't a thing Hasbro could do about it (well, except apologize).

  5. It's a big question. Is Equestria a land located within the depths of earths history, long before humans, and all of our technology and architecture was passed down form ponies? Is it the opposite, where Ponies exist in a world that has since been devoid of humans, and everything the ponies have has been passed down from us? Or is it a world where humans have never existed? On a side note, it is rather humorous looking at how the ponies use items and tools that require hands and fingers, such as hammers, tooth brushes, cellos, etc.

  6. I never take the insults seriously. If you can challenge someone to defend their stance on their own hatred for something, and they can't come up with a good argument, or even any argument at all, then those people have lost the rights to your attention.

No matter what you do, what you like or what you believe in, you will always find someone who will hate you for that. You can leave the fandom and people will find a million other reasons to hate you. No matter what you do, you cannot please everyone. Even trying to please one group will just incite another. So screw them all. Do what you want, enjoy what you like, hang with people who are like minded, take pride in who you are and never regret liking what you do. It's part of who you are. That is something that should never be forsaken.

I've had my haters. All they've done is reaffirm why I am the way I am and made me take to heart what I truly enjoy even more. I've had my supporters, who show me that life ain't all that bad.

  7. While I do wear the shirts in public and talk about it with the few friends I have, that's about it. I live in a town (really a village) surrounded by other small towns, a half hour drive away from anything interesting. Bronycon had more than 4x as many people as my home town does.  I work with (well used to work with) a bunch of older, down home, blue collar gentleman, who probably wouldn't have gotten that sort of thing. Other than that I don't have my own car, and am kinda scared of driving, so I don't go out much (months at a time go by before there's anything of interest I want to go out to).

If I got out more and knew more people, I'd probably be more open about it.

  8. Just as the question says. Whether you're truly not invested in the characters enough to choose a favorite, that the pony you really like happens to change from day to day, or you are just simply plagued with indecision, anyone else here lack an all time favorite pony?

  9. Save Chrysalis. Chrysalis isn't exactly evil. She did what she did in order to feed her subjects. Sombra enslaved the Chrystal empire. No justification for that. And I believe that Chrysalis can be turned good if she worked to earn the love and acceptance of Equestria, a long term strategy with big rewards, rather than cocoon everypony and leech off their emotions, something that's ultimately a short term solution.

  10. I'd like to see a Mane 6 battle royal. Kinda like what was done with the ninja turtles.  Who is the deadliest of the 6? Twilight w/ her versatility of magic? Applejack w/ her brute strength? Rarity w/ her cunning and a viscous backhand? Fluttershy & her pent up rage? Pinkie pie and a combination of her 4th wall breaking powers and her psychotic other half Pinkemena? Or will Rainbow Dash pick up a 2nd victory w/ her speed and athleticism? I'd also pay to see the Mane 6 vs. their past generation counterparts.

But if it had to be non-equines, I'd pick:

    -Pinky Pie vs. Freakazoid

-Rarity vs. Rouge the Bat (Sonic the hedgehog)

-Applejack vs. Holo the Wise Wolf (Spice and wolf)

-Twilight Sparkle vs. Edward Cullen (Twilight Novels)

-Discord vs. Piedmon (Digimon: Digital Monsters)

-Queen Chrysalis vs. Morrigan Aensland (Darkstalkers)

-Nightmare Moon Vs. Wu-ya (Xiolin Showdown)

-The CMC vs. The Ed Boys (Ed, Edd & Eddy)

-Lyra Heartstrings Vs. Dee-Dee (Dexter's Laboratory (a pony wanting to be a human vs. a human who became a pony in 1 episode))

  14. The biggest spoiler for me was Twilicorn. Spoilers were everywhere and impossible to avoid :c

But well, no more big spoilers for me :P

TWILICORN! It would have been so much cooler if I had gone into that episode blind and not anticipating Twi's transformation. I happened to see leaked pictures and episode info while looking up MLP stuff on Google.

My mind would've been blown had I not known about Twilicorn! Now it's subconsciously kept me from watching the season 3 finale. It's not that I don't want to watch it. It's that it's never on my priorities and it always fades from my mind. It's only when someone mentions the season 3 finale and remember that I still haven't watched it yet.

  15. If I had my way, I'd have the con be in Milwaukee somewhere. If we're talking actual convention centers though, Rosemont, over in Chicago's north-side would be a good place. They host Anime Central every late April/May over at the Donald Jay Stevens convention center (I think that's what it's called) as well as working with the nearby Hyatt and Double Tree Hotels. It could definitely hold Bronycon, as Anime Central has been hosting between 18,000 & 21,000 attendees.

But I already talked to the con staff and they said that Baltimore is the foreseeable future.

but regardless of where it is...

    I will be there!

  16. I highly doubt that if FiM didn't exist, that we'd give as much flack as we do to G1-3.5. We'd just dismiss those incarnations of the MLP franchise as just little girls shows or TV for toddlers. But now these past incarnations are under scrutiny when being compared to the divinity incarnate that is FiM.

So Bronies, let's all take a step back and look at the broader pictures. Are there any positive qualities about the past generations? Anything you liked, anything at all?

My only experience w/ proto-MLP is from buying two G3 tapes at a garage sale for $0.50 last year, A charming birthday and Dancing in the clouds. And after watching them, I kind of liked them. Took me back to a simpler time, just having fun with the program, not anticipating whats going to happen next or looking deep into the context of the show. Just going along for the ride. Kind of gave me that little kid feeling of anything being possible. But being more specific, the animation was good, I liked the music score and the voice acting was decent. I walked away feeling like my intelligence wasn't insulted. Nothing awe-strikingly amazing, but nothing really to rag on either.

What do you guys think? Anything good about the prior generations?
