One clever, subtle piece of detail regarding Princess Pipp:

The Mean 6 is one of the best episodes of the entire show, yet it feels really underrated because some bronies really disliked how Vogel wrote the conflict.

Season 9 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic continues to not be on Netflix, over a year later...

Look, there's a part of me that would rather pretend the show ended after season 8, but on the other hand there are several season 9 episodes that I would like to rewatch without pirating them. 

She's All Yak is a very underrated episode. Yona felt like she had to act more like a pony rather than her own species to fit right in, and her teachers (including Rarity, who initially wanted her to stand out) helped her without knowing that getting her to assimilate would only risk major problems. During the most humiliating night of her life, Sandbar did his most noble deed as a character all series: support her and remind her that she's best by being herself.

The School of Friendship may have been an awkward idea but I liked it a lot because

1. It was a much-needed change of pace for a show which I felt was stagnating and running out of ideas for its main characters. 
2. It seemed like a natural evolution of the main-six-as-teachers trend in the show, and introduced a bit more failure and uncertainty to those stories. 
3. It let Twilight work as part of an educational institution, which I had always felt was the perfect line of work for her.
4. It served as a symbol of acceptance and let the mane six stand against xenophobia, which was a positive development in the show's depiction of non-pony species. 
5. It gave Starlight a clearer purpose in the show, which was especially nice because I felt that season was a major improvement for her characterization. 
6. The main student characters are cute.

Applejack's "Day" Off is the most boring, plain episode of the whole show. No plot, no true character moments, no humor (other than Rarity's wrinkly face in the open, which is more fun reminding bronies of it than when watching it happen ). But other than AJ being completely dumb in the climax, it was inoffensive.

Rewatched Perfect Pear through Applegeek’s reaction. Just as I expected. Still the best episode in MLP history. It’s gonna take a lot for Pony Life or G5 to top it.

“Crossing the Line” from Rapunzel’s Tangled Adventure is up there with the best TV villain songs of all time.

Pinkie Pie has a sneaking suspicion that she might be a cartoon character, but she doesn’t know for sure. 

As a person who would rank The Last Jedi as possibly the best Star Wars movie, I cannot fathom how The Rise of Skywalker is something anyone wanted. Some nice jokes and action sequences though.

wait what do you mean there's a new My Little Pony show with the Friendship is Magic characters, I thought I was free

Too many good shows wished to have a finale that was equally good and satisfying. Fortunately, FIM is one such show to end it on a high note.

China is an oppressive, authoritarian government whose Communist Party has had a history of clamping down on any sense of free will, whether it's Zedong committing massive genocide on its own people during his reign, the terror attack against pro-democracy protestors at Tiananmen Square, its oppressive treatment of Tibetans and Dalai Llama, and its bullying of Taiwan. Right now, they're committing genocide against Chinese Uyghur Muslims by sending them to massive concentration camps and forcing them to either renounce Islam or be killed. China's government is disgusting.

Their response to the anti-mainland protestors from Hong Kong and dictatorial treatment of corporations when these corporations have a relationship with China are an extension of such cowardice. The right to freedom of speech and self-autonomy are essential to the growth of a healthy country and oneself. Rocket GM Daryl Morey shouldn't have had to bow down to Chinese Communist Party and NBA-brass pressure, and the same goes for the treatment of Blitzchung by Blizzard. Anyone who thinks any of this is okay shows serious lack of ethics.

Some episodes of this show are synonymous with “greatness.” Episodes like Lost Mark, Amending Fences, Shadow Play, Pinkie Pride, Perfect Pear, and Sparkle’s Seven are pure greatness.

Perfect Pear, though, isn’t just the epitome of Pony greatness. It’s museum-worthy. A flawless masterpiece belonging to a cartoon Hall of Fame. Story is engaging, entertaining, funny, and gut-wrenching. Pacing is among the best. You’re in My Head Like a Catchy Song is debatably the best song of the show with its emotional lyrics and heart. Buttercup and Bright Mac are a very plausible couple with their quips, chemistry, and trials. Grand Pear is the most tragic character of the show, and how they forgave him perfectly relayed its central moral of being able to grieve and heal over a mistake you can’t repair. The ending with the intertwining tree is pure warmth and feels.

For several months, The Last Crusade was the best episode of S9 by the skin of its teeth over Sparkle’s Seven. Today’s episode dethrones it!

I feel like I should reiterate that my interest in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic does not transfer over to other generations of My Little Pony. Not even G5, and certainly not if the current creative team transfers over.
