  1. First off, anyone, including myself is entitled to their feelings. So THERE. If I'm upset, I'm just going to be upset, deal. As far as the merch for older fans go, you have to learn a lesson in the magic of licensing. Hasbro didn't make those cool shoulder bags, a great website, www.welovefine.com and a fabulous team of artists is responsible for that. Hasbro? Not a hand. The vinyl figures of Dr. Whooves, Derpy, and RD? Funco. And Customs? Please dearie. I've been fixing Hasbro's toy mistakes with my own customs probably since before you've even known ponies existed. Just because I CAN make quality customs on my own doesn't mean that I wouldn't like to see Hasbro make higher quality merchandise featuring their own characters from the get go as well. If I'm mad, it's because I already watched this franchise practically DIE once because of the mistakes they made like this. And you'll just have to forgive me if I don't want to watch it go down that very painful road again. It was NOT pretty the first time. (PS, And honestly, with the thousands upon THOUSANDS of dollars I've spent on Pony merch, I think I'm a little entitled to my feels. )
  2. Look at that Chrysalis toy and tell me that again. That thing should be burned, not mass produced. And not incompetent? Clearly you weren't around for g2 or G3-3.5; but a quick Google search will show you Hasbro's sordid pony past. I will concede that Hasbro makes the occasionally intelligent decision, Derpy being one of the rare ones. But the stupid ones come far more often it seems than the smart ones. As I said in my initial post, the toy scene this year isn't completely grim. They did do some decent stuff. But the stuff they did badly, they did *horridly*.
  3. Why would they make Twilight an Alicorn? At this point, it's Hasbro's game, and Hasbro is Crazy. Nothing they do EVER makes sense. (I've been collecting MLP for way too long...experience tells me this...) don't put anything past them....
  4. I am overall very disappointed with their offerings this year. That Chrysalis is not just lazy it's SHAMEFUL. You have the audacity, the GALL to try and pass of YET ANOTHER CELESTIA MOLD off on us as an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CHARACTER?! No Hasbro. Just no. I'm not doing that. That made me so very mad. The only place where they seem to be "shining" is the hard bodied offerings, like the blind bag and hard figurines. Their brushable category just makes me want to throw things into a fire. A big, (go ahead get mad) brushable pony fueled fire, fueled by Alicorn Twilights, and constant re-releases of every Mane 6 character they've shoved down my throat for the past year when they've got HUNDREDs of other ponies in their intellectual property pool they could have made instead. Hooray for finally having a little mass released Derpy, how long have we been asking for that? Wonder how hard she'll be to find? (Very.) And Lyra...even though they already made her once... I'm interested in this pony though. I'm wondering if she's Twilight's replacement at this point. After all, her cutie mark is a sun, and the definition of Twilight is: the light from the sky between full night and sunrise (mirriam webster)
  5. Oh NO....They put your cutie mark on your arm you're still a...BLANK FLANK!!!!! (I'm only teasing. It looks great! I want to get Luna's cutie mark on my flank myself, but I don't think my hubby would be pleased XD)
  6. I only painted the wings my dear It's easy enough to match the paint color to her body color, so there's no reason to do a full body repaint. Besides, then you have to fuss with repainting eyes and cutiemarks and that's just too much of the E word for me. (Effort )
  7. I forgot to readd that when I rewrote my post XD Yes, acetone and q-tips and a lot of careful patience. And I COULD use sand paper. It would have to be super super fine though and even then because of the material it's made of I have a feeling it would leave trace scratch marks. So I just left her as is ^^
  8. Thanks! I was very tempted to take an exacto knife to the seam on the top of her hair, but I wasn't sure how well I could actually carve JUST the excess seam off. I really like the designs of both as well, but I like how the Funco one's hair is a little more 3 dimensional looking. She was entirely custom mixed paint as far as her yellow wings. I used apple barrel acrylic paint from walmart for the yellow and mixed it down lighter using skull white from Games Workshop. The pink is just straight pastel pink apple barrel paint. It was just the perfect color :3 As far as customs go, don't worry about not getting the color just right, it's like painting a wall: mix mix mix and do tiny spots until you get the color JUST right then paint over the swatch spots. SO easy. Just make sure you have a variety of brush sizes available to you so you can get in all the tiny little crevices
  9. Haha, well spotted! Seems I can't fool you Yes she is indeed a Design a pony Fluttershy that I customized to look proper by removing all those god awful tattoos, and hand painted and matched her body and hair colors. I just couldn't resist seeing if anyone would be able to spot her differences. I may pick up the funco one just so she has a little twin sister (the Funco ones are about an inch shorter than the design a ponies) but I'm DEFINITELY picking up a red bowtie Doctor Whooves
  10. Trixie's mom has goooot it goin' on! Trixie can't you see, you're just not the filly for me...
  11. Oh, you mean this darling little darling that I picked up at Target the other day? I just adore her! At about 6.5 inches tall, she's so cute Sorry for the grainy picture quality. That's what happens when you use your phone camera with your high quality photo studio XD
  12. Not gonna lie, if they actually pull this off and make the characters look proper, I will be spending SO much money there. SO much. I hope they're actually 14-18 inches tall. Not tiny little things. That would be nice....
  13. Yeah, I picked the first two up the other day. I really like it so far, but I have to say, I noticed that the characters in general all seem to be a lot angrier than in the show. Applejack in particular always seems to have a pissed off expression on her face. I like the art, but I think the writers need to stick a little closer to the actual CHARACTER of the characters. They're trying too hard to make the comic feel hardcore for the grown ups when they just need to lay back a little and let the stories happen.
  14. It's not 1080p unless it's bluray, mah dear I'm pretty sure it's standard Dolbly 5.1. I'm still really hesitant about purchasing this myself. The "brightness" mentioned by others translates to me as the issue that the other Shout Factory releases had, where the colors were brightened to the point of being eye burning whitewashy-ness of DOOM. Not really sure if I want to take a gamble on it. Maybe if I take a wild hare I'll post screen caps of what I mean....If I can screen cap from VLC. Hum. I'll have to do research. *Twilight Mode ON*
  15. If you didn't do it, I was going to. There's just no way that 5 million folks out there cast one separate vote for MLP. Heck, the President had to fight tooth and nail for that many votes in a state, what makes ya think a kids show could garner that kind of numbers? Nah, this was purely hacked to bits, or someone sitting by their computer clicking their nights away. Don't get me wrong, it's cool that the show won and all, but the sheer massive gap in the win numbers says that it isn't a legit victory, and that kind of cheapens it for me...
