  1. Jeric's post in How To Delete Account? was marked as the answer
Please read this FAQ. Please file a support ticket with any personal details you want adjusted. That said, we do not remove or delete accounts.
  2. Jeric's post in app? was marked as the answer
No there is not. It is not something we are presently designing. This is asked every month either here or in the feedback forum. The short answer is no. The long answer is development would prefer a usable mobile site for the forums, not an app. Unfortunately IPB mobile is limited so that will be not something we can implement soon.

I know this is likely not the answer you wanted to hear, but it is where we stand.

I will go ahead and close this as answered.
  3. Jeric's post in Unable to change my profile background was marked as the answer
That is a server side error, but I wasn't able to replicate it. That said, I manually uploaded the image to your background for you.
  4. Jeric's post in Deleting Status' Glitch? was marked as the answer
This is a known issue and we actually have Development task assigned to this in the pipeline (complete with assignment and triage level). This in particular is on the to do list ever since Status Updates broke some time back. For a while you could't even lock/hide the main status update. That element was resolved. This is next.

This topic concerns a question or other form of request for assistance, and has thus been sentenced to the Site Questions & Tech Support forum.

Anyhoo ... We used to have a master list of all known Tech Issues on deck to be investigated or fixed. I'll get with Koukatsu and Dawn Rider to reconstruct that list.
  5. Jeric's post in Not getting any real-time notifications of statuses or mail? was marked as the answer
This was resolved the other day. Notifications are live now. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
  6. Jeric's post in Problems with Account connecting with MLPForums was marked as the answer
This issue was resolved as well and was related to a redirect error with the Terms of Service page.
  7. Jeric's post in How to Delete Posts? was marked as the answer
Members cannot delete posts on their own. Please PM me with the post link and I'll review and delete/hide if needed.
  8. Jeric's post in Do you feel pressured being unaturally nice when you get warnings was marked as the answer
I have kept this open for several days allowing people to vent or provide their opinions. What we are ultimately talking about is application of the abuse rule. Good news. In the last few weeks actual action on reported and discovered abuse has dropped dramatically. Either that means we as staff are focusing less of warning people outside of a courtesy reminder to prevent a topic from turning into an argument, or the community itself is just chill lately. Maybe a mixture of both. Probably a mixture of both.

I have some cold water to throw on this thread however. There are some things that will always be considered a bad idea to type on this forum. One example would be anything that attacks a group of people, or an individual, based on race, sexual orientation, sex, or religion - specifically slurs. Call me Mr. Rogers, but I feel that members are entitled to have a niche on the internet to call their own without the worry of being called a faggot if they are gay, or subhuman for actually having a religion. That goes beyond a cerebral examination of individual, political, or societal issues ... and it has no place here. Directly insulting people ... not a good thing either. It is absolutely fine to say you think someone's opinion is wrong because 'x'. Calling them a dumbass or autist just because of their stated opinion doesn't agree with you ... that won't fly either. This is not  a hard thing to avoid. If avoiding it is unnatural to you ... I don't know what I can really say to you. As with NSFW, there are plenty of sites that allow unrestricted discussion. We don't want to be a pepper too. We like being unique. It suits us.

The abuse rule is not going away.

I'm calling this discussion closed. Thank you all who participated.
  9. Jeric's post in Ponyville Ciderfest group was marked as the answer
BABSCon is actually one of our Poniverse partners and we hosted a panel and table there. The Badge was for anyone who attended the Poniverse panel or stopped by our table. PCF should reach out to out PR head @Simon if they are interested in a partnership.

Get your best answer above. Thanks
  11. Jeric's post in Setting ranks? was marked as the answer
At thus time user selectable badges are not a feature, and due to their purpose user selectable badges are not something on the development radar. I'll close this question out as it has been completely answered.

You nailed it. Rare instance of a question being marked as best answer!
  14. Jeric's post in Forum Category Idea was marked as the answer
If there is a website that you like that you would like to review and engage the community on ... Media Discussion has a web prefix. There just isn't enough use of it to necessitate it. I personally would love to see a Computer Science forum ... but again not enough interest.

Of course for it to be a topic ... if has to be framed in a way that would drive discussion ... otherwise it would likely be better suited as a blog based around web site reviews.
  15. Jeric's post in Having trouble posting my signature was marked as the answer
This is how - using your actual profile.

Step 1 (above) Ctrl X to cut the image url

Step 2 - click on the image icon

Step 3 - past in the image url

Step 4 - serve with your choice of garnish and enjoy

Let me know if that helps.

  17. Jeric's post in This is a thing... (Glitch? or computer problems?) was marked as the answer
It is a known issue. You just need to refresh and it will resolve itself.
  18. Jeric's post in Notifications don't load like normal in Main page. was marked as the answer
, this will happen when using HTTP instead of HTTPS ... we recently made a change as a test which has led to some expected minor 'glitches'.

We are actually aware of this issue and have alerted Feld0. In the interim ... navigate and bookmark https://mlpforums.com/. That will work.

  20. Jeric's post in Your Topic has been approved? was marked as the answer
All of the above are accurate, but wait there's more! You receive the notification if:

    1. You post is specific section requiring approval (such is Site Questions and Technical Support)  and a staff member (Sectional, Moderator, Admin, or IT) approve it.

    2. You are on Moderation Queue (read here), and your post may have been approved. *

    3. You created a topic, and a member on Moderation Queue has made a post that staff have approved. *

    4. You choose to manually send the post or topic to a Moderator using the 'Wait for Approval' function and it was approved. *

    5. Another member posted in your topic and choose to manually send the post to a Moderator using the 'Wait for Approval' function and it was approved. *

    * Note due to a failure in design the Mod Queue does not allow Moderators to deny the post in the 'pending state' that it is in. If we deem the post not within the rules, we will have to approve it and then hide it. I actually just did this to you to show you how it looks.
  21. Jeric's post in delete/get rid of unwanted Blogs? was marked as the answer
I'm grabbing screen shots of a few items for you now.

    Ok.

    1. Members can delete Blog Entries.

    2. Members cannot delete the Blog itself. This is not a supported feature.

    3. What you can do is Archive the Blog. But as far as deleting it ... no.

  22. Jeric's post in "The Helper" Subscriber problem/question was marked as the answer
Oi! Can you open a support ticket and I'll get Feld0 on this ASAP
  23. Jeric's post in ? in Equestria (CYOA, need Admin/Mod approval) was marked as the answer
, CYOA would work best as a Fan Art - Fan Fiction topic as a 2nd person POV CYOA narrative is a form of creative writing. How I would imagine this on MLPF is a series of polls. Start the story with the options listed in a poll. Once the readers have made their choice you have the ability to update the poll after continuing the story with the next set of actions available. Wash, rinse, repeat.
  24. Jeric's post in Can view site inside text editor was marked as the answer
This is a known bug that comes up here on rare occasions. Let's just say that IBPs' incorporation of CKEditor has a few issues this being one. We did investigate this in the past and it was determined that the time needed to fully investigate this and attempt to fix would be too much of a resource drain for something that comes up so infrequently and has a simple work around (refresh the page).
  25. Jeric's post in Where would you post a mlp song cover? was marked as the answer
Might I suggestion posting on Pony.FM

Your log in there is the same as here. Hit me up if you need any help
