  1. "Release the next monster!" Lieutenant Ares shouted.

    Nothing happened for 10 seconds.

    "*AHEM* I said... release the next monster!!" he shouted even louder.

    Nothing again.

    "Excuse me for a second, General." Ares said as he stepped down from his platform, opened a trap door on the ground, and walked in. 30 seconds later you can hear screams coming from the "dungeons", as well as General Ares yelling his lungs out at one of his men.

    30 more seconds passed. The Lieutenant stepped out of the dungeon.

    "Apologies for the inconvenience. Some genius decided to take a coffee break down there."

    The next monster was soon released. Out came a Slime-like creature. Upon closer inspection, it turns out to be a snail after it revealed its Shell. The Cochlea was said to be the manifestation of one's laziness. How fitting.

    It's also too lazy to attack you first. Go ahead. Break a leg.

    Oh wait. You can't. It doesn't have legs.

    ...do it anyways.

  2. @@Redeye,

    Estiel grunted, but used the attack to his advantage. He grabbed the boar and stabbed one of his sai into the boar and wrapped it around its neck, attempting to choke the life out of the creature. For good measure, he stabbed his other sai into the middle of the boar's head.

    It definitely did the trick. You can hear the monster's neck snap as you tug on the chain. Before your eyes, you see the Aper glow black, and then it explodes into a cloud of dark lights. They fade after a second.

    Estiel received 1 EXP.

    The General and his lieutenants begin to clap, but not too loudly. They, too, know the dark secrets of monsters.

    "Well done, Estiel. Your skills appear to be quite... interesting. I'm sure you'll fit in quite nicely here." the General said.

    "You may exit the arena. Next up: Tara Droggn." Lieutenant Athena said.

  3. @@Redeye,

    "I'm sorry..." Estiel muttered, remarking upon the fact that the creature was once human. Upon saying this, he lifted his arms up. He then slammed his left foot forward and swung his arms downward until they pointed at the boar. From under his robes two sai emerged, flying towards the boar at breakneck speed, a chain trailing behind each of them, apparently attached to or wrapped around Estiel's arms.

    The attack manages to connect almost perfectly. The sai manage to pierce through the Aper's "armor" as it lets out a grunt of anger.

  4. "Release the monster!" the General commanded.

    The trap door in the center of the arena opened up. When it closed, Estiel received a good glimpse of his foe. A menacing-looking Boar stared back at him. It had very monster-like traits, including the trademarked Glowing White eyeballs. Many recordings tell of how Monstrous Boars are manifestations of humans whom has succumbed to excessive gluttony. This was definitely one of the more premature ones, considering how small it is compared to a completely insidious one.

  5. Out of all 20, each and every one of you are seemingly different.

    There's a middle-aged man covered in white armor, with light brown hair. A redheaded, scruffy man with an unusual-looking ring. A blue-haired woman in an elegant dress. A tall, muscular dude who looks very cocky about this. A black-haired warrioress. Two twins, one with white hair and clothing and one with black hair and clothing. A man dressed in purple, with a sweet-looking hat and a guitar on his back. A cloaked man whom looks like he's possibly carrying a variety of weapons with him. A hairy man who looks like he could take a shower, even worse when he has no shirt on and only wearing a pair of black jeans. A middle-aged woman with two strange-looking curved swords. A well-dressed woman who looks like she spent her husband's money on everything she's currently wearing, also wearing some sort of metallic backpack. There is even a woman who looks as if she likes to meditate all day long. This is one diverse crowd if you ever saw one.

    "Ahem! Greetings, everyone, and welcome to the MEO Training Facility! You all may know me as General Wulfric. I am the one running this place. Beside me are Lieutenant Ares and Lieutenant Athena, they will be your 'coaches' as I'd like to call them. We also have King Molech here as a special guest to witness the Initiation Event," General Wulfric said.

    "All twenty of you have signed up for this. In order to be a part of MEO, you must spend an entire year training at this facility in order to practice your abilities and become stronger. Only then will you obtain the power necessary to kill Monsters and fight crime," Lieutenant Ares explained.

    "We will make sure that everything runs smoothly, and that you all will have an enjoyable experience over these next twelve months," Lieutenant Athena said.

    "Now, we shall begin the Initiation Event," said the General. "In order to test your power and record just how much training you all will need, you will each fight a moderately-powerful Monster as a test. We will call you each down individually, you will step into the Arena, and we will unleash a Monster that we captured in the wild. After we're done, we will randomly assign you to one of two teams, and send you to your dormitories so you can get used to the place."

    Lieutenant Athena shuffles through a deck of postcards. "Estiel, please step into the arena."

  6. I have a question about the hard cap of twenty of stats. Perhaps just a hard twenty is just too... Restricting upon the devices of individuality. By the end of this rp, no matter our birth rune, we will all have the same stats, making only our appearance and potential our defining characteristics. Not me banging on the system, and I'm perfectly willing to play it as is.

    The birthrune will only become obsolete at maxium level. We won't be getting there for a while, and everything that Hederik explained is true as well. You don't have to worry about anything.

    @@Redeye,

    I am leaving for the weekend. I will be back on Sunday afternoon/Monday.

    You sure you can't access the forums via mobile at all?

    EDIT: The RP has been cancelled!

    April fools! The IC thread is actually open now. I will be DM'ing the thread every few hours in order to stall time for Waffle to return. So for now, post away! Link: https://mlpforums.com/topic/149749-crimson-requiem-ic/

    I will also edit the OP of this thread and add in the Player Database so you can keep track of your info.

    To everyone involved, make sure to Follow both this thread and the OOC thread in order to keep in touch. Don't let this roleplay die!

    Link to OOC Thread: https://mlpforums.com/topic/147570-crimson-requiem-fantasy-rp-player-entries-closed-ic-coming-soon/

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    You all have signed up for this moment. You all have had your fair share of evils, monsters, and misfortunes. You all have waited for the chance to rise up and fight back. Now is your chance.
    You all arrive at the MEO Training Facility. There are 20 of you. All with different personalities, fighting styles, looks, and potentials. You all gather in the courtyard, after passing my a heavily-guarded metal gateway. It almost feels prison-like, but you know that you're not being punished. You chose this fate. You will carry the responsibility that you created for yourself.
    The courtyard appears to be a concrete pad with an Arena in the center. Everything outwards is lush, green grass, and then beyond that are the intimidating militarized barriers that protect the facility. In the distance you can see several buildings, and a beautiful stone castle behind it all. You have arrived at the center of Merlin's Capital City, Arianburg.
    On the other side of the arena, there is a two-level stand. The bottom level is occupied by a man dressed in White and Gold, General Wulfric. Next to him are two officials. The man to the left looks awfully buff and hairy, and has a dark brown trench coat and short, white hair. The woman to the right is properly dressed, but you can clearly see the sword on her back.
    On the top level resides the Throne, with the King of Merlin sitting in it, looking down upon you all. King Molech must have been here to watch the initiation process. It was truly an honor to meet the king at such a standard event like this. Behind him was a Butler, properly dressed in black.
    It will be about 10 minutes before the Initiation begins, so you all have the freedom to speak with each other until the General is ready.
    roleplay begin ~
  8. I was unaware that acrobatics also determined hit rates. Sorry for the freakout. So when we begin, will we be just getting to the facility, meeting for the first time, or have already gone through intros and orientation. Dorm style, or separate rooms. Roommates?
    Story starts with us all arriving at MEO for the first time. First training process, 2 Teams of 10 are created. Sent to dorms for the night. Next morning some more stuff happens, etc. Pretty simple intro.
    Also I may have to close player entries now because I have to go to sleep. I'll start working on the IC thread tomorrow after I get home from school.
    Update: OP post altered. We're ready to begin. We'll have to wait til tomorrow, though. :P
  9. Like edgelords so completely saturated with generic angst that they could be the main character to Divine Gate.
    Omagosh! I forgot! Crisis! Okay, I've played many dice rolling games and this one seems to lack a stat vital to most! A hit stat. While strength determines how much damage you do when you hit, it lacks one that determines if you even land a hit! That means if you have a stat like athletics, which determines how likely you are to dodging a hit, without a hitting stat to counter it, when high levels are reached it will become wars of attrition where rarely blows land on any one turn.
    ACR determines your dodge rate. Enemies have ACR as well. No need for a redundant extra stat when ACR already determines the success of attacks.
    Plus there are plenty of methods to avoid stuff like that. Some attacks never miss, some attacks strip people of their ACR, etc.
  10. @@Redeye,
    I PM'd a friend about it, Drago Ryder. I've done RPs with him before, and we were both looking for a sort of fantasy RP.
    @@Redeye,
    Sorry to get your hopes up, but it wasn't his cup of tea. I might be able to find someone else, though.
    Waiting is always the hardest thing about RPing.
    Whoever you're influencing to come over here I would advise  reminding them that they have a day to enter before sign-ups close, just in case.
  11. After I read it, I said, woah, i didnt mean to write that. I edited the post, now he only take on the values from the strongest enemy within range. So if there is a bunch of 2 strength 2 acro enemies in range, he will only take 1 of each stat, but reducing all enemies around him, but if there is an enemy in that horde with a two and four, he will take one for strength and two for acro.
    So he debilitates all enemies, and steals the STR and ACR of the strongest enemy? That seems fine. I'm still going to have to give this power a hard cap when it comes to the amount of points he takes in for himself, or else Encious will basically snowball his way to god-tier overpoweredness towards the end of the roleplay. I also have to put "Once per Battle" restraints on it to prevent it from being spammed too much. Is that still OK with you?
  12. holy snap
    Didn't expect this thread to receive such a spike of popularity.
    Everything seems fine.
    Potential, on the other hand, will need a bit of a nerf. Since numbers in this RP are going to be relatively low, stealing HALF of EVERY ENEMY's strength and acrobatics seems a tad overpowered. I'm thinking about nerfing it to only stealing 1 STR and 1 ACR for every enemy you're fighting. The amount of points you gain from them have a hard cap of +3, meaning you can't become a god-like puncher from simply fighting 7 enemies at once. This effect may only happen once per battle in order to make things fair. Does this sound OK with you?
  13. @@Redeye,
    If you're cool with me using it for mobility still, yeah, that sounds great! I was worried something like that would be too overpowered, so I didn't suggest it.
    Sure, sounds okay with me.
    OK, now at last I can work with something. Even if we don't get 6 players, this'll do fine.
    I'll still wait until about the end of March 31st before we begin, though. I'll try not to make this RP an April Fool's joke. Try.
  14. Name- Estiel
    Birthrune- Assassin
    Sex- Male
    Age- 17
    Bio- A young, stubborn man who only speaks when he is absolutely certain of what he is saying. Despite his stubbornness, he is clearly well-read and one can tell he possesses much knowledge. However, he thinks far too much and far too quickly, making him socially awkward and emotionally unstable, his mind moving in hundreds of different directions at once. Because of this, he occasionally goes into mental overload, unable to focus and unable to act, even to move, and causing severe pain. Due to this issue, many feared he would one day turn into a monster.
    Potential- Vampiric Manifestation: Estiel can turn into a cloud of bats in order to avoid an attack or to move quickly from place to place. While the cloud of bats can separate, all the bats must be together in order to return to human form.
    Weapons-
                     Great Blood Blade- A weapon summoned from intentional self harm, this longsword has a lustrous black blade, silver hilt, and red bindings around the handle. This blade absorbs the blood of those it has killed to sharpen itself.
                     Nightfall and Nocturne- A pair of chain sai that appear to lower the light level in an area, however it is just an illusion seen by those within a 15 foot radius of the wielder, leaving the wielder vulnerable to ranged attacks.
    Appearance- Tall and slender with milky skin, ice-blue eyes and short black hair. Has sharp, pronounced features such as nose, ears, and chin. No apparent facial hair. Wears black leather armor with little protection around parts of the body required for meticulous movement, such as the neck, shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips. Gloves are studded on the knuckles for increased damage in unarmed combat. Armor has thin leather hood. Wears light, easy to discard black robes over armor.
    Everything seems in order. Let me do something fun with your Potential.
    Vampiric Manifestation: "When an enemy sends an attack at you that would normally be fatal, you will dodge said attack, 100% guaranteed. This effect may only occur once per battle."
  15. I got some new ones.
    Both are fucking disgusting.
    Attack on Titan & Sword Art Online
    I honestly think those 2 anime are poorly written, paired with cliche and subpar characters. I can somewhat forgive Sword Art Online only because the Aincrad Arc was the only memorable and half-decent arc of the story, and that I really enjoy the concept behind the anime itself. (100% Virtual Reality games) I can't say much for AoT, though. Everything about it is bland. Awfully colorless, imho. Too much brown, black, and blue.
  16. A game designing job has been my dream job for my entire life. Not sure which aspect of the game I would exclusively look upon, but right now I'm leaning towards the "Ideas Guy", Writer, or maybe even Playtester. Some fantasy of mine is to one day be the lead designer of an MMO like Sword Art Online. Making virtual reality technology like in that anime is 100% possible as far as our current technological state is concerned.
    I may have to look into other aspects of game design, though... *signs up for Programming & Media Arts classes just in case*
