      They are also sexist and "agist" (can't think of a better word). It's called profiling. Profiles are a tried and true method. They find a common pattern and adjust the situation accordingly. It's easier for the people who work in those industries to use patterns than to go on an individual basis which is far more complicated and would be far more prone to error.

      Not to mention that doing everything individually takes far more time, which is a waste of money. It's more efficient to have a lowest common denominator and work from there instead of trying to judge every single person who comes into an insurance office as a good or bad driver before they get on the road.

      Well I agree with the last thing you said I can understand (in that sense) why they will do it but I only mentioned that above to point out things have not really changed much as people thought they did... they just sort of "advanced" into a different level
