  1. Anyway, to all the people pointing out the number of votes Rarity has, keep in mind this topic was made in 2012. Things were different back then, and it doesn't really reflect on the fandom's current thoughts anymore - and I would say Rarity would have some votes in the fandom's current state, but I doubt it'd be this many. Just a PSA from your friendly neighborhood ghostie
  2. Well, I still can't express a feeling of agreeance with Rarity being the best choice as the on-screen development she received in S4 would be much better than any off-screen development. That and I already came up with a theory of removing one of the mane 6 for an extended period of time that I feel would have more effect on the show as a whole and potentially benefit the entire mane cast as opposed to just one pony Granted, I edited that in far after I made that post, so I'll just quote it here so you can see it
  3. If I had to choose to remove one and I couldn't say none of them, I feel the only appropriate choice would be to saw my arm off without the use of any medication and then allow myself to bleed out GOOD LUCK GETTING AN ANSWER FROM MY CORPSE
  4. I just don't know if that would be the best course of action, honestly, as Season 4 ultimately gave Rarity what many of her fans have deemed to be her best season. Given the large amounts of backlash she once received peaking during the S3 - S4 hiatus as well as the near-absent performance she had in season 3, she really needed a lot of love in Season 4 to appease the fanbase as well as make up for lost time. Maybe at a different time I could agree and say this would be interesting, but given the circumstances Rarity was facing going into Season 4 I'd say she needed the time she received from both the perspective from a fanbase point of view as well as from what her character needed in general Delving into this, actually, if we were to take a main character out of the setting for an extended period of time, why not Twilight? She has reason as new royal duties would be calling her, she was relegated to minor supporting roles in many of her appearances in S4, and she's considered to be the glue that holds the group together. How would the rest respond under those circumstances?
  5. As far as I know, actually, that was the original plan. They just scrapped it because it made Rarity seem too mean-spirited to constantly reject and try to force away someone she knew had deep feelings for her Whole reason Rarity didn't have a dedicated episode in S3. Thanks, Obama!
  6. Anyway, on topic, I'd just edit "Sonic Rainboom" from the show's canon and call it a day
  7. I would go all out gay for my moose god, @FadedSkies love u bby~
  8. I've been watching Mr. Enter's MLP reviews most of the day, and I can't help but feel that he's full of shit. If he'll hate Putting Your Hoof Down but love Sonic Rainboom, then he's nothing more than a hypocrite.

..itation as means of giving an entirely different character extended development.

There's one big reason why it's not a top-ten episode, and Rarity's performance has nothing to do with it. It's the broken climax (Celestia sitting back as Rarity et al fall, for example; if Rarity died, Celestia would've been a pariah).

"Ironically, Rarity's performance is where I classify as a moment that's both explained AND justified while delivering consequences as a result"

I'd love to see that explained, honestly.

  9. Oh, how it covers so much more than that .-. That's the scariest episode in the whole series, in my opinion, just because it's so real.
  10. I'll be honest, my favorite episode of all time across any cartoon is in this series. "The Mask." And when they revealed Kitty, the lady behind the mask, to be a cat, that scene was so intense that it still kinda scares me to this day .-. Don't know why it was so intense either, but god, those green as hell eyes man. Plus, the villain from that episode, Mad Dog, is also extremely scary because he's such a realistic villain .-.
  11. Fortunately, the writing staff remained largely the same, and the only notable departures were Merriwether Williams and Corey Powell. While I like Williams as a writer, her absence won't have any impact on Rarity for better or worse, and Powell's absence is definitely going to be a better thing as she absolutely sucked at writing Rarity. So if anything, I think she may be even better without Powell having any input Anyway, here's Rarity being so pretty, oh so pretty
  12. I go to Derpibooru and search "Rarity, safe" That way all the stuff I get shown of Rarity is safe to post on the forums.
  13. Heh. I love it when artists do crossover art with Rarity like this, and that's doubly so with White Diamonds Her dedication to Rarity and AJ both is something very impressive, honestly, and she's done so much for both of those two vastly underappreciated ponies that it's hard not to spam her pics every once in a while
  14. If I'm sitting next to one of my friends who is using a computer, I like to sneak-ninja and press it for fun. I also use it when I'm jokingly Caps Locking someone to death, but I'm about 50-50 on Caps lock and holding shift. Case in point, I never use it seriously.
  15. I posted there all of the time when I was a newbie, but I don't anymore because of the fact I just don't like meeting new people at this point in my life. Too many other things to manage, and it's not like I was a very easy person to talk to at any point in my life, let alone just my time on these forums My desire to meet new people just stopped is what it all comes down to, I guess.
  16. I know what it's like, my man. I'm ghostie I AM THE GREAT SAVIOR OF THE RFC. I BROUGHT THIS THREAD BACK FROM THE DEAD AND PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT PART IN FENDING OFF RARITY HATE FROM MLPF FROM LATE 2013 - 2014. I AM THE MESSIAH AND ALL SHALL BOW DOWN BEFORE MY POWER. MUAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! ...erm, sorry, what? I've defended her more times than I can count, sadly, but 'tis just the way things go. No character is free from it, so the fact that it's gotten down to being no more than her mane 6 counterparts on this particular site is something I think is pretty great. She even won a tourney a while back
  17. To be fair, you should see it when a Rarihate topic comes up. It isn't very often, not nearly as much as it used to be, but the memories of swarming those and partaking in some epic battles with the other side still rings true in my head to this day. Our weapons may have been jewel encrusted, but they were also vicious Ahh, memories~
  18. Rarity is unique, I must say I don't know if there's a character who warrants a comparison, really. We were talking Rouge up there, but that's a weak comparison as Rouge lacks all the virtues and whatnot that makes Rarity such a great and role-defying character. Plus Rouge isn't really either a protagonist or an antagonist, from what I can tell. Sooooooooooooooooooo....Rarity is truly a Rarity in every sense of the word. That is my final verdict!
  19. HEY THOSE ARE TWO QUALITY CHARACTERS Rouge is really just Rarity minus all the virtues, anyway

  22. That used to happen all the time during our initial growth, and it felt like it was a daily thing at one point. A couple of times it was just even things that weren't reasons but just trying to be unkind in general by posting some less-than-friendly pictures. Thankfully, that hasn't happened for months as far as I'm aware, so improvement is there I don't really have much to say on the topic of ponybashing, surprisingly. It's just frustrating, pointless, and it certainly doesn't make the one doing the nay saying any friends. I support people being able to share their opinions as they please, however, but that doesn't mean that they're immune from someone pointing out the perceived faults in the line of logic and I do expect the one doing the bashing to try to back up their logic or just lay their sword down in defeat.
  23. Placed an order for this today: Managed to pick it up while there was a nice deal going on it, so I'm happy and ready for it to get here
