I just remembered I had this blog. My apologies for not posting. In Brony news I follow MLP G5 and I don't hate it. I loved "Roots of Evil" 2 parter so much! I loved the cameo of Spike but I agree the designs of dragons are a bit weird. I love the song "Magic in Us" ! I also follow Tell Your Tale and find the episode about Misty and the Spell book and Sunny feeling alone as an alicorn to be 2 of the best episodes of G5.
I'm still making films as well so stay tuned for more!
This is a re post from my personal film blog. https://cripvideoproductions.blogspot.com/2020/01/3-presentations-in-one-big-day.html I am not just trying to get traffic to my site. I just wanted to share this with follow bronies because I mentioned Lauren Faust in it. New posts on top.
On January 27th 2020, I did 3 presentations about Crip Video Productions films with members of my cast. John Diodato and I did the first regular presentation together where we discussed Cerebral Palsy, IEPs, the Moro Reflex as it relates to Cerebral Palsy, and diabetes. One student asked how large my fanbase was. I told her about my various fans from India, The Netherlands, Canada, Italy and Ghana Africa. One person asked why some people with disabilities may be offended if they are called inspiring so I tried my best to explain “Inspiration P#rn” as a term and the difference between good and bad forms of inspiration. One disabled student said he loved acting and was kind enough to offer his services to Crip Video Productions future projects.
This disabled student ended up coming with us to film the first of 2 video recorded presentations for the TV show created by Professor Mary Lynn Navarro of Kingsborough Community College titled “Students TALK”. https://cripvideoproductions.tumblr.com/post/189108164086/video-interviewhttps://cripvideoproductions.tumblr.com/post/189483544466/video-interview-2
Tim Snoha, John Diodato, Izabela Ginda, Betty Lewin and myself from “A Stroke Of Endurance” participated as well as Daniel Liriano from the films “Only Those Who Limp Allowed” and “Crips Not Creeps”. It was so nice to have my actors input. We had a mix of my disabled and able bodied performers presenting together in a panel with a documentary like style. Many of the questions were either disability or media related like what movies we liked, and how we met each other. Some of the actors talked about how they originally found my casting calls for my films on this blog. Tim Snoha mentioned “Inclusion In The Arts” which has since been disbanded and shut down unfortunately.
During the second of the video recorded presentations for “Students Talk” we got into a more serious discussion of instances where my actors had been discriminated against for being disabled, instances where my able bodied performers saw disabled people they knew having their privacy violated, and what each performer thought of terms like “Differently Abled” and “Disabled”. Some of the answers surprised me, I learned a lot of good new things, and I was reminded how wonderful it was to work with these individuals! Some of the student audience shared their own disability related experiences and really connected well with us.
Super special thanks to Mary Lynn Navarro, Tim Snoha, John Diodato, Izabela Ginda, Betty Lewin, and Daniel Liriano as well as everyone else involved in all the presenations for such a fabulous experience!
See our tumblr page to view photos from that day.
Please note: "Students Talk" has NOT been released yet. "Students TALK" is NOT owned by Crip Video Productions!
On December 4th we shot more interview footage for the series “Students TALK” for Professor Mary Lynn Navarro of Kingsborough Community College. https://cripvideoproductions.tumblr.com/post/189108164086/video-interview https://cripvideoproductions.blogspot.com/2019/11/video-interview-and-presentations.html We got some great footage and got to go further into our onscreen discussion. I talked a bit more about “A Stroke Of Endurance” and “Only Those Who Limp Allowed”. I was asked about disability and sports. I was also asked about how and why I hire disabled actors and how I feel about able bodied actors portraying disabled characters in media. We discussed disability and relationships. We have been meeting with Mary Lynn Navarro throughout December to discuss film editing, and how the collaboration between her own productions and Crip Video Productions will continue in 2020 and beyond.
“Students TALK” has NOT been released yet, but we at Crip Video Productions will notify our fans when it is released. “Students TALK” is NOT owned by Crip Video Productions. It is a collaboration only.
Super special thanks to Mary Lynn Navarro and her students. I have full legal permission from Mary Lynn Navarro to write this blog post.
Crip Video Productions wishes our many fans a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Stay tuned to this blog and our web
On November 14th I(Margot) had the honor of being interviewed on camera by Professor Navarro of Kingsborough Community College and her wonderful journalism class for their video cast series called “students TALK” about my films and disability issues. We covered a wide range of topics like my mission as a filmmaker, disability representation in media, and college accessibility. I mostly talked about my film “Crips Not Creeps” because that film is Professor Navarro’s favorite. The students were very engaged and asked fantastic questions like whether I would like to see a disabled Disney Princess created in the future. I was thrilled thats many questions were asked. I was able to pass along some of the knowledge I gained of film editing and camera operation to Professor Navarro and her students as we went long. The interview has NOT been released yet!!! When this interview gets released we will let all of our Crip Video Productions fans know where and how to watch it.
Super special thanks to “students TALK” and Professor Navarro for this wonderful opportunity to reach a wider audience! We have full legal permission from Professor Navarro to write this part of the blog post!
I spoke to another class a few days after. On November 19th, 2019 I was invited to speak to a class studying disorders and education. I showed the trailer for “Crips Not Creeps” and part of the blooper video for “A Stroke Of Endurance”. I told the class the meaning and backstory around the terms “Crip” “Super Crip” and “inspiration p#rn” as they relate to disability. I told the class how a fan of “A Stroke Of Endurance” recently thought one of my disabled actors in that film, was able bodied because she did not understand that some actors with disabilities have invisible disabilities rather than outwardly obvious disabilities to explain the term “invisible disability”. One student asked if I took medication and/or supplements for Cerebral Palsy. One student asked if Cerebral Palsy was a progressive disease(it’s not). Another student asked how people with Cerebral Palsy who can walk, usually learn to walk as young children.
We have full permission from the people involved with this presentation to write this part of the blog post!
More shooting for "Students TALK" will take place soon. Stay tuned here for blog post updates about that series.
In other news: We also received some very sweet, touching fan letters the other day about our film “Drama Sighted”! We at Crip Video Productions are so glad we are making such a positive impact.
Our actress from "A Stroke Of Endurance" Katrina Hanzel is also in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nNfee9QB3Y&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR1r3TdkoXlE4mmTjI8ihFxcvYnVAGgP7zsy_uppc9V8_ktvFWXUwrpS6MM at 17:17 minutes in, showing off some awesome disabled action figures!! Check it out! Support her work!
Review of MLP season 9 episode 18 “She Talks To An Angel”
SPOILER ALERT! So not one of my top favorite episodes but definitely a HUGE improvement over “2,4,6 Great” and “Trivial Pursuit”. Even though a similar concept was used for “A Royal Problem” the writers were able to use the episode to their advantage to do something they have not done before which is to develop Angel Bunny as a 3 dimensional character with a real range of emotion. It was interesting to learn how Angel experiences the world and that he truly is mute even compared to Fluttershy’s other animals. It was a neat lesson that people who do not communicate verbally still have a full range of thoughts and feelings which seems to be something our society easily forgets. Since mutism is generally considered a disability it can be thought of as another example of Disability Representation in addition to Scootaloo. I like how the writers managed to let us see both sides of Angel and Fluttershy’s conflict without making me hate either character. Andrea Libman rocked it as Angel! Andrea is SO talented! It was fantastic to see Zecora again finally before the series ends! It was also nice to see what Fluttershy does at her sanctuary in more detail. The only thing I didn’t like was Fluttershy trying to teach all animals to be Vegan because even though its a magical world, and probably meant as a reference/joke about Vegans, Fluttershy should know better, that animals need their natural diet to survive.
On a really REALLY important note, the MLP series finale has been released in Dutch and was posted on youtube. I ADORE the finale! However apparently some people hated the finale and threatened Big Jim and DHX with Violence and death threats. https://www.equestriadaily.com/2019/08/the-new-thankyoujim-and-thankyoubigjim.html This is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! I don’t care what the reasons are, you do NOT threaten others! Threatening people over a show is just pure INSANITY! This is NOT what Bronies are about. I wanted my followers to know that I always call out any fandom for inexcusable behavior whether it be the Lilo & Stitch fandom, the My Little Pony fandom or anything else. I saw disgusting behavior in the Stitch fandom after “Stitch! Anime” and “Stitch & Ai” was released and I’m so disappointed and ashamed that the same kind of people followed MLP. My message to the violent haters is: GET OVER IT! IT’S A GOD DA#N SHOW!!!! Go rant on your private online pages but DO NOT threaten or harm human beings. Anyone who threatened DHX was NEVER a real Brony! May the haters get their Karma. I stand with Big Jim and DHX! #ThankYouBigJim
If you are a non violent Brony or even a member of a different fandom go to twitter and use the hashtag #ThankYouBigJim to tell MLP staff you appreciate them and reject violence ASAP please! Thanks for reading!
Hello Everyone,
I saw quite a new bronies freaking out about Tumblr deleting accounts because some stuff that is NOT actually adult content is getting censored. Even my blogs were having ordinary things pop up with an orange "flagged" symbol at the top. If bronies are concerned I would suggest making a backup of your entire blog in a word document or other documents in your computers and external hard drives. Then if you guys wish to share it again online simply find another social media platform or blog site to move to.
Here's an example using my new Archive blog. Please note: This is for example purposes only, I'm not trying to drive traffic to my site!

The new Crip Video Productions Achieve blog. Posts will be added gradually as a backup of our other posts.
Full Text of post:
Welcome! Hello Everyone,
Welcome! This is the official blogspot blog of Crip Video Productions. Crip Video Productions mission is to make short independent films that increase understanding of disability through engaging characters and story telling. The films are created by people with disabilities for everyone to enjoy. All films are written, directed, and produced by Margot Cole. We collaborate with able bodied people and people with a variety of disabilities for the sake of simply telling a good story. We mostly work with people who have physical disabilities. We do our best to make the films accessible by adding open captions to the films for the deaf and hard of hearing and audio description for the blind. Although we would love to accommodate people with moderate to severe mental disabilities we are simply not set up to do so at this time. Crip Video Productions is an online project we do for fun. We are not an official organization. We do NOT receive any kind of funding or grants from the government or elsewhere. We do NOT seek to profit from the films in any way. We try to produce the highest quality films we can on a low budget. Most people working on the films donate their time out of the kindness of their hearts and work pro bono for which we are forever grateful. We follow the necessary precautions of filmmaking and have full permission to use all the locations seen in the films.
This blogspot blog will serve as the “backup” blog for Crip Video Productions in case our Tumblr, google plus page, or website fails i.e if we lose any old posts and need a place to repost our content. If we have really big news we may also post that news here. An achieved/backed up post from one of our other sites will be labeled as such. The reason we are making this spare blog is that in the past we have had slight problems with google plus posts not posting properly and because Tumblr is updating tomorrow (Monday December 17th 2018) and we may need to have a place to repost if anything is lost in the chaos of Tumblr updating. We thought about using other blogging sites as the spare blog but blogspot is the easiest for now. We apologize in advance for any confusions about the blogs or posts. If you have questions please comment.
If you experience any difficulty with the Crip Video Productions Tumblr page please contact us immediately at http://cripvideoproductions.com/contact.php or email at cripvideoproductions@yahoo.com or feel free to comment on this post. Also feel free to comment at any point on this blog if you like our work and want to tell us.
To follow us on our regular, more active pages please check out our official website http://cripvideoproductions.com Our Official Tumblr page http://cripvideoproductions.tumblr.com and our google plus page https://plus.google.com/u/0/103662816758572885430
To view our 4 current films “Drama Sighted” “Only Those Who Limp Allowed” “Crips Not Creeps” and “A Stroke Of Endurance” in full for free with open captions and audio descriptions please go to the official website and click on the “Films” tab or go to the youtube search engine and type the titles of the films you see above in the youtube search engine.
Thanks for reading and enjoy!
Not MLP related but it is related to my films so I'm posting it here on the blog. Just want to share the news. Not spam or get viewer traffic.
Hi Everyone,
This post is to announce that all current Crip Video Productions films have been audio described! If you do not use audio description yourself please pass along the links below to people who do use audio description. If the audio descriptions do not play properly simply re load the pages.

Crip Video Productions is offering audio description on our films for the very first time. Crip Video Productions apologizes for taking this long to provide audio described versions to our blind/visually impaired/low vision fan base. We attempted to add audio description to the films multiple times. Unfortunately the pervious attempts failed due to technical difficulties on my end. Luckily Tucker Salovaara who acted in our film “Crips Not Creeps” was kind enough to use a service called “You Describe” to audio described the films for us. Special thanks to Tucker! If anyone reading this would like to use the audio described versions for screenings please contact us using our contact page http://cripvideoproductions.com/contact.php for instructions and details.

This is a re post from my personal film blog. I am not just trying to get traffic to my site. I just wanted to share this with follow bronies because I mentioned Lauren Faust in it.
I was once again invited to the KCC Diversity Festival. We originally planned to screen the new film “A Stroke Of Endurance” for the festival but since “A Stroke Of Endurance” is not released yet we came up with the plan of showing “Drama Sighted” and a few, brand new exclusive promotional clips from “A Stroke Of Endurance”. The clips included a rough version of a trailer. I spoke about the films at the beginning and end of the presentation and did a Q&A.
The first few questions were about technical aspects to the film like what kind of camera was used and what aspect ratio the films were in. Then someone asked if I was inspired by anyone in the media. I told them I was inspired by Lauren Faust’s writing style. I study her writing style in MLP and ask myself why it works. Someone asked if I had ever seen bullying like in the “Drama Sighted” film happen at KCC, luckily the answer was no. I got some questions about how I planned to expand my work out to others. I told them that I plan to take “A Stroke Of Endurance” and the other films to campuses and organizations and of course keep uploading them to youtube to reach people. Then I got the usual questions about why I cast disabled actors and how I started making films. I told the story of how “Drama Sighted” went from being a play to a film, how I learned basic filmmaking from scratch and branched out. I told them I cast disabled actors because I believe it makes the performance more authentic. I feel that while able bodied actors try to learn to do disabled roles well by researching etc they often do not understand the experience of the disabled character, and won’t emote or express body language with the effected part of the body. Like an actor imitating spasticity will hold still whereas an actor with spasticity in real life will still move that part of the body. I told them how disabled actors had expressed to me that they often feel they have to hide their disabilities get roles and how I had encouraged the actors to let the disability related parts of their body language show through, as long as they did it “in character” during shooting.
The response to the “A Stroke Of Endurance” clips was very encouraging. At the end one of the audience members approached me to ask me questions about how to communicate about her disability with a friend of hers who is also disabled. I’m glad that my films could help her and the other audience members understand disability and a little bit more of the human story. I really hope to come back and screen “A Stroke Of Endurance” in spring! Super special thanks to Kingsborough Community College for organizing, and inviting me to the festival!

THIS MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS! I just saw "My Little Pony The Movie" I must say I thought it was really good. The animation was beautiful and the music was used to nicely compliment the story. I really liked Twilight's arc. Some of the previews and spoilers I heard from other bronies made me concerned that Twilight might be portrayed as OOC or a jerk. Luckily that was not the case in my opinion. You could easily see how Twilight's insecurity leads to her anxiety, guilt and frustration to the point of lashing out. Actually Twilight seems like the realist in the movie being that she was appropriately on guard about the new characters while the other Mane 5 seem a bit more naive and overly trusting, and Twilight gets more desperate so her stealing the pearl while wrong did make sense. Rainbow Dash was great and I loved the scene where Twilight rescued Pinkie, and Tempest's voice actor was amazing. This movie reminded me of the movies I grew up with and watched when I was recovering from surgery as a kid in the best way. I like that Tempest still had a broken horn at the end because it makes a good statement on what could be considered a disability for a unicorn and about acceptance, that she did not need to cured to be whole as a pony. I felt Sia's song was about Twi "weathering the storm" and her "soul growing" i.e character growth in the movie. However the movie had a bit too many characters, some things aren't explained at all, and the movie is paced like an episode rather than a movie in that the ponies could have actually taught the new characters about friendship gradually, especially Tempest since they have a full length running time to use.
As some of you might know I write films about people with physical disabilities which you can read about in my thread here https://mlpforums.com/topic/97063-my-short-films-about-physical-disability/ A lot of my writing is inspired by My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic and Lauren Faust. After a recent post in that thread it was suggested by one of the mods that I make a blog to share an article I wrote(so I hope it is okay to post it this way, let me know if it isn’t. I'm NOT trying to advertise to get traffic to my site, just share with my brony friends!) here http://disabledspectator.com/disabled-filmmaker-margot-cole/
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SEEN THE FINALE YET:
I LOVED THE FINALE! I'm perfectly satisfied with the ending to the series as a whole. I adored when Spike became 2nd in command to Twilight as "Royal Advisor." Spike SO deserves a high position and a proper title! It was so touching when Celestia and Luna spoke about being "all grown up" on her throne. How far Twilight Sparkle has come in 9 seasons….Her interest in magic started with the summer sun celebration so she has truly come full circle. I was shocked and completely surprised that Discord turned out to be Grogar all along. I really like this twist as it explains why Discord was absent from the MLP 2017 movie for example. It was perfectly in character for Discord as he has to be chaotic to help or he disappears completely from existence. It was interesting to see how Twilight reacted to Discord's manipulation of their past victories. I'm glad the writers got to explore this with Twilight. The battles were wonderfully animated. Twilight gets injured! I never thought the writers would take the risk of having a member of the Mane 6, least of all Twilight, take a hit even though Discord and Celestia have been injured in past episodes(albeit Discord faked his injury). This was one tense episode! Also Cozy turned herself into an Alicorn! I would have expected a bit more of a reaction out of the friends when Twilight gets blasted by Cozy…that has got to be permanently scarring for Mane 5. I loved that every creature/character came to rescue the Mane 6 in a true moment of friendship, diversity and inclusion done right. Before I ever knew that season 9 would be the last season, I wanted the finale of MLP to have a moment where all of Equestria saved the Mane 6 because that would be the perfect way to show unity and the strength of friendship so I was thrilled that the writers felt the same way. I liked that the Windigos got to make a return when the ponies became divided. I never liked the idea of the pony races being racist towards each other because it always felt unnatural to me in the MLP universe but here it actually works well and gives the Student 6 a minor but vital rule in the conclusion of the series. Sorry I just love the final friendship rainbow scene! Ultimate Friendship Beam anyone?! I love how Spike is included for once! Tempest makes a non speaking cameo! Pinkie Pie using Discord's magic from the bell was hilarious because she seems so chaotic in a way herself. I love the concept of the finale episode "The Last Problem" to pieces where we get to see what became of everyone without squeezing it into the battle episodes(Pinkie’s a mom!)!. I loved that we got to see characters like the Cake Twins and the CMC older! The lesson is perfect! It’s still weird that Twilight can’t rule from Ponyvile in her own castle though. It doesn’t make sense why Twilight can’t just rule from Ponyvile since she already has a whole castle there, and why she can’t continue to teach in Ponyvile. And I wish it was explained whether the other Mane 5 will teach at the friendship school, at all after Twilight takes power, or do they have other duties, royal or otherwise?? Does Sunburst have to live in Ponyvile now? So many unanswered details. I love Twilight’s coronation outfit! I love how Celestia and Luna combined their crowns to make Twilight's big new crown. The song was utterly beautiful! The last moment with the closing of the book was the perfect touch. I love how the TV airing had "Many, Many, Many Moons later" on the title card before "Last Problem" actually started. I loved the disability representation of Scootaloo still being flightless and being fully respected as a disabled teacher at the School of Friendship!
Please NOTE: NO I do NOT think Twilight is immortal and no I do NOT think Twilight will outlive her friends and neither does my family who watched with me. This is more of a fan theory but I think Alicorns do age, but don't show their age physically because of Alicorn magic. I think Celestia and Luna were elderly and getting weaker, hence why they didn't go on adventures much and decided to hand over ruling duties to Twilight and her friends, especially since Celestia and Luna mentioned the "Sliver" retirement community from the previous episode "Point Of No Return" and all the ponies at that location are over a certain age, if you will.
Goodbye MLP. I will treasure my time in Equestria with all these characters forever. Thank you MLP staff for making a show so good it inspired my own film writing style. Can't wait for G5 and the CGI movie and the MLP comic series.
