Jesus Christ............on currently dismantling my server and by surprise, i pulled out one of the RAMs and guess what. Its black and crisp. Mind is blown to kingdom come right now, b/c i have never seen stuff like that happen other than a power supply.
Yeah, I've had individual chips burn out before. Manufacturing flaws can get by, and even if they test right at first a little bit of heat can start a cascade to a whole lot of heat.
