@Catpone Cerberus "Let you out? Hah! Sure. Get off the door, Asildae." The grin on her face didn't betray much more than amusement, as Glutton looked forward to actually letting this one out. Weren't any warning signs or guards, so clearly no one cared that much that she were locked up. Probably meant she wasn't a big threat. And if she were, well... Usually she veered off from eating higher sentience beings, but this one Did look nice and crunchy. When Asildae moved away from the door, Glutton would slither a few steps closer, then open her maw to where her mouth were bigger than the cage, and then she'd crunch down on the door, getting some dirt with it, as the door bend, creaked and snapped, as Glutton spend but a few seconds to chew down. A long, serpentine tongue wrapping itself around a piece that seemed it might split out towards the queen, then several more identical tongues doing the same with more pieces. It should be obvious that if she wanted to, Glutton could have chomped this down in less than a second. But she dragged it out, to show off that nothing in this world, were beyond her to eat. She were voracious appetite itself, in a broad, edible world. From the smallest, softest marshmallow, to the hardest diamond and beyond, all were but a feast for her to consume. When she were done, she'd pull back, allowing the insect queen to get out of the cage. And when she were, Glutton would pick up said cage, shake it loose for anything in there, and then start taking large bites out of it, now eating it normally, as if it were but a large pork rind. Gave off about the same sort of crunch too, with marks in the metal, showing how effortlessly her teeth could go through. "You're free, little queen. I'm Glutton, the Spirit of Gourmandizing. Now what sorta thing does someone like you eat?" She had a more mundane title back int he day, but she had heard the word gourmandizing, as an acronym to her sorta deal. Sounded a far bit better, so she'd taken that instead. Who were gonna stop her? The princesses? Over a name? Hah! They wouldn't risk losing the benefit she were providing to Equestria, for something so small. Sure she tested her limits now and again, cause it was fun, but this had been nothing. Just folks saying one thing, been corrected, then started to get with the program. Weren't like the time she'd gone around eating houses. Though in her defense, they'd just said they needed them torn down. On them to not specify the other half of the block wasn't supposed to go along with that. Looked scuffed, so seemed like a fair meal. Bah, but ponies could be so stuffy at times. So she'd just mended it, and gone on with her day. After spitting that foal out. Heh, that were probably the thing that'd gotten her the most ire, even though the kid was perfectly fine. Needed a shower, and maybe some therapy, but she hadn't even eaten a hair on him, so much as there were some words, what'd it matter? She hadn't broken the rules technically, just as she hadn't now. Probably. They'd see if this one were entertaining, or an appetizer. =============================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Perhaps not, yet I ever endeavor to try." Maybe she never would understand the kobold perspective properly. They had different upbringings, lives, expectations, education, and so forth. Societies somewhat near one another, yet still very far apart, in most ways. And yet, she thought it best to at least try, and see how much a different perspective could help her learn and understand. Be it science, elementals, or the culture of kobolds, she did not think it wise to be narrow-minded, as it stifled learning. So if he had more to say of his life, or that of kobolds, she would listen, and adjust her perspective with any new information. Not now though. Their chat were over for now, and she needed to move to the door, and be ready to wander off too. Wouldn't be long before they reached their destination, and they had to get to work. "Understood, sir. If we find something, you will see my signal clearly." She were planning on simply handling this the easiest way, by releasing a plume of smoke for him to follow. Not fire though. It wouldn't help their work, if the forest was aflame, and it would put question marks to whatever or not she could actually control herself, from if not Vaz and Solar, then certainly the royal guard. And that beside, she didn't want to destroy nature. The animals needed their habitat, just as ponies needed their towns, or dragons their mountains. Roasting said homes, and likely also them, would be a cruel act, that she wouldn't partake in without clear and reasonable logic behind it. It had seemed the best idea to simply split up, when first they arrived. But judging by Solar's words, perhaps it were wiser to simply stay together, as they did after all, not know what they might wander into, and the effects of it. Could well be that one approaching would get caught in some fashion, and at least were they two, one could then call for him to come and deal with it, as he were far more knowledgeable about this technology than they were. So she would follow Vaz, as he headed towards the forest. "We can hope that we find it with some degree of haste. Might I inquire, Mr. Vaz, if we are attacked by say, a large predator, are you a fighter in any capacity? I ask not because I request protection. Merely so I know that I will not accidentally hit you in the crossfire, if say you are one to jump into a melee." ================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "I hope you're right..." She didn't say this as a threat. Her voice were notably concerned, as she worried for her friend now more than before. The pain Ruby must have felt in the moment... Were she even used to that? Could one even be, if this were truly as if a part of you were torn away? She hadn't a clue, but she knew where she had to be now, and it wasn't in here. The meeting being over, she wouldn't hesitate to go outside, along with Charir, to look for Ruby. Leviathan did ask, and could tell that Ruby wasn't as fine as she claimed. Or she just imagined that, but she didn't think about that right now, as in her mind, Ruby were in some kind of distress, and didn't want to show out here. Hopefully when they got in private, she would elaborate on how things were, but for the time being, she'd just respond with an *Okay*, and give Ruby a concerned look, before following Voltaick towards where their sleeping arrangements were. Hopefully it was an okay... Cave? She'd assume so, since y'know, they were dragons. It were a bit of a cliche, that their liked caves, but y'know, if the shoe fits. ========================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Woah. That's quite the way of life you kobolds have. And your uhm... I uh... Sorry, did you say Chega?" While she would have said more of the little lesson in how the society of kobolds worked, a name had stuck out to her there. One that she reeeeally hoped wasn't just wishful thinking on her part, or a coincidence. "She did. I saw her, and I got you an autograph." Shell pranced where she stood with a big smile on her face, hearing that. "That's so Awesome! Ooooh, I wish I could've seen her again. I love her music. I never knew she were a kobold. I thought she were a small dragon. And you're friends with her? You're so lucky." While she were having a fan-filly moment, Onache wandered out of her room, head held high, and looking as if she were perfectly fine, even though the kobolds would likely be able to tell, that she didn't move quite as fast as before, even if her movements were still fluid. Happy certainly knew too, but it were not his place to speak aloud of anything. He simply needed to be there for his queen, in whatever way she required it. If he had to lift her all the way back to the desert, then he would do that too, but he knew she'd heavily dislike that. It weren't the most dignified thing after all, and while she were not from a pride hive, it didn't take away that like with several other queens, she had some pride, that she'd like to keep, and she already thought the way she looked now were testing it, as she still weren't used to it. Least her wandering in this colorful bug form, none would know it were her, as she looked nothing alike how she were, before she were changed. That shielded her to some extend. ======================================================================= @EQ_Theta "Whatever you will do, I trust that you will do what you believe is right, brother. I will not leave you." Maybe she wouldn't be able to understand what he had done at first, but Sen had been with her for some time now, and she trusted him. Even if sometimes, he did go a bit far, like when he had threatened to throw his old friend off of a cliff. She had to intervene then, but she at least knew how he would look and act now, when he could not think rationally. He would seem very angry, at least expression-wise, and get loud. Maybe if he were like that, it would give her pause, if what he asked were something that might be bad, but otherwise, long as it would not go against Mother's edicts, she would listen, and obey. He did not need to explain it to her first. "We will not disturb mother. She tells our masters how to form us, and then tells us to be good children, and for them to take good care of us, before she grow silent, so they can focus on us, instead of her. I have seen many other siblings be picked, before Mother made me go back to Equestria. Things rarely change, unless the new master does something wrong." Sure Mother observed them, up until they left, but at a certain point, she had to let go, and allow the new master and sibling to be on their way, and begin their new lives. At times she had to add more, but there were no need with this. She had found him to be very amicable and respectful, and seeing how he even provided her child with magical clothes as she were given shape, and were already teaching her the basics of movement, she had little worry that this would be a good teacher and master for her. As the others approached, he would direct one of his large eyes towards them, while the other remained on the sibling, who were getting the hang of how to move her tentacles to provide flight, though he were assisting her with three of his own, directing movements when she seemed to lose tract. As were seen with him, you did not need all tentacles to retain flight, but she were new, and as such would require it. His head would vibrate slightly, and a weird, gurgling sound would be heard, before the sibling turned around. It left her on the ground, but it didn't seem to hinder her, as she rose a few tentacles to greet them, and then began speaking with Omen, in the Ki'Nathar's own tongue. The strange, whispering chorus going on for a few minutes, in which time Shrimp would notice Lin and Sen, and then rise up, giving a happy little chirp and a noodle dance, then ready himself. They should recognize this stance as the one he took before jumping towards them, and act accordingly, though they needn't be worried. The new octopus master would use the back of his tentacle to gently lift under Shrimp, and carry him the full way towards Sen, whom he assumed were the one this little one had gone for. "Sister has a strange name. It sounds like Klughlurg. Her master says it it meant to be said under water." Omen would nod, as the sibling would point towards Shrimp, and seemingly ask a question. "She would like to touch him." So she would, and while Shrimp would smell her tentacle, he seemed perfectly fine, as she smelled like Omen and Lin, so that meant she were friendly. At which point he'd rub towards the tentacle, while their new sister experienced the sensation of touch against his scales with great curiosity. "She also says her master said hello, and that he is *insert noise akin to someone burping loudly in dish water*. I do not think he can understand what we are saying, but he seems to be nice, and he is already teaching her things. He reminds me of Scarcity." Not physically in the slightest, but more with how quickly the lessons were beginning, to try and help the new sibling deal with things better. Discord had just picked her up and been on his way, and that wasn't the most unusual approach either, when it came to several other siblings. As for this one... He were courteous, but as it wasn't like they could communicate properly, he'd accept that they would leave soon. Surely they too had things to do as well, in whatever odd world that someone like them came from. Quadrupedal creatures with tails, and no gills. What a strange world. ========================================================================== @EQ_Theta "I figured golems couldn't feel, but it's good to be wrong sometimes, yeah?" "Normally they cannot. Only those build by dedicated Stone Mason's can, and I have known only of very few like that, throughout the ages. Not all are willing to put in the fairh and effort that is apparently needed. Whomever in your time made you these, were one with considerable skill." Truth be told, Celestia didn't know the full details. She had some telling shcolars and her how to do this, but even trying herself, with her notably strong magic pool, it had always resulted in nothing more than standard golems. Even if they might seem somewhat lively, they were a far cry from what she had seen in the past, as well as now. Her best guess, were that it had something to do with faith. Those who crafted the best she had seen or heard of, were seemingly always devoted to their beliefs, though it were still just an assumption, to which she had next to no definitive proof. "Nono, it's okay. That's why we have the booths. Well, that and for crying, but y'know, multi-purpose." She'd point towards the corner, where a door would lead to a small hall, that had three sectioned off rooms. They could be locked from the inside, and had a beanbag chair, and a box of tissue paper if needed, along with a trash can, of course. And over in left-most corner, would be about a dozen small, bulbous plants, that looked akin to a rat-catcher plant, just only big enough to only catch mice, with the lids opened, and stuck to the wall in a cluster. These rooms were likely repurposed bathrooms, from whatever had been here before, but they fit better like this. Besides, they still had a bathroom. Just had to walk straight forward when opening into the hall, instead of turning right, to where the booths were. "And don't you go worry about your reaction. It's pretty normal with nostalgia. It's something that hits everyone differently. Depends on their lives and such." After he had left, she'd address his friends. "That's emotion tea for you. It's full of nutrients and delicious emotions for us changelings, but for other creatures, it invokes emotions, be they good or bad. Nostalgia is very popular with the elderly, that can sometimes have problem remembering the old days. Joy is the most popular in general, but we have some goth types here who wants melancholy or sorrow too, among other things. Folks are pretty varied, but we serve what they want, no matter if they want a feeling of delight, or need a good cry. But changelings have a bad name to a lot still, because of one of our previous queens. Attacked this town, and really did a number on our reputation, though places like this, and Queen Cheshire's theater, are starting to help. Of course, having the princess here doesn't hurt either, and I greatly appreciate the gesture." She'd nod towards the princess, with a big grin on her face. Seeing how the story were with changelings here in Canterlot the princesses approval meant a lot. As did her being here physically, and partaking in things, which showed more non-changelings that there were nothing to worry about here. ======================================= @Dah Onion Eater "I know her not, nor if one like her is in this reality, yet it will be the closest to home that I can lead you." Other dimensions were one thing, but other realities? That were beyond the power of most creatures, and for good reason, as breaking open the gate between multiple realities could potentially cause dire repercussions. If one had torn a path open, or if realities had just flyed briefly, and this pony were unlucky, she could not tell, but she would help him get to something as close to his home as she were able, though he had to work to establish a new life for himself there. After wandering a few minutes Mother would wave a hand, and the section of the floor that he stood upon, were risen up to her shoulder height. Once it - and as such also him - were there, she'd touch the air with her left index claw, and a swirling portal would open up, and revealing a vision on the other side, which should be familiar to him. That of Ponyville, where many a pony were wandering, oblivious to the portal that had sudden swirled open in the park. "My oldest daughter of this realm, often traverse here. It id a safe area for you ponies, as I understand it. Remember though child, that while it looks like your home, it is not exactly as where you are from. You will need to make a new life, and new friends here. I am sorry I cannot do better than this, but it is the closest you can find to where you are from. Wander in peace, dear child. And may luck bless your path." Once he'd chose to wander through, he'd find that it were as simple as just taking a few steps forth, and he'd be on his way. Into a pond, specifically. Mother had not seen that she had placed this portal roght at the edge of the pond in the park, so he'd get wet hooves, but that shouldn't be too bad. Water weresrill rather shallow here at the edge. That said, somepony would pop their head up out of the water as he stepped there, and looked at him. Her odd wings laid flat on her back, and her eyes looked him over with great curiosity, before she went into a big grin, that showed off razor-sharp teeth, that well fitted the shark tail attached to her rump, where a regular equine tail nor.ally were. "Hi! Is friend also too dry?" Her tone were friendly, and she made no move to try and bite him. And if he looked around, he'd see that everypony else were jjst normal ponies, and a few others like griffons, or smaller dragons. So he hadn't been sent to a strange dimension where all ponies were fish. Probably. And if he looked back, after having stepped through fully, he'd find the gate had closed, and there were now just a tree.

@Illiad Easle (Null) It were a strange feeling, having him return like that, but she didn't think it overly unwelcome. It helped having him around, and she had a few times when she had time to think of it, worried that he'd end up in trouble somehow. Like getting stuck in light or something, albeit the times were brief on this matter. A lot had happened after all. "Yeah, it ain't been silent. Welcome back, by the way." She'd think through the main things that'd gone on, while she laid down on the bed. Sure was a softer one that the last, which hadn't been bad, but the upgrade were nice. A way of apologizing for the break-in, she'd recon. Frankly she didn't mind. It might mostly be the bed, it wasn't That different, but it were still nice regardless. She wasn't used to bedding this soft. They'd see what he thought of things as she finished eventually. She assumed he'd have some words, but which ones... Meh, she didn't much care. She had a nice date tonight, and got a lot of things out with Arcade. So things were still good today, ad she were trying to keep focus on that. As for the kitsune, he were still in town, if the Grey were looking for him. Currently hiding in a dark, run down place, clutching his head, and trying to get a bit of rest. Considering what had happened, they might have questions. If not, he'd hopefully soon enough be someone else's problem. ============================================================= (Ranger) The fox couldn't see in here, but it did sense some things around it. Not so far back as the clones, but a big button, that were next to another keypad? That it could sense. Not it were just about getting up there, which were hardly an issue. Just had to get ready, then... Jump! It would get up there and push the button, but the angle were bad, so it hit it like a... Well, piece of paper. Not good enough. So it would back up, keeping its focus on the button, and then when it were back a meter or so, it would charge forward, jump up high, and swirl, so it slammed into the button with its side, which put in inertia and all its weight. Which might not be a lot, but it should be enough, as it were still folded and firm. If not, it would get frustrated, and then just jump up, and use some magic to make its paw heavier, and slam the button (giving it the same weight a normal fox its size, so still not too impressive). It didn't want to use magic on this, as it had a very limited pool, but it were not getting beaten by a button! Though if this also didn't work, it were just gonna give up, and try looking around, to see if there were something it could sense in the dark, like a key, or some other button. Maybe a light switch? That could be useful. Sure it could tell there were some cylinders, but what were in them? It were mighty curious. It did actually have a larger magic pool now too though, due to the minostralum, but it were not aware of it. It just figured it were bigger, and smarter, and that were very good with it. Especially as it included wings! Well that sucked. He had a bit of hope that the keypad were usable, but nope. Not a good enough trace to get a proper answer, with those he found seemingly being switched, random, or personalized. Good for security, sucked for folks like them. The door were also heavy and well set, so getting it out of frame weren't gonna be a breeze either. Hmm... There were a bit of leverage though. Maybe he could do something with that? When Ranger returned, he had been working on getting the door a bit up, then place something underneath that could withstand pressure. Then finding something else, use his magic to force the door up a little bit more, then put a new thing, brace himself for the next time, and so on and so forth. It were not fast, and he wish he could just magic it all the way up, but that sort of force were tough. Sure it didn't use physical muscle, but it used magical ones, and his magic weren't immense. He were no elder, and that left some limitations. Especially as he couldn't just use magic to try and smash this door with direct force, because frankly, he had no idea what would happen. This place might collapse, or they'd wake something up with the sudden burst of sound, or it'd be a trap, etc. So he had to try lifting, and lifting with magic, were harder than blasting with magic. It required a good deal more focus, force, and precision, and if he put too much into this, he might well end up laying on the floor with a splitting headache, blood coming out of his ears, and the door slamming down again, in case nothing held it up in the first place once open. Honestly, if Ranger could get this done with her numbers, he'd be well happy. "Phew, this is a pain. What've you found? Please tell me it's a code." Of course, if the paper fox smashing the button did anything, this might get easier. Or harder, if it were a security measure of some sort. ==================================================== (Cherish) "After scavenge, I can show you. Maybe you understand it." She had stacks of books, mostly legible. The expensive looking gold and silver one were of course her most prized, even if she did not understand it right now, but she still treasured her other books, and the library that got the ones in good condition for pies, would see that beyond the deserts effects, they were taken well care of. So the thought of a young pony standing and reading one of those that she had, and hadn't traded or decided to keep were causing her a little hesitation. But Cherish trusted these, so she would chance it, and hope that her little friend were right. "It is safe. Just don't chase them into their burrows. They are small. You get stuck. If something happens, I help." He was young too. Maybe he needed someone there, to make sure he did not get too hurt? She could do that, yes. She had hunted around here, and other places, and knew what to do. Including when to retreat. She could keep him safe, if he went in over his head, or if a monster came around. Hopefully it wouldn't, but strange things sometimes wandered around the desert. Sometimes openly, sometimes hiding, and other times, if you were really unlucky, uncovered as you approached. She'd guide them on their way, through the dunes. It were easier if she only had to think of herself and Cherish, as they could just fly, but they had non-fliers with them, and had to accept that. Though the trip still took little more than twenty minutes, which progressed uneventfully. Something did move in the sand briefly, if Elef had his senses about him, he might even find the half-meter-long snake that had halted, soon as it knew there were others, and gotten half-buried in the dune sand, though he might miss it too. Most did after all, seeing as it were camouflaged to blend in near perfectly with the sand. And if he did ignore it, it would move on when they left, and eat a nearby scorpion. Crow had seen it briefly move, but pretended she didn't. She didn't much care for the taste of snake, and these were not dangerous to anyone their size anyway, so it wasn't worth the attention. Beyond this, it were just sand upon sand, until they got to where she had wanted them to go. The dunes had halfway reclaimed it already, but the tattered remains of a large wagon did poke halfway out of the sand that were piling up around it, with a few sticks around it suggesting there might be more too. "Hmm. More buried than I thought now. Will need to dig, but I saw crates, when I was here. Should be things in." She'd go over to the main wagon, and push her arm down, seeing if she could grab something near the surface, and pulled back the bleached top half, of an equine skull. Had a few holes where there might have been a gold tooth or something like that, but that were gone. Likely taken by one of the dune foxes or vultures, to pretty up their nests or burrow. If it were easy to yoink out, they sometimes did. Could also just be this one had been in a scuffle. A hole just above the eye, suggested an arrow or something similar, had gotten through. Maybe a small bullet? Hard to say, but death had likely been fast. Regardless, she'd put it to the side, and start digging down, to see if she could get to the crates she recalled. Her clawed hands were well equipped to dig into solid ground, so layers of sand were barely an issue, as she'd scatter what held her potential prize in its grasp. The desert could have this, once they were done with it. "If any can dig, or do magic, see if you can uncover stuff, yes? Try and ignore the bones. Lots of those out here." If she were to collect the bones of everyone who had died out here, she could be at this for the next thousand years, it felt like. The dunes kept taking and uncovering bones, or desiccated half-mummies. Probably thousands upon thousands of corpses in various states out here, and it seemed pointless to chase after these remains. They were buried by the deserts whims. It were more than many others got, after the war. Besides, a skeleton wasn't so bad. Would be worse if she pulled something up with more meat on it. There would be two more carts, and remnants of something that'd shattered from an attack, spread over three points in a four meter radius, all buried beneath at most a meter of sand. There were things to find in about half of these, and several more corpses. They could also all just focus on the main one that Crow were on, but it were up to them each. Cherish were helping Crow at least, using her hooves and wings to push sand aside to get more of the bigger cart uncovered, and hoping she wouldn't find more bones. Well, bones were somewhat okay. Something more meaty would be a lot worse. (dice roll determines your luck) =================================================================== (Void) "We wish we could, but I worry the fauna would have killed my sister before we got there. Maybe some day, I can go and look there myself though. I heard good things. And yes, magic is very integral to ponies, and several other species too, unfortunately. usually because of personal magic, ward, items that benefits them, etc. Not everyone, but we were rather... Unlucky, on our travels." Saying they were unlucky were perhaps an understatement, but she'd rather not dwell on those years too much. They had suffered, but they had learned, and survived. Now they were finally getting a life going, and it were better to have focus on that in her mind, rather than constantly dwelling on the past, and letting that direct her every action. She didn't exactly long for the feeling of being scared of the world around her. Not saying she would try and repress and forget. There were things to have learned from the past, and she'd bring some things up, but standing and talking details about some of the times they got chased out, for the next few hours, were just gonna make her feel depressed. Though she could bring up an example or two that wasn't as long winded if it were asked of her. Besides, she didn't have two hours for that. The little ones would start wondering where she were, if she were gone for so long probably. "Discord, yes. My sister and I met him a few times. He seemed so nice to everyone in Ponyville... I still can't believe what he ended up doing. It's been an unmitigated catastrophe. *sigh* And I can't imagine it will be easy on the other draconequui. It's gonna be a long time before anyone would try and trust their kin again, even if they didn't have anything to do with his calamity." It might seem odd to care about their kind at all, considering what had gone on, but she couldn't make herself hate those who hadn't a thing to do with this. Most of their kin she'd met or heard about, were weaker than Discord, and spent their time mostly just pranking and goofing around, or doing more small scale mischief. Yet they were likely one and all gonna be judged because of him now, even if she doubted many had followed him in his war efforts. Weren't much fun to play around in the world, if it was a smoking ruin. She could imagine that most had either hid away, or been killed by now though. Afraid of retaliation from the survivors, slain by them, or brought to death, for refusing to join Discord. Sure some had likely joined in, but she doubted it were many. And those left, might end up hiding for years, if not centuries, hoping for things to ease up. Imagine if one showed here in Troy though, as things were... It were a question if there'd be more anger or fear, but either way, it were highly unlikely to be welcoming. "But speaking of better things, it's good to hear that there were a safe haven up there, for those who could make it. And that you'd accept those who came too. You probably ended up saving a lot of lives that way. And I think I heard about Nirvana. Briefly though, I'm afraid. Is she still alive? I know a lot of queens didn't make it through the calamity, and it weighs heavily on those who lost theirs." Their nice conversation were suddenly interrupted by a very peculiar interaction. one of The Grey here? To work together with Mercy, in some fashion? That were certainly not something that she expected. Now were the question. Put her a bit on the spot, oh dear... Well, she'd try give an answer at least. Hopefully it'd make sense as she went along. "Ah, well uh... I guess it depends on who it is, among The Grey? I mean, those they capture and make work for them, to earn their penance, probably fit better where they are. They'd only be in it to clear their debt. But there have to be those who volunteered, because they are remorseful of something they've done, and want to atone. The Grey might have been seen as their only option to try and do something that'd matter for others. So I guess, you'd need to ask The Grey for some who have come to them willingly, and doesn't care about their debt. What sort of work they could do for Mercy though... I dunno. It seems to be based on the individual, so might be best to try and have them send a few, and then evaluate them from there? I can try and help best I can, Selena, but I'll admit, I don't know much about the sort of work Mercy does. I've only really seen... Well, you two. And you seem very different on how you're meant to help." ================================================================ (The Grey) Craven didn't need to be told by Yannit how things were up here. She were better at sensing than him, but he'd wager than most changelings would be able to tell how badly things looked here. Not physically - although it did seem somewhat poorly maintained up here - but emotionally. From the angry and bitter veterans, to the impressionable young, yearning for something better, or at the very least, to fit in somewhere. Impressionable youths... This were a festering storm waiting to happen, and when it did, a lot were going to die. And this without them getting anywhere close to completing their goal. As he saw it at least, the ground based ones were far more numerous, and included The Grey, and various mercenaries and the sort, as well as changelings who'd like to keep their way of life. These up here were not properly combat trained, and most hadn't the experience to fight properly. They'd end up with the biggest losses, and at most would get to have some of them retreating, and then what? Where would they go? What wouldn't it cause of troubles for all of them? They had griffons too, sure, but it were a lot of fliers, against magic users. They wouldn't win, though that didn't mean they couldn't cause a lot of trouble before they lost. Potentially even kill someone important down there, like one of the casino heads. And in that case, he worried it would be Bling. Sure she were well liked, but she were also the newest, and the one that were probably the easiest to get to, of them all. Taking her down, were a statement. A bad one, but sadly, he doubted that this group had thought that far ahead. *sigh* To think that after all the wars they just had, they were now about to enter another... One more along the lines of the old equine racial wars, but with a few additions to either side. It were a tragedy, and one that needed to be halted. He had a few ideas, but that were mostly on infiltrating this, and see if they could defuse it at its source, by taking their leader into custody. Yet they needed more information. Once they were down, and they were certain they weren't followed, they'd seamlessly change forms as they blended with the crowd, and take the long way to The Grey's base. Sure he wanted to hear what his higher ups had of insight, but they could add that via the eyewear. No, if he needed to know how bad things were, he needed to go and ask Basher, and see if he could ascertain how bad of a storm he had been whipping up.

@Dah Onion Eater "Sweet child, you must be so confused. I will come to you, worry not. And fear not. I assure you, that neither I, nor my children, mean you any harm." The voice had barely finished speaking, before a tall door manifested around a pillar, roughly twenty meters away. The pillar itself might have been hard to see at first, as the base were dark, and so were the thing floating above it, around two meters up, plus the distance to it. But if he looked, it'd seem like some sort of ball were up there. Not a special ball, just a regular, beach-ball looking object, though with dulled spikes all around. Though he might more be focused on the suddenly appearing, wooden door, that opened up, shortly before a massive creature wandered out. It looked like an enormous, anthropomorphic bat humanoid, with five sharp claws on each hand, wings attached to her arms, and a somewhat human face, upon which were a warm smile, which fitted the kind look in her eyes. As a sense of scale, he were about the size of half her index finger, and they were around human-length, so it were clear that he could quite easily fit in her hand. As she arrived, the shadows around the place began gathering up, storming towards her, the small flickers of pale grey eyes focusing on her, as the formless masses went to her. Ran across her, through her fingers, around her head - It seemed close to a swarm of birds, dancing around a cartoon princess of sorts, though far stranger. She did not seem to wear clothes, but also no distinctively female or male features, though the voice would make clear this were a lady, as well as the one who had spoken to him, just before. "Fear not, sweet child. I have arrived to help you,. Though regrettably, likely not as much as you might hope. I am Mother, and these are my children. We welcome you to this Purgatory of ours. A world between worlds." Her children seemed to be the formless masses of shadow, that seemed to enjoy her presence greatly. Even if she did not address them yet, beyond gently running her hands through them, like slow fingers through water. Though her attention were mainly on him, and as she looked at him more directly for a moment, she would let out a small sigh, and shake her head vaguely. Yes... I feel it clearly. You fell from your world. A tear formed, and you stumbled through, ending here. It is rare, yet can happen, and you are fortunate it were here you ended. Some dimensions are not livable to mortals, and I can at the least, bring you to a home like where you came from. Were you from one of the countless dimensions that make up our reality, it would be simple, but you have fallen through from another reality. A most unfortunate event, whose origins I know not. All I know is that I can only bring you to the world you are from, in our reality. A different place, where you may never have even been born, but it will be mostly like what you knew. Tell me child, know you a land called Equestria? You remind me much of a master to one of my children. Another pony, wearing wings of metal. Perhaps the same country he resides in, are familiar to you." If he had at some point during all of this fled, she would have stood where she did, but her words would still come to him. It mattered not how long he fled. The landscape were endless darkness, and the pale light. There were nowhere to escape to. No other assistance to look for. Only the grace of Mother, who seemed the only one who could help him. ================================================================================= @Catpone Cerberus Hmm... Music, out here of all places? Bah, and here you'd think the forest wouldn't have that sorta thing. Bird chirps and stuff, but song? Ponies and their weird quirks. Though maybe it wasn't a pony? Could be there was a deep pool, connecting to the ocean, and a siren had snuck inland? Hah, that'd be something. She hadn't seen one of those things in centuries. A meaty paw grabbed around a tree, and tore it from the ground, as she wandered forward, taking large bites out of it as she followed the music. When she'd eventually get there, whoever sang would see a large, beefy looking draconequui, The front muscle with huge arms, yet from the torso and down, going into a furred snake-tail. Seemed she were able to both slither, go forward with her arms, or likely lounge, using the strong tail to give her momentum for her to dash forward, grabbing whatever, or whoever she wished, with either her arms or her massive maw. Her yello- No orange- Blue- Her irises shifted in color constantly, making it impossible to tell what the real one were, if even there were one. Yet the eyes were slit, like a vipers, and looked directly towards the source of the singing. The bull-dog like jaws, going into a grin, showing off the razor-sharp, pearly whites As well as a red dog leash, that were stuck between one of her teeth. She'd rise the large tree trunk up, and take a ridiculously large bite out of it, tearing through the cracking wood like it were a pork scratching, and chewing it down with constant crunching noises, as the wood were splintered, swallowed, and devoured by the beastly visage. Glutton were not the most flashy draconequui. While those like Discord were unique in his myriad of parts, Glutton looked mostly like there were parts from a diamond dog, a snake, and a bulldog, mixed into an impressive, meaty beast of a woman, with a short, wild flame-like mohawk, going in a line all the way from her head, down to the beginning of the bulbous end of her tail, where it thinned out and became even shorter, leaving the bulb itself as the only part without this thick line of hair. Her other colors were various nuances of brown, with the darkest brown being for the bulbous, spiked mass, like most diamond dogs had. The difference being that the spikes were both sharp, and briefly separated, to reveal another mouth within it. Were it not for her odd eyes, posture, ridiculous size - around double the height of Celestia - and the way she seemed able to eat trees, you might be able to pass her as a weird diamond dog kind of lamia. But this were more than that, even if she were as said, not as flashy as her brethren. She didn't feel she needed to. She were larger than life, formed to fit in it how she wanted to, and if anyone had an issue, then that were their issue. "Now what we got here?" Her voice were gravelly and deep, with a certain degree of amusement to it, as she saw something that she had certainly not expected. ================================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Can't say that I disagree with your stance on things, Mr. Vaz. While I do feel forgiveness can be challenging against certain offenses, lingering on them too long can be stagnating, and potentially inhibit healing. Be it physically, or emotionally. And as you say, hatred can feed upon itself, and spur on. Whoever those you speak of are, I hope they can in time come to surpass their grievances, and if not forgive, then at least move past it. Though I suppose, I don't know their circumstances, any more than I know yours. So my perspective is probably somewhat lacking, for the ones involved." Quite likely, there were a reason for whatever grievances those other kobolds had, just as there were clearly more to Vaz's story, that would change perspectives, but that were always the thing, wasn't it? The less information one had, the more uninformed your opinion would end up being. In this case, that being hers, yet she could only respond from a place of objective neutrality and offering well wishes on this, barring any more information being revealed to her. Alas, there would be time for stories later, she hoped. They would soon enough be where they should, and they should prepare for that. Which for her were simple enough, as she simply needed the train to stop, and then they could be on their way. Only thing that would happen beyond that, were the very thing that tended to happen every once in a while: A small crack opened on her surface, to let out a small puff of heated air. Nothing dangerous, just a little venting, one might say. Said crack did appear on her face though, right above her eye, and then harden up again right after. had Vaz seen that, he may well question what were with her, but with their destination being close, this too were relegated to a later story time, regardless of his perception. They had work to do. ======================================================================= @Catpone Cerberus "Seems reasonable. When you feel your time's up, then that's it. If the fabled one you speak of is still alive somewhere, that'd probably be the closest link to Ancalagon there'd be on this island. Who knows? Maybe if they're real, I'll run into them sometime, long as it's not like, they moved to another dimension or something. I dunno. Ancient magic could be really potent, and having over ten millennia, working with arcane magic... Man, I can't even imagine. I'm still working on trying to generate a miniature sun, but it's difficult keeping stable. It's good having goals though. Our lives are too long to be ignorant. Best to learn something, and strive for something worth it." A bit cold in it this guy, but Voltaick was alright. Informative at the least, though she doubted he and Ruby would get along, anytime soon. But then, Ruby never did strike her as one that you got along with easily. Charir were blood, and Ruby and herself had been through several things, so that helped on things. Voltaick and her though? Like two cats sizing one another up. Just y'know, with fire breathing and claws and stuff. It wasn't a perfect analogy, but she'd perhaps think of something more fitting later. Leviathan openly cringed as she saw the necklace being snapped off, worrying that some sort of standoff might ensue, due to how Ruby's grasp were on this thing normally, but thankfully it seemed that they were in the clear, as she had only a minor reaction of seemingly shock, as the medallion were crushed into dust. At this point, Leviathan had calmed down again from her own, momentary shock, and did smirk a bit, as she saw how Voltaick were summoned. Sure Werodex could have just called him, but this showed her magic, that she were powerful, and Voltaick who were in charge, just in case. Definitely a lot to learn from this elder, even if it wasn't from a perspective of magic. Plus she liked her style. This was kinda funny. Seeing Ruby walk off, did concern her though, and she followed the dragoness with her eyes, and turned her head as she wandered out. Made sense she'd want some distance, considering what just happened, but she still hoped that Ruby were okay. She worried about her greatly, even if at least physically, it were laughable to think that she could handle something that Ruby couldn't. "I hope she's alright... Can't say I really know what that necklace were even doing to her. I just know I tried to steal it once, because I thought it were precious to her, and I didn't know better. *sigh* But I digress. Elder Werodex, I don't have questions right now, but I thank you for your time, your help, and your compliments. I hope that as time goes on, I can in some way return the favor, as time passes. But I think you're right, we need rest, and I have to make sure she's okay. Farewell for now, Elder Werodex." She'd bow before the seven-times-her-age elder, and then make her way outside to find Ruby, alongside likely Charir, if he hadn't followed his big sister before. Unless Werodex had more to say before she left. Wouldn't want to offend her after all. ===================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "That is the main point with her course too. Ponies aren't made for water battles normally either, hence she shows why it is needed that we train and get better at it, in case we need to fight something in the ocean. Which isn't exactly an uncommon thing. We are the Coastal Guards, after all." That Sergeant Kelp also took joy in bashing overconfident recruits around, were more of a bonus for her, that she kept claiming didn't take away from her larger point. "Selective breeding? Well... Long as it's voluntary, and not like how some do with dog breeds and stuff. I don't think I'll ever understand that. Anyway, it sounds like kobolds are really varied in how they handle things, and their communities. It's pretty impressive honestly. Also that I've never seen a kobold before, since it sounds like there'd be a lot of you. I don't think I've met another race who didn't have curious young that didn't go out exploring, even if they're isolated. I guess I were just unlucky, until now." While they had a nice chat in here, in the other room, Happy were helping his queen prepare to get out of said room. She were gathering enough strength to walk on her own, but still, he wanted to make sure she were okay, so he were standing near, as she prepared herself mentally to walk out. She would not be caught stumbling in this place. It were beneath her dignity. ======================================================= @EQ_Theta "Orders are easy. Decisions are hard. If it have to be done fast, telling me what to do is good. Thinking takes time for me. You are not a bad friend for making me do things, before I can decide if they are okay. You are my friends. I trust you, so I do as you ask, like I do with Discord." Even after all this time, and her disobeying him by choosing her own path, Omen still would listen to her master, if he told her to do something. Long as it did not involve hurting others, of course. That were against Mother's rules, and her word were the most important on this. What she had told them did not change that, as like with Sen and Lin, Omen trusted that Mother did what she thought was the best, and believed her, as she did them. Hence if they told her to do something, it were not about giving her an order that took away her free will. It was about her trusting that what they wanted her to do, were important, even if she didn't have time to think about why. "And what it feels like... It is warm, but not like fire. Not heavy either. Just a strange warmth inside. Like eating burning wood, but without the wood. And without the tingling." It were hard to describe, but relief were first off not something she knew how felt, as she did not generally posses the ability to worry enough for her to have a notable swing there, at least far as she knew, and second off, she couldn't say it were like a lack of weight. It were just warmth. She had not put something down, or had a part of her taken off. Had she? Omen would look down herself, raising her hooves a few times, trying to see if something were wrong, and feeling her shoulders with her tongue, but everything seemed okay. Or well, not exactly. Shrimp weren't there, and he were not on either Sen, nor Lin. Where were he then? As it turned out, he had been on Mother still, when they were about to leave, but had slithered out on his own, then rummaged around the unformed siblings for a bit, trying to see if he could bite into the shadows, or ride them, like he did Omen and the others. When they had begun gathering, he had followed along, as this smelled very much like Omen and her kind, as well as being barren and free of dangers like cats, or other ponies, so he felt it were calm. This were now also the reason he were currently slithering out of the sleeve of one of the newly formed sibling's waving clothes, looking around confused, and chirping, whilst looking around, and then directly at the octopus creature, which seemed to simply look at him, with its big eyes. Hard to tell if it were curious or something else, but they should probably go and get him. Omen were on her way to do so at least, but not running. He were with one of her siblings, and their master had been deemed good by Mother. She doubted he were in danger. ==================================================================== @EQ_Theta Celestia's eyebrows rose a little, as she heard they were from a time before ponies. That were quite the time ago, as she wasn't even certain how long past they had originated with any certainty. only the longer lived races like dragons, and as it stood, they weren't saying. Largely she assumed, because they had not cared about them for a long time in the early years, as they weren't a threat, or worth much as food either. "Yes, my physique is normal for alicorns, once they have had this mantle for at least that of ten years past normal equine maturity. My dear sister is a little smaller, yet it is still within the norm for regular alicorns. Barring a few who have yet to mature fully, this stays true for all of Equestria, and those I know of from beyond our shores. I find it curious to hear, that you are from before ponies though. We do not even know how long past it were, but it reaches back many millennia, judging by what have been found. All the way back to before the beginning of dragon-pony war, which lasted for most of our race's history, and only ended a few centuries past." Sure there were still some degree of animosity and bickering, but for the longest time, this were merely handled by them spending most of the time apart, and not interacting much, if at all with one another. The truce were made between herself and the then dragonlord, and were build on few, but simple rules of punishment for certain things, and the complete criminalization of them eating ponies, and ponies hunting dragons, as the most baseline of things. If a pony was found to do this, they would be hoofed over to the dragons, just as any dragon eating ponies would be. A simple premise, that had caused them to live in if not harmony, then tentative acceptance of one another. A far better outcome, than the thousands of years of battle and sporadic war before that. "A war so old, even the dragons have long forgotten what began it. Truly is a shame, when important history like this, simply wastes away into dust." Truth be told, she did have some clues to it now. By some chance, one of her expeditions had uncovered a frail, almost completely ruined tome, that seemed to have some scattered passages about a time before the first war. But it were annoying to deal with, as most were ineligible, and written in a confounding mixture of ancient draconic and equine, that made it hard and time consuming to gain much from it. Sure it were not majorly important, to how the world were now, but still. She had found this, and would want to know more, though truthfully, while she gained some small insights here and there from it, her hope were more that a better preserved copy existed somewhere. "As one who have been part of much history, I have done what I were able, to have history found and preserved, but alas, some things are even beyond my grasp. But worry not of it. We find things buried long ago, every now and again. The day will come when we have the full history of the equine races. Though there is much to learn still, from what we have found, and written through the ages. The royal library would be a most useful place, for you to know of Equestria, and the state of much else of the world, in the past thousand or two years. From what part of the world do you hail though, if I may ask? Are you too here from the west? Or did you live in the north, south, or even out east?" She knew some alicorns and such around most of the world, though not all places. Enough that perhaps she could send a request for them to traverse the path though, that they may see how their homeland looked now. "Oh you still have regular emotions. I could practically taste the feeling of surprise when you saw Celestia, and your curiosity when I mentioned the tea. A little earthy, but still normal." Wig Woggle would grin a little wider as she said that. Frankly it made her surprised when she had looked closer, and saw they weren't flesh and bone, but she still hadn't figured them golems. Just y'know, some sort of weirdly armored creatures, with a stony appearance. Golems though? Now that were odd, and so were it to find out those still gave off emotions. But hey, it sounded like that were news to them too. "And nostalgia ain't an issue. Just gimme a moment to mix 'em up." She'd turn around with a whistle, and slide a curtain aside, revealing a varied amount of barrels, with each of them marked with an emotion like *Joy*, *Laughter*, *Schadenfreude* and such. Not all good emotions, but changelings were a varied breed, and some had a preference for certain tastes. Only one she refused to carry around really, were bloodlust, since the changelings who preferred that one, weren't some she wanted within 30 kilometers of her, or her store. That hive were insane, and incredibly dangerous. There were also variety in the size of barrels, with some such as *Spite* and *Depression* being only a third size of the larger ones like *Joy*, but that were just how it were. Canterlot was a happy place. Not easy finding depression, nor were it one that sold fast regardless. As for *Nostalgia* it would be in a mid-sized barrel, that she'd then tip the lid on, revealing a burgundy colored liquid, that she'd scoop up with a soup ladle. Each mug would be filled a third with the pure jelly, then set on the desk behind the counter, at which point she'd pour in some varied other liquids. Judging from the smell, there were a hint of strawberry to one of the ingredients, as well as luke-warm, crystal clear water, a few droplets of something from a blood-red pipette, and a few other things that wasn't shown. Couldn't give away the secrets here, y'know? In the end, she'd present them each with a foal-size mug (around the same amount as in a can of soda), of a mahogany-colored drink, with purple swirls, and a cherry in the middle. "There you go. Drink up, and enjoy." When drunk, they'd find that the taste were akin to a spiced cocoa, but that were hardly as noticeable, as the warm feeling of nostalgia that would wash over them. A feeling of better times, and things long pass. Memories may well come back to them, influenced by the emotions, that would slowly wane off, after the tea were drunk, but it varied for those who drank it, in her experience. Some would start crying, as they'd feel like they lost out on time, while others just sat with a smile on their face for a while- Nostalgia was a feeling that depended on the individual. Scarcity would in the meantime, order and pay for a small glass of delight, which would look and smell like an apple martini, just with an odd glittering effect through the glass.

@Catpone Cerberus Found a reference picture for posture of Glutton. (Artist is Sanyo2100 on Deviantart. Not using the character, just reference for body type and posture) This is how she stands, and the general body type, albeit larger. It's easier than trying to explain it, as I am having a bit of an issue doing that, for some reason.
-
@Illiad Easle Nono, that's fine. This one's on me. I completely forgot about that notice. Thank you for reminding my Swiss cheese of a brain. ^^
-
@Catpone Cerberus Yeah. Glutton is one of my Draconequui chars. I basically have: Anomaly (living in the old castle in the Everfree). Fright (controls a pocket dimension, that's basically a big area for meditation and peace). Avarice (runs a bank/loan service) Glutton (lives in the biggest landfill drop-off in Equestria, and devours everything that comes to her) Long story short: Fright was rehabilitated by a pony centuries ago, and in the time since, have taught two of her kin (Glutton and Avarice) how to use their powers more constructively. Like how Glutton went from roaming and eating everything, to now providing a great service, by devouring the trash of Equestria. Even the toxic stuff. Glutton doesn't much care for spreading chaos, or changing others. She considers each to have their own unique, interesting taste, though she's not eating living sapient creatures. A corpse is fair game, but she doesn't much care for the hassle if you start eating say, a pony, or a griffon. Then there's questions, then the elements pops in- Who can be bothered, yeah? Never used her before, but always seen her as one that's not using it a lot regardless, lest there's a need to. She basically looks like a large diamond dog, mixed with a gorilla. So somewhat similar to a regular diamond dog, in that her back legs are smaller, and the top half larger, but even more muscular, and about double their size (think about a head and a half taller than Celestia). Her mouth and head is huge though, and if she just opened it normally, she could easily have a couple of watermelons in there. Though she can also just unhinge and swallow larger things, like trucks, or full on houses. In essence, she doesn't need chaos to get through a cage, when she can just rip off or chew through a caged door, or make a tunnel through a mountain by eating the rocks in a straight line, etc. As for eating, Glutton just eats garbage because Fright convinced her it were a good way for her to always have more than enough to eat, whilst being not a danger to be hunted down, but rather an asset that'd be appreciated. And she does enjoy being valued, rather than scorned. And I don't mean she's dumb per se, just more... Direct in it, than say Discord. She doesn't care much for subterfuge or being sneaky, and is pretty open about who she is, and what she does. Another reason she hasn't picked a nickname or something that disguises her nature even a bit. Nope, she eats things, like a glutton, and she'd happily give you a trip into her mouth if you don't believe her. Not eating some, does not mean she won't transport others in her mouth for fun. Psychological trauma is more of a grey area, heh. Shark is a bit special. She's been around others enough to understand most words by now, but she's still exploring things with the approach of a youngling. Tasting, sniffing, touching- She has a lot of childlike wonder at this new world she's in, and while trying to fit into it, I doubt she'll actually ever lose this part, as I think it's integral to her character. She is also easily distracted by new things, so the time you ran into her, she were looking around a lot with things happening at the school, and those she met within. Though more clearcut communication will happen with Glutton, yes.
-
@Catpone Cerberus So she's strange looking, need someone who doesn't care about warnings to get her out, and she likes eating things in a way that some would find abhorrent? And whoever it is, also needs to have no issues wandering around in a forest, that isn't normally travelled so well? ...If I keep the chaos to a minimum, can I use Glutton? Been referencing her a lot, but not had the chance to use her, and she'd definitely do these things. She's brutish and direct, so she won't care for mind games, and though she's not dumb, she would totally release your insect, just to see what'd happen. Might be she's *reformed* but she still likes her fun, and thinks that worst comes to worst, she'll just clean up the mess. Primarily through eating through the rubble, and snap to fix the rest if she feels like it. Including eating your character, if she becomes too much trouble, though that is of course, only a hypothetical. No need to worry she'd actually do that. As for why she'd stumble over her? She wanders off from time to time. Sure eating the mass amounts of garbage that's dumped at her home is delicious, but she wants more than just the rich tastes of Equestria. Life is a buffet, and she wants a big bite of it all. Including satiating her hunger for exploration. The garbage will still be there when she returns, and she can then go back to consuming ton upon ton of various things. There is 1 other option though. This one. Shark is a shark pony, created by one of my other draconequui, to solve an issue she caused. Essentially kidnapping and force-evolving a shark some specific pathways a few hundred thousand years in a few seconds, and after solving the issue, she stuck around. She's very friendly, and very curious, as she is still trying to get used to this dry world, and understand all that is in it. Often by booping into it, or chew on it, though she gets the basic from her creator: If it speaks, it is probably not food. And yes, she eats meat. Primarily fish. She could work, since Shark spends her time not in town, trying to learn how to pony, being in the forest, and hunting. If she heard singing, she'd go there, and she's rather gullible, so you could probably rather easily convince her to release Asildae, though I must warn you: Shark WILL try and make a friend of her new bug companion, and if you run into any mutant frogs, she's gonna messily devour them. That's what she were made for. As for your points... I can go through them quickly. :3 1. I honestly thought Ruby were way larger than 2 Celestia's. I'll keep that in mind. 2. Lean, mean, killing machine. She'd get along well with the Manetids (essentially large, intelligent mantis people. Might be a fun idea for later) 3. Fuzzy means she will be pet. I'm sorry, I don't make the rules, I just live by them. 4. Oh yeah, if Onache saw her, she'd totally try, so that's fair. And hive-minds would prove troubling, as it's not just one mind you're trying to go into, but countless. Even a piece of one, must be difficult. Though in her current state, she won't do a lot regardless. But it's good to know for future reference. 5. Aaaand I need to rewatch The Fly now.

@Illiad Easle (Null) (I got nothing planned for the evening) ================================================================= (Ranger) Both the paper fox and Kozue, would bounce slightly backwards, as the vial was thrown into the wall and shattered. They had not expected an outburst like this from Ranger. Sure she had not been thrilled when Rainbow Dash were talked about, but the name itself causing such anger were unexpected, and it surprised them both. Kozue even almost let out a yi- Now wait, he actually Did let out a small yip too. Embarrassing, but he had to go on, and finish what he were saying. too late to back out anyway, since he clearly already got her miffed, to put it lightly. "Sure thing. And uh... Sorry about upsetting you before. I guess I came on a bit forcefully, and crossed a line. I'll try not to say... Well, y'know what, anymore." He could swear that if the paper fox were able, it would have rolled its eyes at him right now. He would've, in its place, because him stammering out an apology, albeit genuine, were about as smooth as sandpaper. He still believed he were right, and that Ranger shouldn't be thinking her life were disposable, but he had brought her family into this, and mentioned someone that she clearly didn't want to even hear about. The family stuff alone were going a bit too far, in hindsight. Wasn't like he actively knew them, so though he were still sure he were right, that their lives weren't expendable like this, he should've been more respectful, and not force it as hard. And considering her stance on the particular ponies they were cloned from, using Dash's name was a whoopsie he should've seen. Like, not to the degree he had, but still. It were maybe not the smartest. Least it was good to see that the things he found brought a bit of a smile back on her face, and the paper fox were sure curious too, as it was over there, looking over her shoulders and from around her, to get a good angle to work with. It thought them somewhat like itself for a bit, and that they would suddenly be made to spring to life, but it did not seem like that was the idea. It was just still memories, that they would bring back for someone. Who it were? No idea, but it were interested in meeting them, and seeing if they looked somewhat like this. If not, maybe they at least had like, a folder, or a page of a phone book or something. Some numbers would be delicious. Well, at least it got to see, so it could be patient... For now, anyway. Plenty to look at around here too, so it'd focus on that for the time being, and then think on this later. Kozue thought over it. Was quite the door this one, and not a regular one either, that was for sure. Well, not the sort he were used to at least, so he had to think this over for a little bit. While he did that, the paper fox would simply begin to unfold, then slide under the small hole under the door, where it would then reform on the other side. If there were a way to open it from there, it would do so. If nit, it'd wait for a bit, for them to get in, and look around itself in the meantime. On this side, Kozue would more or less seem to ignore that, then look over the options. "Hmm, well, I can try a few things." Sadly he wasn't tech savvy enough to try and magically hack the lock, if it was any good. besides, he didn't know this type. But he'd try a few magical tricks. First would be to just run a paw over, and see if there were a trace on the keypad itself, from previous users. If there were a lingering trace of any sort, he might be able to get the code like that. usually this worked the best with more recent uses though. But this place had been left alone for so long, that it might work. If not that, he'd see if it could be budged at all, using some magic to push up from beneath. Yet if it were well stood, it'd likely do very little. This door looked heavy. Next option would be the see what kept the door there. He might be able to erode the hinges or frame of it, if that seemed an option. A more brute force option, but it were something to work with. =================================================================== (Cherish) "I read that pony marks can take time, to understand. But I see a book. Maybe you are meant to read a lot, and be smarter?" There were a slight bit of hope in Crow's voice, saying that. She didn't really communicate with many that read a lot. Sure Cherish knew how to read, and they did do that at times, but someone who actively read often, to get smarter? She were doing that herself, and it would be good knowing someone else like that. Though pony marks were indeed strange, so who knew what she were meant to do? "I have seen that strange thing on the book though. Some of the books I found. Not sure what it means." "I dunno, but yep, I was there when she got her mark! It was so exciting! I hadn't seen that in a long time, and then suddenly Gemini falls down a ladder, and poof: Cutie mark! Well, she maybe got it before falling down, but that's when we saw it anyway." The barrage of questions took Crow by surprise, and she took a hesitant step back, and almost took another, before she stopped herself, and cautiously stepped forward again, to where she had been before. If they had looked, they might've seen a brief look in her eyes, like a cornered rat, looking for an escape, but it were fleeting. "Sorry, I am... Not used to so many, asking me questions. So... I find all kinds of things, but I prefer to find books. The coolest thing I found is a book of gold and silver, but I don't understand what it says. It has strange symbols everywhere. Not that dangerous. Dune hounds are prey, and scorpions can't hurt me. You just be safe, it be okay. Sometimes there is golem things though. Stay away from them. They sometimes try to chase others, but they are slow. Sometimes lonely, but... I have Cherish. She always been a good friend. Sand not so bad. I grew up around lots of it." At that point, Cherish would flutter forward, and whisper something in Crow's ear, that'd make the dragon nod twice. "Okay. If Elef want, we can hunt a dune hound, when scavenging is done. And I forgot one thing. Well two. One is that there is lots of corpses, in the desert. Do not be scared. They just dead, and do not need their things. Sand shifts a lot around. Sometimes, they and their things come up. And there is strange pony out here. Weird metal wings. He not dangerous, I think, but he hunt golems. I think he is crazy, but he have not tried hunting me. I think he is safe." As she said the last sentence, the vulture were done with her meal, and took off, with mighty flaps of her wings, towards the north of the desert. Sometimes she stuck around for a little, but she had no interest, when it were this crowded. It got too noisy for her taste. ================================================================= (Void) Void were surprised by getting the hug, especially from one so much nearer her size than normal. In fact, this reminded her a fair bit of when she met Princess Celestia, and the mare went in to giv her a hug as well, just softer, and not as gentle. It were also reminiscent of that because of something else. A feeling- Or rather, the absence of one. Something that briefly made a cold shiver go down her spine, as for a split second, she feared the curse had returned. But that passed soon, as she recalled something she had heard about llamas, and when Illambda herself said so too afterwards, the relief going over her were definitely notable. "Nono, it's f-fine miss. Honestly, it was just a surprise, and a short reminder of different times. I... Well, my sister and I, were born with a curse, that drained all magic around us. We only recently had it removed, and I admit, I was worried it had returned for a brief moment. We heard stories about the wool of Llamas, and what it did, but we weren't sure they were true. Funnily enough, when we were on the run, we did head towards Himallama, but our transport got derailed pretty badly, so we ended up going a few other places, before ending in Equestria. It's a shame. I think your kin may have been more understandable about our condition, than most others we ran into." Saying derailed was a massive understatement. It instead involved their whole group getting kidnapped, and transported to the Siren Brother's arena island, and after they managed to get out of there, they just ran in whatever direction was the closest out of there. Maybe if they hadn't been hit with yet another bout of bad luck, they'd have found themselves a permanent home, among the llamas. IAt the least they seemed to understand their plight more, so they might have given them a chance. Or with their luck, Null's allergies would kick in again. To prove she didn't mind the feeling of a hug, Void would next go a step closer, and give the llama a hug. Now she knew what to expect, the feeling of nothing, weren't jarring anymore. "You can try. I think Selena very approachable and friendly. Just maybe best to be sure to ask her, before you hug her. She's been a large help for myself, and my sister too, since we got here. I don't think things would have gone as well as they did, if it wasn't for her. Can I ask though, how is Himallama? Is it anything like Zebrica? We tried going there once, but my sister couldn't take it. Something in the fauna I think, made her really sick, so we had to go away, before we got that far, and most of what we heard about Himallama is what we could see on a map, or what we heard about your kin. It didn't tell a whole lot, so I'm a little curious, if that's okay?" ======================================================= (Grey) Yannit just shrugged at the comment about being disappointed in her. "I work with metal, not schmucks. Figured those things might need repairs, and would make for easy work." Frankly, it would be more suspicious in her mind, if she went here for the casinos. Devil's Creek were never a massive place, and it wasn't like the residents were rich beyond belief. If they actually got enough together to take a vacation to Las Pegasus, they sure wouldn't go waste everything they saved up on the casinos. The entertainment venues were far more interesting, especially when you lived out in nowhere. Wasn't much legal fun to have out there. Besides, she touted herself a blacksmith. Carousels had some engineering, but it were made of metal, as were a lot of other constructions for foals and families. The nitpickers could work on tech, but it needed folks to provide raw materials for the big things. Sorta like how trains were all fine and good, but you needed someone to lay down some tracks. Which she also could, mind you. She hadn't picked a profession she couldn't back up. She'd been undercover doing these sorts of things before, and knew her way around a forge. Dirty work, but it weren't so bad, once you got used to the heat, and hammering at metal were a fine way to get some tensions out of the body sometimes. Better than smacking others around she found incompetent, yeah? "We'll think about it." Craven would take the paper, and look it over, making sure that The grey would be able to see it too, through his headband, then put it into his bag. They'd both give a small nod as she took off, then go back to their mugs for a bit, before Craven started talking at a regular tone, though he weren't looking directly at Yannit. More just out in the room, thinking out loud. "Sounds a bit lofty to me. What do you think?" Yannit again, would simply shrug, seeming consistently indifferent, though her mind raced well with some ideas, as well as thoughts on this being an ambush or trap, and the idiocy in their plan. Separationists like this never succeeded, because most had gotten well used to one another, among the ponies. Especially after the war, folks were huddled closer together, with all kinds of folks. How did they think they could return to the times of racial division? And why would they? Something seemed off about this... "Eh, work's work." "Hmm... I guess that's true." They'd sit and contemplate in silence, and unless interrupted, would just finish their drinks, then leave, and head down to the streets below, to seemingly have a look around. They'd also be on the lookout, to see if they were being tracked. Never could count on trust, when it came to stuff like this. Of course they could just take off to see the gathering spot right away, but that didn't seem wise. Best to strategize, and think things over first. As well as notice if they were followed, or tracked in any other manner that they knew of.

Blitz Boom replied to Illiad Easle's topic in OOC & Discussion
@Illiad Easle I really thought I had answered this. Bugger. xD Good that you figured out a candidate though. How to integrate them into things though... I'm not sure. She's gotten gifts of selflessness, so she could probably help those in town who are down on her luck, like the performers I've used were. Void's view on Mercy is definitely positive currently. She sees a selfless creature, who have been granted gifts to continue to go that route, and help others. Yes she will have to rely on other means to help herself to an extend, but it still seems very doable, and she's giving a good impression to Void. I do wonder if there'll be a clash about Elef though, between Mercy and Vengeance. -
@Illiad Easle Hey there mate. Mind me asking, how come you no longer write in this thread? Wondering if perhaps you've just hit a lul in interest or something.

@Catpone Cerberus "I assure you Mr. Vaz, that I have no need to judge you for past actions. I am a scientist, and while I am curious, and would take your story into consideration, I believe that it is important to look at things more broadly. For instance how you're openly saying that you wish to atone, for whatever had happened. Trying to better yourself, and feeling remorse for past actions, is a sign of one that deserves to be given the chance to prove themselves. I thank you for accepting our call to cooperate on this matter too. Even if you know not what exactly this is, your sizable pool of knowledge may well come in handy regardless. As a matter of fact, I may have some questions myself, once we are in more private settings. Nothing that should unsettle you, or that pokes into anything you don't wish to discuss, I assure you. I am just seeking knowledge of a rather... Unusual situation. For the time being though, we should enjoy the ride, long as it lasts. Have you anything to add mayhap, sir?" Magma would look towards Solar, who had been rather quiet, all things considering. Perhaps he - like herself - wished to ask questions best asked in private? She could imagine so, considering the subjects they had touched upon, though not in grand details. Several of which she'd like to touch upon further, but for the time being, she'd remains civil, as well as discrete. ================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Awh come on. I could at the least try and teach some flair." She'd breathe slowly, using her magic to let a thing, dark cloud, with roiling thunder coiling through, escape, and take form into a long, slender snake, that would do a few loops around her, before roaring, and dissipating. The roar were a crackling of thunder, granted, but the point stood! Just breathing thunder were one thing. She could do that too. It were something else entirely to mold that thunder into something more creative. Or if you really wanted to mess things up, a ball lightning. The grin on leviathan's face when he spoke to her, were almost to the point where you'd think her head would just pop in half, when Charir actually spoke back to her. "And I'll listen to every word. But you're right, We're here for a reason, and we outta have some focus on that first. We got plenty of time later." She already looked forward to them competing about who could do the coolest thing with thunder. Granted, that were likely years down the line, and she had an ace on him, in her age and experience, but never let it be said that the old folks knew everything. She'd frankly learned a few thing here and there, from beings quite a bit younger than herself. Including other dragons. There were something a bit hurtful, about being humbled in some knowledge by a whelpling, but if you could swallow your pride, there were wisdom in youth, every now and again. "The salamanders sounds a lot like my mom's folks. Not feral per se, just you know, more reserved, and doesn't really like anyone. I'll keep in mind to keep my distance from them, and try not to annoy them. The serpents look prettier too, anyway. No offense to the salamanders, but the sleep body type, is pretty nice. Bit of a bias on my end though, I suppose. And I'm not worried if Werodex doesn't know. I really mean it, that he's the eldest of elder dragons we know. Anyone else from his time, is dead, and he were ancient when most of our current elder dragons were hatched. And I dunno what the criteria would be here, but in the Dragon Isles, you can't be considered an elder dragon, unless you're ten thousand years old. Sure we can survive it biologically, but usually someone gets killed, or has an accident or something. Sometimes the rare disease. Getting to the ten thousand isn't that common, and Ancalagon makes those seem young. Not that we know how old he actually is. Old lizard likes to keep his secrets, especially about the past. Can't guess why, but I always just assumed he knows things that is best kept to himself. Or he is so old he forgot it. Either way, I think I only know of about... Thirty-five or so, actual elder dragons around the world, not counting him. Some from the Dragon Isles, some not." "If I am honest? I am at this moment, wondering if you can read our minds, Elder Werodex. That beyond, I am mostly curious of your kin, your magic, and how it may help Charir. He means much to me, yet much as I know my magic, I am not certain of how his work. As you say, i am small of stature. Such have always been my curse, yet I wield powerful magic in turn. I have learned, often through trial and error, how to harness this, and I wish for any dragon who can cast a spell, to do so. I think it wasteful, when it is left unharnessed, and it saddens me to see missed potential, to enjoy something as expansive and enrichening as magic. I am hoping that being here, we can find him help, and I admit to wishing to see how your kin express it too, to see if perhaps I can gleam some knowledge usable to myself too." She admittedly were curious about Ancalagon too, but Elder Wreodex likely did not know him. He didn't much care to interfere in the politics of other countries. Though if they were open to visitors say, 17.000 years or so, he would have visited, bored on a travel, and curious what he'd find here. If the island were split at that time, he'd approach as a large, fire red dragon, though within margin of the locals, and wander directly towards the bubble, smashing any who wished to challenge him to the side like they were nothing, but not killing outright. More because he didn't see a reason to, rather than not being able. And if he had to increase in size to let them leave him be, he would so too, and approaching the barrier, barring anything that would keep him out, he'd then enter, and examine this other place. He were somewhat friendly. Not one to fight, lest others began it, as he were strong enough to where it always felt like a wasteful time of hitting down for him. And if spoken to equally, or respectfully, he would answer in kind. Speak of where he came from - Equestria, before it were that country formally - his name, and asking questions of this place. Yet his background he'd be vague about, saying that he were an old relic, that had long since become the last he knew, and that history were his alone. Lest they had some tales of the ancient times, back before the dragon clans shattered across the world and changed. He always had an interest in tales older than he, since they were so rare. And if he had been here, he would be blunt that he were not there at his true size, as it would cause trouble. Though he wouldn't specify how large he actually were. Who knew? Could be they learned some of dragons from the Dragon Isles, via what he told them. Though it was likely not that, and they had met others, or read of them in some way. ===================================================================== @Catpone Cerberus "Oh that's neat. We probably don't have any at Shark Bay, even though we have a great, clean bay, and ocean. Mostly because the local mermaids wouldn't be too thrilled with competition for the food I'd wager, but who knows? We've only barely started to have talks with them properly, so there's lots we still don't know, of life so far beneath the waves. If you've never met a mermaid, you can see one in Shark Bay too. Sergeant Kelp is one. She teaches underwater combat at HQ. Don't let her goad you into a fight, she's not as fragile as she looks, and she likes to mess around with those who think they're tough. Sorta like an otter playing with an oyster." "It's usually a big hit with the veterans, to see which one of the new recruits ends up taking the bait though. And it's good to hear that someone is talking sense here. Mother or healer, you should listen to those who want the best for you." Yes Harpoon were a hypocrite, as she really should still lay down for a bit, but she were a mother. Being a hypocrite on some things, were part of the job sometimes. "Hey, I'm not doing anything dangerous or taxing. I'm mostly just taking patrols around, and making sure everything looks okay. I don't fight, or even jump into the water. The Oyster Farmers do more than I do right now, at the end of their shifts. Anyway, it's interesting how adaptable you kobolds are. You have a great diversity in your race, that I can't say I really know if any other can compete with." =============================================================== @Dah Onion Eater (this happens a bit after what is mentioned with EQ-Theta, so the two are not overlapping) Tossed from a who knew where, an opening between worlds, would suddenly appear, and someone would find themselves tumbling into a dark realm, with a soft underlayer. The area were strange. Seemingly unending, with nothing seemingly staying the same. Towering ships of shadow would rise up, just to fall apart, replaced with odd formations, always in motion, never with much meaning behind them. Like seeing a dark, fleeting imagination, of a child without focus. Everything were lit up by a a pale glow, that seemed to have no origin behind it. It were simply there, giving some soft light to the landscape. The ground itself weresimply dark, without any texture to it. A smooth surface, though you wouldn't slip on it, and often you'd be able to see the darkness move across. There, he would at times see eyes. Various shapes and sizes, looking towards him briefly, though if he showed no signs of active magic, there'd be little more there, and there were nothing said in a language that he'd understand. Just various noises of other languages, ever so often whispering in his head, if he were close to clusters of eyes. One voice that would not be so, would come to him shortly after. A soothing, female voice, travelling upon a cold wind, directly to his ear. The only wind that would be found in this place, as it felt like not a breeze would move. "A felt a tear, stranger than have been here in an age... You have stumbled from far away, have you not?" The voice spoke in perfect equine, meaning that whoever the unseen speaker were, might know something, like a way home. The way he came in were not an option, that were certain, as whatever rift or other thing he had fallen through, had closed again near instantaneously. ======================================================================== @EQ_Theta Omen took a moment to answer, as her eyes were fixated on the scene. A creature of magic, likely not from the world Equestria were in, looking over the various siblings, as they came nearer, wanting to be the one to serve. Mother were not there in person. She never were, when one had to chose a sibling. She sensed intentions as best she could from afar, then let her words flow on her cold breath, headed towards the recipient. Words that explained where they were, to not be afraid, and what the process entailed, for bringing one of the Ki'Nathar with them. One could question how she knew the language of those who visited, but it were likely that she had some way of speaking, that were understood by all in this domain, as well as understanding them. Might have come from all the memories she had taken away, or it were just something within her power. Either way, she were communicating, and the octopus creature seemed to respond via a complex mixture of lights emanating on various places on its body, and some sort of vibration, that distorted the air enough so that even they could slightly see that. "...It reminds me of when Master Discord picked me. Mother speaking to him, and him looking. Searching through all the siblings, until he chose me. He was not perfect. he did not teach me everything I needed, and the world he left me in, were too different from his. Nothing were the same. But he tried. You try too, all of you, but not in the same way. You teach, you ask, you suggest... Orders are easy. Having to think on things, and be asked my opinion, is strange, and hard." In the distance, the squid creature would seem to have found one he liked, as a tentacle reached down, and with a gentle motion, would use the tip to rise one up from the flock. A formless glob like they all once were, beyond the eyes. Sixteen of them, from the looks of things. Narrowed and with a slit in them, like a dragon's eye, but multiplied. The squid would then use four different arms, to physically mold the creature, while above, the staff began having what looked like sand in gold, pink, and dark blue, escape from various points of the staff, and roil up towards the angler fish, which would stop swimming around, and instead with an open maw, would look directly towards the shadow. The sand would gather on its light, and then began shimmering and falling down upon the shadow, which in combination with the movements, began to give shape to a creature. Slowly but surely. Within a few minutes, in which omen were silent, there would be a creature similar to the octopus. A half meter shorter though, and with a mixture of dark grey, and the various color of glittering sand from before, making for intricate, swirly patterns upon its hide. It's eyes opening on head and at various, symmetrical places along its tentacles, and looking around, moving its body, and feeling the sensation of form for the first time. The squid would then swirl the staff above the creature, and a dress, somewhat akin to what it wore, but with holes for the extra eyes, would shimmer into existence from seemingly nowhere, and give some coverage to the newly formed sibling, before the light went out in his staff, and he's use a few tentacles to gently prod at the sibling, making sure that it were okay, and directing it in how to now move its tentacles, to attain stable flight. "...I think, the way things have gone, are best. A master gives us life. A beginning, and knowledge of life. But friends sharing and asking, I think is the way things are meant to go. Just like when we leave our masters, to learn from the world ourselves. I still listen to my master, and I think he knows that. But you are my friends, and I know that if I were to choose, I would pick you, just like I did when we found him. Something rolls through me when I think of it. An emotion. Strange, but warm. I think it is telling me the same." ================================================================ @EQ_Theta "Think nothing of it, darlings. Your situations have after all, changed rather drastically, and you find yourselves awakened in a strange time, very unlike your own. That you need time to acclimate, is all but understandable. Just give it time, and I'm certain you will adapt." They were frankly doing better than she expected. She had prepared for multiple scenarios, in which the town confused and maybe frightened them, to avoid any pesky issues, and yet they had sailed through remarkably well, and made good connections with others too. It alleviated much of the worst possible outcomes, and the rest, in how they were still wandering closely with one another for instance, were simply things that required time to acclimate to, from their end. Were she in their hooves, she would likely to have done much the same, and she believed it easy to explain it that way to others too, if questions started being asked. It were also a testament to the skill of the Stone Matron, that their appearance didn't get more attention. Golems had unfortunate reputations, but as they looked so lifelike, most glances from others, were due to them seeming like a strange, yet perfectly regular race. Integration should be a breeze, when it began circulating that they were in fact golems, yet between them not having caused issues, and her being there to vouch for them, the worst of the fearful voices shouldn't be able to inspire much more than a low key worry, among select groups. Far be it from her to be rude towards her own kin, but ponies really were incredibly simple and predictable at times. But one shouldn't complain about something which eased her work, hm? "I'm sure you will experience plenty of surprising sensations, when you begin to enjoy life's offerings." She couldn't outright speak of the matron, as it would not fit the story, but she knew enough to know that yes, they would be able to experience this. The sensation of touch, the breeze upon their skin, how potential scales or hairs may sway in the breeze, taste, sounds, warmth and cold- In most ways, their bodies were like normal. Except they were a little heavier, yet still as nimble and agile as they would have been, when alive, did not require sleep, and couldn't carry diseases, nor age. There were also of course, how they could not procreate, as they were not beings of flesh and blood, but she had researchers looking into alternative options to help them further. Not part of their current deal, but she had the feeling that being able to offer a way for them to regain their true, flesh and blood bodies, would be a valuable bargaining chip. As for hunger, he didn't need to eat, per se, but it were a natural emotion, so it were related to his mind. Still, he would be able to test his new taste buds soon enough. One step at a time, however. "An unusual origin, but all are welcome in Equestria, who seek to live in harmony. I hope our fair capitol have treated you well thus far." The princess would bow her head towards them, one at a time. Golems were potential trouble, but they seemed polite, calm, rational, and Scarcity clearly saw no issue wandering with them. It alleviated much of her worries, especially the last. The antique dealer were one who had donated plenty of things to the museum, as well as assisted her and Luna in finding and restoring things from their time before Nightmare Moon, which brought her sister great comfort. She were also seen at many social gatherings, and were always a delight, whom she had shared tea with on several occasions. She believed to know the mare well by now, and believed that if she felt this comfortable around others, to the point of not bringing her bodyguard along, then it were safe to offer some trust to these new faces, from an old time. "Wauh, never seen anyone like you before. But hi! It's nice meeting ya, hehe." Wig Woggle would grin even wider, and raise a hoof up to give an enthusiastic wave. Not only were the ruling princess herself in her store today, but now so too were a bunch of golems, from a possibly forgotten time? Her little changeling cafe really had an exciting day. The sort that'd get the town talking she bet, and about other things than the usual murmuring. Sure it might seem in bad taste to open a place like this, here in a town that still very much remembered Chrysalis's attack, but come on... Get over it already! It was a while ago, and the old queen were not an issue anymore. Things moved on, and she didn't much care for pettiness and grudges. Those emotions sold poorly. "They were found during one of the digs I financed. It were quite the unusual situation, but as you see, they are quite polite, and at their full senses, so I offered to have them escorted here, and have been showing them around personally. As you so eloquently have put it your majesty, Equestria believes in peace through inclusion." "A sentiment that becomes more true by the day, and thankfully so. I commend you for taking this initiative, Scarcity. Though I always hope for kindness, not all take that initiative." "Think nothing of it. It is a delight to be helpful. Ah, and speaking of which, while I have you here: I am happy to tell you that I finally managed to find the exact kind of bed that Princess Luna had requested. It is being restored as we speak, and then transported here. Would you be so kind as to inform your dear sister, that she should have it within two weeks at most?" "I shall, thank you. It should give her more peaceful rest." "Always a pleasure,. your majesty. Might I ask though, what brings you here today? Showing the citizens that there is naught to fear?" "Yes. Though changelings have joined our nation well, and several hives are open of who they are, old fears remain. I hope that my presence will soothe talks in some fashion." "We'll see later, when I harvest the vats, but I'm hopeful. Looked real good when it all went down earlier. Say, you folks ever tried emotion tea? It's nutrient for changelings, but regular folks can drink it too. It's not dangerous or anything. If you wanna try, you can have a cup of emotion n the house. Just say what sort you'd like to feel, and I'll mix you up something." Of course, in its raw form, emotion jelly were inedible for ponies, with it tasting rather gross, but process it right, and it could be shared proper. Yes it were less filling than regular jelly, but that were an option too, though for changelings only. She were trying to run a business here, and it were important that she could serve her patrons what they needed, to keep it running around. That did usually not involve this, but today had included free sampling of tea, for those willing to try it, to prove it were fine, so it were just... Extending the deadline on that a bit. It'd look good for the princess, and maybe if she impressed her, the princess would return some other time. That'd be good for business.

Sorry for no posts yet. I managed to get a hand infection (I am really need to watch what I grab/step on xD) but it's toning down. I should have a fresh set of posts up tomorrow. Trying to write with one hand sucks. And apologies for not saying so before. I forgot, because I am 36, and my brain was bought on sale from an Aldi's clearance sale. @EQ_Theta @Catpone Cerberus @Ionic Sunset @Dah Onion Eater (new joiner, PM'ed me) Also, @Catpone Cerberus I don't have an idea per se really, no. So we can go with your insect, no problem. Should I just whip up another char to run into said cage, and we take it from there, whilst giving the kobolds a short reprieve?

@Illiad Easle (Null) "Good. It's better that they keep a better picture of them in their mind. It's easier to deal with." Memorials tended to bring memories of those buried to mind, and from experience, she could tell that it were harder when those included pictures of horrific ends. Often, it were best if you could remember better times. Being so used to having Nine in her head, she didn't even think of him at first, as he usually butted in when there were something related to him. But she'd get there, and since she were sure he'd check her memories regardless, when they reunited, she'd have a chat with him. Hopefully he wasn't getting into trouble currently. Though the thought didn't have long to settle in, before it went on to something else, that made her stop mid bite, and blush. She'd take the slice of unbitten pizza out, and answer him first, lest she'd stumble over her words by overthinking them too much. "W-Well..." Started of great already. "I don't know honestly. I mean, normally it's a house, work, and marriage, before things goes to that, but we're not exactly normal, are we? *sigh* I wish I did have answers, but I'm honestly winging it now, as I don't really know how it's gonna need to progress normally. My sister is going through the beginning steps, but I don't think asking her would work. She's just as inexperienced as me, but... My parents have had a long, happy life together. I'm not saying they'll decide for us, but perhaps we can ask for some pointers, and then we can talk about what we'll do. At worst, we'll have some time on the way home, to think on it, yeah? Whatever happens though, we'll make that decisions together." She'd smile warmly at him, then go back to eating her pizza, though her gaze remained on him. Might be she wasn't sure how things would go forward for them, but she knew she'd stick it out, and do whatever she could for them to find a way forward, together. ================================================================== (Ranger) "I know sacrifice is needed. Especially when the war began, but thew way you put it is... That's not sacrifice, it's murder. When the barbarians began encroaching on our forests, our villages fell fast. Kits and elder alike, slaughtered indiscriminately, by monsters and marauders. I was one of only three who made it out of my village, as we all fled for our central town. Only I made it all the way there... I've seen plenty that sacrificed themselves for others during that trip. From other villages, from my own... My mom died as she hurled me out of the window, before a bomb tore out house apart. I doubt my grandpa even had the time to realize what..." He shut his mouth, and closed his eyes, needing to get some unpleasant imagery out of his head, before he continued. His voice strained with pained emotions, as though he tried to speak with reason, and be jovial, this were a painful memory. one of many, that he usually did his to not dig into. Much else he could talk off casually, but to the kitsune, family was extremely important. They respected their ancestors, and took care of those near them, even in hard times. Seeing them die around him like they had, were something that were hard for him to go through again. "When we made it to Kai'haze, the elders knew there were no hope. The enemies used strange things to cut through our defenses and magic like it were nothing, and we were just getting slaughtered left and right. So they took the survivors into a large circle, and used the last of their strength to teleport us far, far away. Someplace they believed would be safe. If one of our high elders didn't get that arrow to his eye, who knew where we'd all have ended, but I guess it doesn't matter. What I'm trying to get at, is that throughout everything, whoever died for others to live, chose to do so. There's honor in that, and those of us that're left, will remember them as fondly as we can. But what you describe, where's your choice in that? You were made, and then told that all you were good for, were as spare parts. That's not a choice. That's indoctrination. They just went and make you feel like that's all you were there for. You have a life now, Ranger. You're starting to bloom, and being your own mare. If you were told right now, that Rainbow Dash needed your legs, would you just let that happen? You think your family would eagerly jump at that either? I'm not trying to tell you what to do here, Ranger. If you want to make that sacrifice, if the word came, that's your choice. But it should be an actual choice, and not just something you think you're obligated to do, because that's what some crazies told you." Might be he were sounding a bit high and mighty, but he just... What he heard were sickening, and Ranger's words, sounded like someone who were indoctrinated to believe it. like it were drilled into her head, every day, and considering this place, he wouldn't be surprised if that were literally true. These ponies should be thankful they were not kitsune... They'd never have gotten a good afterlife doing these things. More likely, they'd have been small, weak servants to the ancestors, or if the stories were true, would turn into Oni. Though only the elders knew where the Oni's came from, so that were just speculation. Kozue hadn't been willing to just give up looking, so he kept looking, and searching for small openings, where one might have hidden something, and he did manage to find it. Predatory vision really helped when looking around in dim light, he supposed, though it did also include luck. Either way, he'd pull something out, and hold it up. It looked like... Toys of some sort? They were reminiscent of stuff he had seen before, but primitive and simplistic. Perhaps even... Yes, this could perhaps be what she had hoped for. It for sure didn't look like something a sterile so called *doctor* would offer. "Hey, Ranger? I think I've found something." He'd wander over with the box, showing her the stuff inside. If this wasn't it, he were honestly not sure there were any hope, of finding something even remotely nice in this place. And quite frankly, if it wasn't because he felt a little sure that there'd be something weird released by doing so, he'd suggest torching the place to the ground. Sure it were important to remember your roots, but... Not this. ===================================================================== (Cherish) Crow would look towards Gemini, as she told of her name change. "Name change, so you have your pony mark now then, yes? I read about that." Wasn't the most interesting of things perhaps, but out here, beggars couldn't be choosers. If she found books, she'd read what she found. Even the cookbooks, and the Trojan ones did help her figure out some stuff about the local fauna, and what animals were edible. Sure it were written from the perspective of a pony, but it were still good advise, and she enjoyed reading about various creatures and plants. She found it very educational, even if she didn't understand the more high brow of the books she had on the subject. Cherish suggested that she should go and read things to help her understand them more int he library when she someday felt better about being in town, but that was a thought for much later. There were too many creatures in there, for her to trust that things would go okay. Though she were getting a bit of a better impression of them, via some like these young ponies, and the librarians, who were trading with her. She liked that part at least. Before she could continue, the flapping of heavy wings were heard, and both her and Cherish would look up, to see one of the local species come and land on a nearby, collapsed wall, that Crow hadn't pilfered for stones. The bird looked somewhat like the cute little ones they had seen in town, but despite you might being able to think that they were near the same, if you saw them fly from high above, being this close, the difference between the Ghost Vultures and the pygmy versions were notable. Mostly in the size and posture, as even before it folded its wings in, it looked intimidating, which were not helped by the look in its eyes. Steely, and gazing upon the unusual visitors like it eyed future meals. Not a sound escaped its sharp beak, but whereas the ones in town were cute and welcome companions, this were a wild predator. Sure as vultures, they did often feed on carcasses, but sometimes, you had to make your own carcasses, to feed. Be that a local dune hound, a traveler who looked half-dead already, or if an unfortunate pygmy variant somehow ended up in the desert, though that were incredibly rare. As were it for these to hunt in the common sense, but it all depended on the times. The war times, there were usually food enough, what with all the corpses laying around. As things slowed down, and the sands reclaimed more, food were sometimes a bit harder to find, and the bigger, meaner ones of their kin, would advance to hunt to stay the strongest, and be in a dominant position, come mating season. The healthiest and strongest looking, could often take their pick of males, and females of that sort, often would deny mating with males they considered beneath them. Which did also include that at times, potential mates had to battle for the right to breed with a dominant female, though it were rarely fatal. It left some battle scars here and there, and there were some that worried that it would change the vultures into hunters that over generations, would focus more on snatching them up, than to go for carcasses, but studied ones knew it were just a matter of nature adapting, and a matter of opportunistic hunters, that would take a carcass over struggling prey, if it were available. Barring their pygmy cousins, whom they had an irrational hatred for. The prevalent theory being that it stemmed from the same reason, that you couldn't tame these: They were proud animals. It were possible they saw these lesser versions, as an insult to their kin. "Hmph. Give me a moment." Crow would turn back into her home, then come back with a lump of dried meat, and toss it up to the bird, who caught it with its right front talons. It's start tearing up pieces to eat from there, with Cherish at least looking on confused. "She comes around sometimes. Knows I have hunted, and want a taste. I do not think she wants to be friends, but she is interesting to see. A pretty bird." One might argue that something the size of herself and looked like the messenger for death in the dunes, were not the prettiest, but she came from a place where birds like this would be seen as fitting, except for the colors. She would look at the unnamed bird a bit more, then turn to Elef. "Sorry, I forgot, you asked... We can scavenge, or hunt, yes. But ponies don't hunt much, right? So maybe we can scavenge? I know a place that were clearing yesterday. I was going to look at it later. Maybe we can go now then? It is not far. You are Cherish's friends, so I will keep you safe too. Try to not touch scorpions. They leave, if you do not touch them. Sting if you do, and you have skin. It will hurt you. The snakes are okay. But taste weird." There weren't a ton of them,, far as were known, but there were a species of snakes in the desert. Well camouflaged, they were around a meter in length, and the thickness of a broomstick, for the vast amount of adults, with a few rare ones getting at most double that size. Their color blended in perfectly with the sands though, and as ambush predators, you often wouldn't know you even ran into one, until you accidentally stepped on one, and heard it hiss, before it scurried off. They did not like dealing with creatures, that were not prey. Some had been caught in the past, but despite many attempts, not a single fertilized egg, had naturally occurred in captivity. Assumedly they had some specific criteria for how things should go, for them to mate and lay eggs, and being in any kind of cage, or observed environment, did not seem to work for them, So beyond maybe some persistent labs, there'd be nothing really known of their eggs or mating season. And it were unlikely one wanted to waste resources, as they were non-venomous, and a complete lack of a threat to regular beings. They were worthless for warfare or antitoxin creation. "Is there questions, before we go?" ========================================================= (Void) So this were what she had been offered to do then? This were the offer of Mercy? it seemed far less severe, than she had expected, considering what Null had told of what things were like with Vengeance. Though she supposed, it made some sense, considering what they each represented. Though frankly, she believed that she could not hold a candle to this llama. Sure she were kind to others, and opened her heart to for instance the young ponies, who needed a home, and someone to love them, but this llama seemed so pure in her intend and actions. Selena had found a truly good soul here, she would say, and it were hard for her not to sit and smile, as she heard her speak, and saw what gifts were bestowed upon her. Fitting tools, for someone such as her. Selena were quite the sight herself. Ethereal and intimidating in a way, as this reminded her of the deer of old, that Null and her had met. Not the looks, but some of the more tribal ones, had their leader dress in garments a little similar to this. Maybe it was a way to sort of denounce leadership, or a ritual thing? She weren't sure, but the pale imitation were nothing compared to this sight, which were rather glorious. It reminded her of the princesses of Equestria, when she had first met them. She doubted either of them would remember her anymore, but she at least, still had fond memories of them. A short, yet delightful time, before everything had gone to Tartarus. When all were over, and Selena had changed back, she assumed that she were to follow her, until the llama addressed her directly. It seemed rude to not respond, and honestly, llama were not exactly common sights for her, to put it mildly, so sure, she would engage in conversation, start with a warm smile on her face, as always. "I were meant to, but I found my calling with others. Still, Selena is a friend, and I think she wanted for me to see what the process is, in case I change my mind sometime. Oh, I didn't mean to be rude. My name's Void. It's nice to meet you, miss Illambda." She would bow before the llama, not sure if it were customary to do something else. This seemed safer than a hug though, as bows usually meant respect, in a general sense. ============================================================== (Grey) Yannit remained silent, but stopped drinking, and just looked at the stranger, with a wary look in her eyes. She had a response in mind - well, more like six, but one more prevalent were in mind - yet this weren't her show, lest she had to save things. So she would wait and see what Craven would do. For his side, he would be halfway through a sip, and would as such finish that first, then calmly put down his glass, and look towards their new *friend*. His gaze more neutral, as if he hadn't made up his mind about this one, which weren't wrong. Easy to fake the last bit, and then it was just about not seem nervous. And that were one of the first thing a scout learned, so that were at least nice and easy. "Can't speak for her, but I used to be from Fillydelhpia. Had a nice fabric shop and everything, but the war changed a lot of things." "Blacksmith, Devil's Creek." Devil's Creek were a dump of a town, from the former Equestria. Barely any permanent residents, but as one of those *Last stop for the next hundred miles* sort of towns, it got by. Trains and such made it a good deal less, until it became a bit of a smuggling route, to get contraband towards the southern Equestria region. Didn't last too many years, but that's what happens when you get too comfy, and run it int he open. They got more careful after that, and the residents that stuck around, while not thrilled this were how their town had gone, did know it was this, or the town going dead. So it became a bit of a *Caravan town*. You came there for some food or rest, or needed supplies before going on with your wares, that couldn't get on a train, or other methods. Sure there were guards there to check things, but long as they got their cut, they didn't much care, unless something really messed up got through, that they couldn't ignore. A sliver of morality left, kind of. When the war happened, it had been one of the places that survivors had passed through, trying to get away from the hordes. The town were completely annihilated, having no real defenses to work with, but everyone had left at that point too, along with the survivors. It wasn't a good place to try and find safety. Just somewhere to ransack for supplies, before moving on. "We just got here today. Thought there'd be some opportunities here." "I wanted to see the carousels." Yannit would shrug. Used to be a lot of those sorta things in Las Pegasus, but of course, things had changed, and likely wouldn't go back to that sorta thing for a long time. Being from an isolated place like Devil's Creek though, made some sense you'd hope to see that sorta thing one day. The town used to be a lot more colorful, than Devil's Creek could offer. "That too. Should've figured that stuff were all scrap. Looks like it's all just casinos now. What a joke it's turned into. That enough, preacher?" A flock were often a way to describe not just birds, but also a congregation, hence the comment about their new *friend* being one of those. Doubtful it were their target, and it were instead likely just a recruiter, looking for potential. Might not have sounded like they had the killer mercenary background, but this were a highly realistic way that things had gone, since the war. Those who survived, sometimes had to redefine what were morally okay, and looting, mercenary work, bowing your head and obey the hordes, theft, murder- The list were long, and especially for those who didn't have a shot at getting to survivor enclaves, the options were often to kill, or be killed. It either hardened you, or you died. Not much in between during the crisis.

((OOC http://mlpforums.com/topic/110032-casual-stroll-an-introductionary-roleplay-around-ponyville-open-for-all/#entry3092621)) The crisp morning air went through the town of Ponyville as the day began it's usual rhythm. Early rising ponys awakened and yawningly began on their day ahead of everypony else, preparing the shops and dutys that had to be done before the buzzing life began in the currently scarce town. The smell of baked goods and the far in between sound of hoofs slowly marching on the vacant ground began to mix in the air and give a sense of life awakening a little by little after yet another sleepy night passing by. For the inhabitants of the town it was a day like many others, but who was to say what the day would bring? Perhaps some things, or some ponys, would make this day stand out amongst the peaceful ones that had passed? Alas, the time was not for questions. The workers had their things to attend before the general populace would arise and little time to do it in, leaving the thought unsaid as they began their daily tasks and a low hum of activity started of the day.

Update: As of today, November 3'th 2020, this thread is still open for anypony. I'll try to edit in monthly about this, but my memory is bad, so just be assured that unless anything else is written, I'm never gonna bar or abandon this thread. For anypony looking: This thread is never getting closed for new joiners, veteran, regular or fresh faces alike. If you want in, there is room for your OC. There is also room for those wishing to play the cannon characters such as the mane six, the princesses and so forth. Claimed cannons are: Twilight Sparkle. Played by @EQ_Theta. Fluttershy. Played by @EQ_Theta. To gain exclusive control of a canon character, contact me about it, and we'll take it from there. Take notice: This isn't a thread focused around my pony, it's meant as a place where anypony can start off, or join in for some fun. Consider it a newcomers intro cauldron into roleplay, with added spice of whoever else wants to come around. With that being said, on to the writing. Further notice: Even if it seems like everypony here have their own and it's impossible to join anything, don't be discouraged to join. If you want to interact with the current groups going at their random thing, just write yourself in and we'll take it from there. If you want to start your own angle, begin something, and in case you haven't gotten a response in about 24 hours, I will then make an NPC or see if some of my OC's are free and make sure you're not alone. TImelines: In case you prefer an evening setting or want to write with somepony as in *The next day* It is allowed, though not further than a day ahead of everypony else. The timelines can fit easy into each other if it's in a span of 24 hours. Less easy when we talk weeks apart or something like that. The thread link: http://mlpforums.com/topic/110191-casual-stroll/ Hello everypony. Been about 4 days since I've joined the forums now and everything here have been good so far. Except that I can't find a good place to start some role play, as the existing ones seem to be focused on very out there ideas that I, as a new member, can't really just jump into since I haven't even gotten a feel for the roleplaying aspect of my character yet. It made me think though, with all the other new people I've seen join over the last few days, perhaps I'm not the only one who could use a place to quietly ease into this? As such, I present an idear here that I hope that somepony - newcomers or not - would also think could be a good thing to join in on. A simple, no-focused thread going on around/in Ponyville that can let everypony have their say in things. There will be no directions for this, just a begining, and then we'll see where the plot will takes us. If you would like to join this, and/or if you might have an idear added, then go ahead and post it. After a few days I'll see if there's enough here to start something, and then make an open thread in the actual roleplay section if there's enough interest. My character Blitz Boom is living in the Everfree Forest, but she makes trips to Ponyville once in awhile, so any place around the town is basically a good place to start. As for rules, I only have a few. No graphic murder/overly strong violence: A fight or something may be fine enough, and a death can be acceptable if done right, but there's no need to make a casual thread into Friday the 13'th. No rushing/godmodding: No-one finds it fun when somepony just takes off with things without their consent. Give people a bit of time to breathe in between posts, and don't have them be dragged off by force unless it's been cleared with the person here in there OOC section. If you stop in the thread, let us know here, and write your character out in the IC part: I can't imagine anypony else wanting to wait around for someone that just upped and left without a word, so be respectful of others if you leave, okay? I can write you out in a small section if you have trouble doing so yourself, but a self-addressed solution is preferred. That's pretty much it. The rest is covered by the roleplaying rules (such as no explicit things etc) and other than that, I'd like to think I can trust you all to make the right decisions. Alicorns etc. is allowed, and everypony can decide for themselves afterwards if they want to take some of this as canon, but in case of alicorn join ups, consider it non-canon in general. ^^ If there's any questions or anything, feel free to pop it into this thread. I'll be checking with regularity. ((If you need some info on Blitz Boom, there is a link to her bios in my signature))
