"the faster being" suggests new possibilities of Dashie's potential competition. Maybe Dashie is the fastest pony, but there are dragons and griffons that are faster?

The difference to me is like:

Who is the fastest human on earth?

&

What is the fastest creature on earth?

Honestly I think it would be a little odd if Apple Bloom was really older than Apple Fritter, but I feel nothing wrong about it.

What upsets me more is to think Writers/animators treat Apple Fritter so lightly like she's just something to fill space with and any random background pony can use her exact design...

So I choose to believe that it is true. 

According to Sweet and Elite, when Fancy Pants asked Rarity why she thought Fleetfoot would win the Wonderbolts Derby,

Rarity said: "My friend Rainbow Dash talks about her all the time. She says what Fleetfoot lacks in size, she makes up for in speed.

And given Spitfire and Fleetfoot thinks that Dashie is a better flier than Soaring (but you can argue being better doesn't necessarily mean faster).

So I guess:

Fleetfoot > Spitfire > Rainbow Dash > Soaring

But of course there are still dragons (Dashie thinks they're so slow  ), griffons and whatnot that we don't know how fast they can fly. 

Since we're talking about fastest being but not just fliers, don't forget Pinkie

I always imagine how different my life would be if I ever met someone like Pinkie.

Even though everypony thinks it's better just leave Cranky Doodle Donkey alone, Pinkie still wants to try to make him smile and make friends with him.

I for one who has few friends, would be grateful to anyone for trying a little harder to befriend me (though I know it's mostly my fault that I don't have many friends).

My reason being that it's an oversight is this. Do the animators care about the designs of a pony who's only sole purpose is to be in the background? Probably not. Because of that, they might've designed a foal Apple Fritter just to fill in more space. It's not like she's a side character.

 

I do know that I have younger relatives who are taller than the older ones, but for the longest time, Apple Fritter has the body of a mare, and mares obviously are older than fillies like Apple Bloom. If the animators did care about this, then they might've given Apple Fritter the body of a filly Fluttershy instead.

 

But of course, this is what I think. You don't need to agree with me.

I guess they putting a baby on family photo was to make Apple Family look more lively, and/or to show the relationship between the baby and her parents .

If I draw the animation for MLP (based on my experience in anime), I wouldn't bother to create a new design just for a photo. That being said, design a pony should be easier than design a character in anime, and they probably work harder than me lol.

You just noticed when you posted that in my thread of CMC growing up?  . Anyway, like Odyssey stated, it must be an oversight, it's impossible for Fritter to be younger (specially THAT younger) than AB when she always shows up as a grown mare.

It wouldn't be THAT younger. if the old family photo was taken 10 years ago (last family reunion was 100 moons ago + only 3 family photos showed in Granny Smith's album, so it's possible even it seems too long. And I believe they have some casual reunions too),  A.B was probably about 2 years old, that makes her only 1 year older than A.F.

Technically a pony older than 1 year old is no longer a foal, so it makes sense they used a filly version of A.B when she was 2 years old...

What if they planned an episode in season 5 focusing on Apple Bloom and Apple Fritter?

like:

A.B envies A.F outgrows her, so she decides to make a potion that helps pony grow faster...

or,

A.F tells A.B a story about how she went through that "puberty" thingy and then A.B realizes she has to be patient...

Moral of the story: well, you probably can see it...

They're just examples, sure they can write a good story for this.

Apple Fritter has a mare's body. Apple Bloom has a filly's body. So AB is younger. Theory dismissed.

 

As for the baby in the first picture, who knows what that is.

It's like saying I'm taller than you so I must be older than you.

Edit: After thinking for a bit, I remembered that Apple Fritter appeared in the first episode of the show. In that episode, the apple family reunion took place. That was when the old picture was taken (I think?). The only thing I can think of is that Apple Fritter has magical baby transforming powers. Seriously though, I am very confused. :3

I don't think that was an official reunion. At least it wasn't the time when the old picture was taken because there were much more ponies than the picture showed.

I think it's just another baby that looks similar to Apple Fritter. Green manes seem to be a common trait in the Apple family.

 

 

Hardly conclusive. Although I'm sure the whole family is invited to every reunion, there are probably often times when a few individuals are busy and cannot make it. That filly may have just been unable to attend the reunion in the second picture. (Or perhaps she was there, but was sleepy and having a nap at the time the photo was taken?)

A.F has bi color mane, so if animators just want a baby I doubt they would use her design.

And "underaged" lol, we aren't even sure how old are mane six, it's possible mane six are under 18 too.

I just think that it's an oversight by the animators. It really isn't all that special.

Hard to imagine it's an oversight, why would they bother to design a foal version of Apple Fritter? I mean younger A.J looks almost no different, if A.F was close to A.J's age, they did't have to design another version of A.F.

I agree it's not special, you younger relatives can be taller or looking older than you. But if it's true, it indicates that ponies have some kind of puberty as well and CMC haven't reached it yet(assuming that's the reason Apple Fritter outgrown Apple Bloom ).

Who was the foal?!!!!Her colour, her mane, obviously she was Apple Fritter.

First I thought she could be just a random background pony somehow shared the exact design with Apple Fritter, and Apple Fritter wasn't there for some reason.

But then I took a look at the new family photo

 

 

There's no filly looks like that foal!!

The most logical conclusion : Apple Bloom is older than Apple Fritter!

Mind blown!!!!!!!

Well, Scootaloo is a filly. And it's already canon that she can't fly and will never fly (sure, not directly but when Scootaloo speaks to Rainbow Dash about her wings, it's meant to be a soft way to reveal that she's disabled).

I don't think they have any. Lauren Faust didn't want so many Alicorns, even Cadance wasn't an Alicorn in her original idea. Too many Princesses could be a problem.

Though Manehattan will have one if Rarity ever became an Alicorn. (Dashie - Cloudsdale, etc.)

There are a lot of tropes in Mlp that are similar with anime. Personally I see a lot of parallels between Mlp and Higurashi.

I see Sakura Trick has much more similarities with MLP. Six girls vs Mane six and what have you, and they're both yuri...

Their names are Pixel Pizzazz and Violet Blurr. They are my favorite girls in EQG!! I'd love to see them in season 5 as ponies. Since they are with Photo Finish, they wouldn't be really bad, maybe Trixie bad, tops. But I doubt it would happen...

Normal bodies of organisms are not designed to be able to handle a sudden change or stop in direction like that.

The change was 90-ish degree in direction, so I wouldn't say it's illogical.

Rapid directional change is easy for many flying animals and sea creatures (e.g. fruit fly). If they have developed a mechanism for directional change in high speed, their body should be capable to handle. Because they need to do that to escape from predators.

When Dashie flies, she forms a sharp edge by her hooves. This and her long tail (And of course her wings) allow she to vigorously re-direct the flow of the air passing over the rear of her body so she can change direction very quickly .

What I think the relatively illogical thing is the power of sonic rainboom (the distance that a shock wave can travel & breaking a huge stone)

It's called a sonic rainboom but all we can see is that Dashie produces a Prandtl-Glauert condensation cloud of rainbow

Maude: I think well for Maude is one of the best,  yes she was only in one ep but it shows

she loves and expects Pinkie Pie for fully who she is and the choice she made in her life's path

Exactly. Her love was shown in subtle yet selfless ways. I recall what Twi said,

It says a lot.

That's why I want to have a big sister like Maud in real life.

She accepts who you are. She wouldn't stand between you and your friends. She wouldn't force you to do anything or bother you so much. She's not overprotective, but if you were ever in trouble, she would come help at once.
