  1. A classing JRPG where you can play as Rarity and save the world from unfabulous things Or a solid dating sim where you can romance Rarity. Either of those two would work just fine, in my opinion
  2. Err...does my Rarity plushie count as a weapon? I guess she could qualify as a Weapon of Mass Fabulosity
  3. I think that the episode should be one without a titular mane pony, given this is a character based show, and one that introduces them all well and allows the viewer to get a good enough impression of them to start to understand them better. That's why episodes like "Sonic Rainboom" and "Dragonshy" among others that exploit flaws as well as make one of the mane 6 look bad shouldn't be used as an introductory episode. First impressions mean a lot, and a bad first impression only leads to a negative opinion. I think it should be the first episode, to be honest, as it introduces the characters well. I'm sure there's better out there, though. Thing is, I'd love to say "The Best Night Ever" due to the fact it has such excellent characterization as well as a good amount of screen time for each mane 6 pony, but the problem with that is that is it's the last episode in an arc, and you'd have to really watch "Ticket Master" and "Suited for Success" to get it, and yeahhh...might create a bit of a problem understanding it, and I'm under the impression that forcing someone to sit down and watch 3 episodes isn't going to come off well Either that or toss them in with "Rarity Takes Manehattan" or "Suited for Success" and let them see best pony at her finest
  4. Soldier Raritu with a fab gun! She is so pwetty, even as a serious soldier Granted, she is best soldier. Prettiest soldier for sure She can shoot me with a gun any time she likes
  5. There are rarely any moments in the show itself, but the reference to Icarus in Sonic Rainboom made me want to puke. The whole second half of that episode in general is pretty cringe-inducing to me, actually. Nearly killed the whole show for me so early on
  6. Real nice move, Valve.

Worst part is that, despite making it to where these games no longer work if bought in another area, there are no refunds being offered, so you got a broken product and Valve is keeping all of the money. I know they do a thing where there's a general "no refunds rule" but they also don't deliberately make it to where people can't play games purchased from them, either. So they just made off with breaking a bunch of games for a bunch of people and they kept all of the money...

The irony is these are supposed to discourage piracy but they tend to do the exact opposite, I guarantee you someone somewhere is working on some patch/exploit around this.

  7. My big one is Rarity stuff I also collect sports memoribilia. I have a few notables, such as a Cal Ripken Jr. autograph, a Y.A. Tittle autograph, and a Roger Staubach autograph. It is 1 am and I don't feel like gathering it all up for a picture, but I will flash my Ty Cobb card real quick, just cuz I love it
  8. Raridee has the prettiest eyes out of all the ponies, to be honest. If you look into them long enough, they're pretty much hypontizing Now, look deep into those eyes while listening to this song and tell me that they aren't all-consuming and mesmerizing to the point of mind control
  9. I can't wait until summertime gets here and I can feel that warm Texas sun hitting my skin every time I step outside <3

  10. Oh dear... Raritu is a very strong pony. She is tougher than she appears, but mentally and phsyically, not only showing knowledge of martial arts on occassion but also being able to use her wits in a situation that many assumed would be a save the princess type ordeal. This, however... This is simply too much for poor beautypone to bear!! Knowing Rarity, though, she immediately rushed to the aid of Big Mac and ripped that confused venom symbiote straight off of his body and put him in some new duds to suit his style perfectly :grin2: Good as new!

  11. One thing that immediately comes to mind is exploring the relationship between Rarity and Rainbow Dash more, as it feels as if they are hardly friends at times and I feel as if they could have an interesting dynamic between each other I also want to see them handle Twilight better, as I feel her character took a sharp decline in quality during Season 4. I also want to see the rest of the mane 6 play more of a factor in the major episodes as opposed to making them all about Twilight. Another thing that comes to mind is less fan pandering, although I've got a feeling this season is going to be the most unsubtle fanservice-y season yet. Fanservice is fine in my eyes, as long as it is done subtly and doesn't feel out of place. Not done for the fandom, but done with the fandom in mind, so to speak. Subtle fanservice that doesn't take away from the episode's quality is a-ok, but unsubtle and blatant fanservice such as the upcoming 100th episode is not okay. A Trixie appearance would be nice. She's my 2nd favorite pony and she's only been in two episodes, so I have my hopes high here Unfortunately it seems as if she's been relegated to the comics for now, which sucks, because the comics generally suck in terms of quality. I can still hope, though Most of all, I just want Rarity to be well written like she was in Season 4. Don't give me another Season 3 in terms of quality of my favorite character, I want the real Rarity dammit She's my favorite character and honestly about 90% of the reason I even watch the show, and there is nothing that irks me more than when they write her character poorly. Please don't mess up her character, I'd do anything .-.
  12. Rarity's beauty has been known to elicit some rather curious reactions at times... Not that it is a bad thing of course I, for one, would find it to be a great honor to have my face melted and/or contorted by Rarity's beauty. It would be a badge of pride and prestige, honestly Who wouldn't find joy in having their face disfigured by Rarity's beauty, anyhow? I for one think it should be a ritual to go before the goddess herself and have your face altered by her beauty, such as the good sir here who was one of the first ones to be seen having his face contorted by her beauty. Not that he was the first to have this happen as a result of Rarity's beauty because that is highly improbable, but he was the first to show just how powerful Rurdee's beauty can be to a wide audience on the small screen I for one find him to be representative of all of Rarity's loyal followers. He is our mascot, in my eyes - because Rarity cannot be a mascot That'd be like making a queen the court jester. It doesn't work like that. But this makes me think of who we are - we are Rurdee fans who are in awe of her beauty, and there is no more fitting face of awe than that of Donny Swineclop
  13. I, for one, fully support the fandom breaking into a state of civil war, preferably along the lines of the Sengoku Jidai period of Japan. It'd be fun for the whole family! I don't think we've formed our own tribal, Lord of the Flies-esque society yet. That'd be pretty boss.
  14. Pepsi, Potato chips, and Gothic II. Doesn't get much better than this <3

Yuh. Amazing RPG from the early 2000s. It was ported to the English language so the voice acting can be a bit laughable at times, but that's really the only bad thing in a sea of good.

Extremely brutal early game, though. The original Baldur's Gate and Morrowind are cakewalks compared to this early game, I gotta say xP

  15. Fan Club for most sweg background pony has been gathering dust. Let's mend that, shall we?
  16. 1. Rarity :grin2: 2. The Great and Powerful Trixie 3. Applejack 4. Twilight Sparkle 5. Sweetie Belle 6. Rainbow Dash 7. Pinkie Pie 8. Princess Celestia 9. Mjölna 10. Coco Pommel
  17. Serious Rurdee...she sets herself up in a stance before the play starts... Many would assume she did not know anything about a rough and tumble sport such as football, but that was far from true - her father's cutie mark tells all, of course, Whichever poor pony on the other team came running at her were in for the surprise of a life time... The QB for the other team signaled for the ball to be hiked. She hoofed it to the running back who found a lane right between two offensive lineman - run to daylight, as they called it back in the olden days of the sport. She was right there waiting though, backing the line that the runner had broken through. The enemy grew closer constantly before Rarity pounced from the side. BAP! The last noise heard for at least a minute or two was the sound of Rarity's amazing tackle. The silence was only broken by the other team's running back, and that was the sound of a groan as she picked herself up off of the ground. Safe to suffice that no one would question Rarity's toughness from that point forward
  18. Wrote something down with my left hand and I wasn't very good. I put my pen in my right hand after that and held it like I did with my left hand and I was reminded that just because I can do many things right handed, writing isn't one of them.
  19. Sharing is caring, and Rurdee is great about both sharing and caring Look as she shares her probably highly saturated noodles with a hungry little Sweetie Belle :grin2: She's probably like "Oh, they'd be bad for my figure anyway so go ahead and take them" but in all truth she sees that Sweetie Belle likes her noodles and is generously sharing them with her so she could be happy Best pony
  20. I think Rarity's house looks pretty, to be honest It has a very unique design reminiscent of a carousel and is nice and roomy on the inside, and being someone who's lived in the country his whole life roominess is very important Fluttershy's cottage seems to be a popular choice here, but I don't know if that'd be a good fit for me. I really like the location, being tucked away in the forest, but it just looks so cramped on the inside that I don't know if I could be able to manage
  21. I used to do a thing where I talked about music I really liked, what I liked about it, and why the song was f'n a, brah. I covered a wide range of time periods for my preferred genre of music, which is rock in general, from the Rolling Stones to the Arctic Monkeys. I do listen to a wide variety of rock/metal/grunge/whatever, this is true - one day I can be listening to the Beatles while the next I put on Slayer and jam out to them I like music, basically, and sometimes I just hear a song that I enjoy so immensely that I feel a need to express how I feel about it. This is one of those songs So, without further ado... "In a Big Country" - Big Country Come up screaming Come up screaming I never seen you look like this without a reason Another promise fallen through, another season passes by you I never took the smile away from anybody's face And that's a desperate way to look for someone who is still a child In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive I thought that pain and truth were things that really mattered But you can't stay here with every single hope you had shattered I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive So take that look out of here, it doesn't fit you Because it's happened doesn't mean you've been discarded Pull up your head off the floor, come up screaming Cry out for everything you ever might have wanted I thought that pain and truth were things that really mattered But you can't stay here with every single hope you had shattered I'm not expecting to grow flowers in the desert But I can live and breathe and see the sun in wintertime In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive In a big country dreams stay with you Like a lover's voice fires the mountainside Stay alive For starters, I didn't make a Freudian Slip - the band is named "Big Country" and the song is "In a Big Country." The band themselves hail from Scotland, and, because it seems the Isles are like Sparta except with music instead of warriors because of how many talented artists they have given us over the years, these guys are no exception. They are considered to be a one hit wonder stateside with this song being their hit, they are unique amongst their peers for incorporating the sounds of their homeland into the majority of their songs - for instance, the guitarist in this song manages to imitate bagpipes during a couple of points in the song which I would think of as being his solos, which I think is pretty fricken' sweet. I actually discovered this when I was about 12 or 13 years old, when my fascination with music was undoubtedly at its peak and I could even call myself a true multi-instrumentalist. It had come on a VH1 special of One Hit Wonders of the 1980s and I was moved by the passion I felt in the song itself. This song is very fiery and very emotional, and it wears the passion in it on its sleeve - whether it be the breakneck speeds and high pitched wailings of the guitar, the bassline that often switches from supreme to submissive, or the uplifiting and personal message that the lyrics portray, this song comes together to form a true gem and a song that is very tragically overlooked stateside. The lyrics strike me as being sung to a troubled person. It's validating with lines like, "I've never seen you look like this without a reason" and acknowledges sadness in the experience, but encourages a more positive outlook at the same time. Lines like "That's a desperate way to look for someone who's still a child" seems to sound like the person is being a bit dramatic, but the overall message is to not let one thing get in the way of enjoying all the great things in life. Yeahh, things won't be miraculously beautiful, but it can still be good. Don't let the pain in the realization of whatever you just discovered rule your life- fight for what you want, because you deserve it. It is a very motivational song with some very uplifting undertones and I absolutely love that about it, and, combined with the fiery passion that is basically audible within the music you hear as the song plays out, it manages to be a tour de force of music that is uplifting while still being emotionally complex. The band maintained a good amount of popularity in Europe despite never charting again after this song in the USA. The band's frontman, however, had this to say in regards to the band's status as a One Hit Wonder: "If we're known for nothing more than just that one song, I'd be pretty happy with that." -Stuart Adamson I cannot stress how much I love this quote. The passion you can hear in this one song alone is enough to validate the band's love of music, but this shows a high degree of artistic integrity as well. It isn't about the fame or the money, it's about the core of it - and that's the pictures you paint with sounds and how they not only affect you but those around you. This shows an unbridled love of the medium in so few words that it is just awe inspiring. I just wanted to say that, because I love that quote Back to the music portion, I feel I haven't covered the guitar in this song adequately enough - this is my personal favorite guitar part in any song I've ever heard in my life, and that's a long list, I assure you. It moves at breakneck speeds throughout the majority of the song, and just the thought of playing it alone makes my right hand wrist burn as if I've been speed strumming for almost 5 minutes straight...like this song does It's incredible, really, how he manages to have the endurace to last throughout the song at the speed he's playing at. It's also incredible how he is playing so much faster than the rest of the band, yet the song itself still feels natural and the guitar itself doesn't feel saturated with some guy trying to over-complicate his part, which I often feel to be a problem in this scenario. It is far from a problem in this song, however, and manages to actually make the song better while at it. My personal favorite part about the epic-ness of the guitar part, however, is the wailing of the guitar you hear throughout. It's loud, and it's repeptitive, but it has soul nonetheless. It evokes a degree of emotion out of me, actually. It sounds tormented at parts and it sounds determined at others, but all in all it just portrays the emotions of the song very well. Unlike the main part of the song, however, the wailing isn't nearly as complex to play. He didn't try to keep the song difficult and fast, and I love that - he recognized what would go best in this part and worked it to perfection. Lastly on the guitar part, the 2 guitar solos (which are exactly the same) is the guitarist in this song making an attempt to imitate bagpipes with his guitar, which I really find to just be awesome, especially because he does it so well. I really just adore the guitar in this song especially, and if you didn't catch the reasons I listed above, I will just go on the record to say it is overflowing with soul. That's the best part of the guitar in this song is that it has unbridled spirit and passion, and damn, do I love it for that. It's just overall a song really worth checking out if you haven't heard it before. It is one of the most under-appreciated songs I've ever had the pleasure of finding and it is definitely worth a look Until next time! -ghostfacekiller39
  22. I feel as if I must disagree with you here, DQ. Your entire argument is based on this assumption: These clearly are your thoughts. What you care about and what you want to see. That's perfectly fine, of course. I can't help but find fault in this point, however, as it's assuming that every single person in this fandom thinks in this manner. I'll put it bluntly, I can't really say I think you're of the authority to speak for such a large group of people in this manner unless you've asked every single person in this fandom what they care about in this show and those 3 things were their response - which, you haven't, because I know for a fact you didn't ask me Furthermore, while I do agree that it is a poor argument as to why one would avoid the episode all together, I do think that many would have a sense of dread and nervousness about this episode because of the very reason of fanon being broken, particularly those who have grown attached to the personalities of the background ponies. I know for a fact that I get really nervous before a Rarity episode airs. I get shaky, my arms and legs feel like I've just run a mile, etc. I worry about her being written poorly like she was in "Sonic Rainboom" among other things, as I don't like seeing her deviate so far from the character I've grown to love. I'd place money on this being why many would feel the same way about this episode - they've grown attached to the personalities the fandom themselves has imprinted on the character. It's quite literally one of the only explanations as the only general background pony that's been given a canon personality in the show that I can think of, and please correct me if I'm wrong and I'm leaving one out, is Derpy Hooves. It's either the personalities they've been given by the fandom or the character design, but I digress on that last note. They've grown to cherish the personalities and whatnot that these ponies have been given. That much is clear, as background ponies in this fandom are quite popular and you'd be hard pressed to look through a thread on these very forums without a background pony appearing in a signature or an avatar. Many of these ponies haven't had a single canonical speaking line, either, so it's all up to what lines they have been given in fanfiction, fanmade videos, what they're being drawn as doing in fanart, etc, to give them the personality that makes people like them. What if these personalities were to be destroyed by canon? That would be a huge game changer for the fan's enjoyment of the product, no doubt. It wouldn't be the same character they've grown to enjoy and care about, it'd be something completely different, and it wouldn't go away. It'd be stuck as canon and there'd be no way around it. And like you yourself have brought up in the past, DQ, writers aren't allowed to look at 3rd parties for inspiration. It's a safe bet that they don't know every nook and cranny of the personalities the fandom has imprinted on each individual background pony and that they just have a base knowledge of what the fans have come up with. If that is the case and they do their jobs within the rules and don't use 3rd parties for direct inspiration, the probability of them messing up in this regard is rather high. They can't know everything, they can only know the bare basics based solely upon what they cannot avoid seeing. They could mess up the personalities that the fandom has grown to cherish rather easily, actually, and there's a chance it wouldn't be for the better. Sadly, I can't say I can agree with your points here DQ, as it all traces back to the fans of the background ponies finding their enjoyment in these characters through headcanon in the first place - whether it be their own or collective fanon, and seeing that enjoyment be toppled down by irreversible canon is something that I can understand people being upset over. Just like there's no going back with the Star Wars prequels, there's no going back once this ship sets sail. They either hit it or miss it with each individual background character, and when their personal enjoyment of something is being put at risk like this, it's easy to understand why some people might be nervous as to what this episode has to offer them
