  1. There are total opposite opinions about storylines here, so my question is how are they different? Is one game particularly darker and more surreal while the other is more hopeful? I understand that you can be good or bad personally, but overall are there different tones between the global storyline? (if that makes any sense? smile.png )

The main plot of Fallout New Vegas is a bit of a war story with some politics and personal motivation (well around the beginning anyway) mixed in. It challenges your morals (though Fallout 3 does that pretty well in a few quests as well) and the way you see things in a post apocalyptic world (mostly how life should be lived, how organized should it be and things like that)   I find it a lot more complex and interesting then Fallout 3.  Also it branches really well but all the quest lines hit some main important points. Still, seeing them from very different perspectives is a lot of fun in my opinion.

I don't remember much of Fallout 3's story to be honest so I can't reliably say much about it. Mostly, I just remember running around getting frustrated and disappointed at the end. I haven't had the chance to play the DLC though and as I said I don't remember it all that well.

  2. Having played both, I am of the unpopular opinion that out of the two Fallout: New Vegas is the superior game. Gameplay wise they are basically the same but I found the story of New Vegas to be far better than Fallout 3's. I think the reputation system with the different factions is very well done and I felt like I had a big impact on the game world. Both games set up their plots pretty well so new comers will easily understand either. They tell you everything you need to know in order to understand them. They are both great games but I had much more fun with New Vegas.

Also, I never really found the bugs and glitches all that distracting in either game. Then again I know for a fact that I didn't run into the worst of them. Still, I have a tendency to look past them as long as they are not game breaking.

  3. I pretty much think that in it's current development humanity is at a crossroads. We have achieved many remarkable things in recent history after a really dark period. However there are still things that drag us down. I believe that humanity can be great but today's society doesn't make things any easier. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens in the future and do our parts to steer things in the right direction.

  4. I can't really give any tips on drawing because I'm not very good at it but I can say that this sketch is really awesome! Great work. The visible eye looks a bit strange to me though. I can't quite put my finger on why so it might just be me.

Still, this is a great drawing :D!

  5. She helped the mane six on occasion and in my opinion she is a fun character with a lot of potential for future stories. The fans seem to like and appreciate her alright so I don't feel she is underrated but I'd definitely like her role to be expanded. Maybe even get an episode focusing on her. Why she came to ponyville and other things like that.

  6. I would pretty much fight until my last breath. My own morals dictate that and I guess I have kinda been conditioned by games, movies, my countries history and things like that to be a freedom fighter even if the struggle seems hopeless. Being converted is pretty much the same as death in my eyes with the exception that you don't complete cease to exist but what remains does harm to others. Which is even worse.

  7. There are many awesome Disney songs but this is by far my favorite:

It is just so different from all the others. Much darker but also much deeper. Both the song and the imagery are awesome. It is interesting because Hunchback of Notredame is far from my favorite Disney movie but this song is just unbelievable!

  8. Chaotics don't get dental.

    We get dental...

And you can take paid leave.

That's right, you can get the same paycheck you'd get while active while on leave.

Chaotics do not need dental! Our teeth are way beyond saving. Chaotics have all the fun though, why should you be bogged down by trying to up hold peace and harmony? And we do have the best music:

  9. My life would be a lot different. The brony fandom is really the first one I ever really felt like I am a part of. The show helped me resolve some of my issues and I think I'm well on my way to becoming a better person. Here on this forum I have met and talked to some great people and I'm making friends and the community and the show inspired me to create things again. My life has been turning for the better ever since I was introduced to Friendship is Magic smile.png .

  10. Is that so?  Then how did it come to be that she's on our official banner?

All of you must look deep inside yourselves and ask; where would Luna stand?

Lies and propaganda is the way of the ~Lawful~ it seems. I do not believe you or your official banner!

(Guys, do we have an official banner? If not we need one right away to crush their puny banner angry.png !)

  11. Flash Gordon is a goldmine of Cheese. Basically "Cheese: The Movie", though it doesn't stop it from being awesome

Also the Star Wars Prequels were also cheese heavy(though not in a good way)

Exactly! Flash Gordon is the cheesiest movie I have ever seen! That's what makes it so unbelievably, unquestionably awesome! :D And no matter what you can't go wrong with it's theme song:

  12. These magical, colorful, pastel ponies conquered my heart in just a few short months. Yes I'd say they are my favorite alien species dethroning everything that has come before them. When you enjoy occasionally seeing pictures of your favorite videogames ,TV shows and movies ponified you know you are onto something :D

  13. I love so many books that it's basically impossible for me to pick a favorite so I'm just gonna show two books I recently read that I consider among my favorites.

One is, Ready Player One written by Ernest Cline:

    Ready-Player-One-395x600.jpg

This is a fun and exciting Sci-Fi tale and a love letter to the 80s and nerd culture. It's a fantastic book in my opinion biggrin.png!

    The other is:

The Dresden Files series from Jim Butcher

    aa-stormfront.jpg

This is a contemporary fantasy story with noire elements and a very compelling main character and supporting cast and a very interesting world. I'm only at the second book (from what I can tell each book is it's own story but certain plot elements carry over from one to another) but what I have read so far is fantastic! Murder mysteries with Werewolves, Noire atmosphere with Wizards and Paranormal Entities. At first it might look like an unlikely combination but it works so well, it really has to be read to be believed!

  14. I dunno, man. Having a serious atmosphere, at least for one season, would be pretty awesome.

I want some kind of lengthy story arc in the upcoming seasons. It doesn't have to be grim or dark, but a more serious look at Equestria certainly wouldn't hurt anything.

Don't misunderstand me having something like that happen could make for an awesome season in my opinion. Both having one of the characters (mostly notably Twilight Sparkle) fighting against their darker side and having a villain who plots and works against the characters ,while still keeping in the "spirit of the show", for an entire season could turn out really well.

I'm not sure I would like if things kept being serious all the time though. I think I'd miss episodes like "Hurricane Fluttershy" or "May the Best Pet Win" (random episode that popped into my head) and other more lighthearted ones. It would be great to have an entire season like "A Canterlot Wedding" or possible even more serious but a permanent change to the darker could (for more than one or two seasons) wouldn't work all that well for me.

  15. I have had self confidence issues and I have been really shy for a long time. As time went on I started losing all motivation and was caught in a downward spiral. I felt like nobody really cared about me. I didn't use to be like that but something happened in my personal life from which I couldn't really recover.

Then a friend got me to watch MLP. After I finished watching the current three seasons of Friendship is Magic I wanted to have something to do that was related to the series. So I joined this community. Since then I noticed myself being a lot more extrovert and outgoing then ever. I am a lot happier now then I have been in the last three-four years. I have started writing short stories again which used to be one of my favorite hobbies but I haven't done it in a long time prior to this.

Being a brony for me has been a life changing experience. Although I do have a tendency to magnify some problems out of proportion and dragging myself even further down the show and the brony community helped me climb out the hole I crawled into. My problems might not have been as bad as I thought but it doesn't matter now because I think they are behind me.

Since then it has become important to me to make friends and show the same kindness I was shown.

Being a brony today for me is about having fun with others, making new friends and trying to be as good of a person as possible.

edit: Wow this become a lot more of a rambling speech than I meant it to be laugh.png .

  16. Nightmare Rarity wasn't the best way it could have been handled. I'd much rather have the character's own traits and flaws turn her against her friends than some possession garbage.

Wouldn't it be interesting to see Twilight Sparkle exploring dark magic over an extended period of time, hoping that it would help her be a better ruler, only for it to lead to a massive schism between her and her friends?

Hell, maybe she becomes the next King Sombra, takes over Canterlot, and her friends need to stop her before her influence spreads throughout Equestria.

"Wouldn't it be interesting to see Twilight Sparkle exploring dark magic over an extended period of time, hoping that it would help her be a better ruler, only for it to lead to a massive schism between her and her friends?"

That is pretty much the main idea behind the fanfiction I started writing not too long ago biggrin.png.

It would be interesting to see an episode like that but for it to be done well the show would have to take a turn towards a more serious atmosphere and I'm not sure everybody would like that. Even I ,who thinks something like this happening could make for a really awesome and deep story, would have second thoughts about it.

  17. I don't cry at very many games, but I can say that I cried at certain sections of Persona 3 AND 4. The love I had for some of the characters in those games were so strong

It's amazing how much that series can get you to care about it's characters. I have never actually cried because of it but I have pretty much felt every emotion from being happy and laughing to worried and depressed. The part where

we had to save Nanako and when she was in hospital

in Persona 4 being a prime example of that! That's one of the main reasons I love that series so much :D.
