gaming Mass Effect question. [Potential spoilers]
Starbrose replied to I_wesley125's topic in Media Discussion
Yup, but like I said in my previous post, these developments that Cerberus was 100% evil only happened in ME3. In ME2 it was obvious we were meant to interpret that Cerberus was morally in the grey. -

I actually didn't like how Mass Effect handled TIM. In Mass Effect 2 TIM was morally ambiguous. Cerberus was prejudiced and ruthless in their techniques yes, but the overall effort to stop the attacks on human colonies and stop the reapers was in the right place. Where the Alliance turned their back on humanity and Shepard, Cerberus didn't. It was almost played in ME2 that Cerberus wasn't all bad. In Mass Effect 3 TIM and Cerberus was pigeon-holed into being completely evil. Regardless if your Shep was Paragon/Renegade, he'd disagree with Cerberus and TIM. In Mass Effect 2, your Shepard could agree with Cerberus philosophy if you wanted a Renegade character. They then discarded this completely for the third, your Shep had to be 100% for the Alliance and anti-Cerberus. At times I did agree with TIM. This wasn't a time for politics or idealism. Cerberus was willing to do whatever it took to stop the reapers. They would invest everything into Shepard because they knew how much of an asset he was.On the other hand the Alliance was caught up in race politics half the time. Unfortunately Cerberus strayed off path, TIM became too obsessed with power and ended up indoctrinated. But he was one of the best characters in the series, for sure. -

Pixar movies and Disney classics rank high on the list for sure. I'd also like to add... American Beauty (I know, pretentious, but I loved it) Avatar (Not really for it's quality, but I feel like it will be the 'Titanic' of my generation) The Matrix Donnie Darko Blade Runner Black Swan Into the Wild

Yes A Bug's Life is both Disney and Pixar, before the two separated as studios.

It really sucks that you're almost forced into making such decisions while you're still just a teenager. Do you really know what you want for the rest of your life at that age? No. Then society wonders why so many people end up in mid-life crises and depression and are unhappy with their careers and filled with regret etc. You almost need to know where you're going with post-secondary education right from the get-go in High School, so you can take appropriate courses that will meet prerequisites and all that junk. The system is flawed!

Hercules is one of my favourites too! I always thought it was a really underrated Disney flick. I think it gets the same treatment as Tarzan. Both are often dismissed, I think because they came out in the much later 90s. Maybe people don't perceive them as classic or nostalgic as some of the others.

mega thread What is your sexuality ?
Starbrose replied to DashingRainbow36's topic in General Discussion
The percentages seem pretty accurate to the real world. I mean apparently one in ten are gay. I bet as the decades go on more and more of the populous will be bisexual as it becomes less stigmatized. A lot of research does point to the fact that no one is 100% heterosexual or homosexual and that sexuality is fluid and changes all the time. -
movies/tv TMNT reboot directed by Michael Bay
Starbrose replied to RippedOffMattress's topic in Media Discussion
Michael Bay is like the epitome of what everyone hates about Hollywood.. Style over substance and can't keep his paws off of beloved franchises. I'll withhold further judgment because you never know. I did enjoy the first Transformers he was behind. Although I can't believe he thought making the turtles into aliens was a good idea? And changing the character backstories? He's already slapping the fandom across the face, I can't imagine he's aiming to please them from the looks of things. Not off to a good start... -

Anti-jokes, anyone? What did the boy with no arms and no legs get for Christmas? Cancer. A man walked into a bar...... he is an alcoholic and is ruining his family. Why did Suzie fall off the swing? She had no arms. What's worse than finding a worm in your apple? The Holocaust.

I like A Bug's Life but I recently watched it (first time as a teenager) and realized IMO... Antz >>>

Seriously? Michael Bay needs to stay away from Horror prodigies. Poor Halloween getting driven into the ground, Rob Zombie just finished setting fire to it. Forgive me if I'm wrong but wasn't the original Halloween praised for it's masterful build of suspense? Rob Zombie just turned it into a clusterbomb of violence and what I'm expecting from Michael Bay.... lots of chase scenes and a really kick ass heroine. Megan Fox co-starring. [REC] is creepier/scarier but I actually prefer Quarantine. But don't mind me, I'm just in love with Jennifer Carpenter and her performance..Finally someone has a nervous break down in a horror movie! You'd think being in such circumstances it would happen more often.

A question for the gentlemen of the forums
Starbrose replied to Shankveld's topic in General Discussion
I think boys (and girls) today are mentally "growing up" a lot faster than most of our generations did. I think the largest factors that plays into this is family, peers and social media you're exposed to, not biological factors. We all know today what's being aired on TV and played over the radio. Music videos played on MTV edge on pornographic content. Give a kid an Xbox and Grand Theft Auto and they can pick up hookers and gain health from having sex with them. Even if parents can shelter their kids from hearing/seeing this content then they will be exposed to it anyway at school from their peers. When I was a kid in middle school, those types of feelings were embarrassing. Today, wanting to have sex is glorified and cool. I think I had my first serious crush around 12-13 and I don't even think it was sexual at the time. Today I wouldn't be surprised if a 7 year old wants to stick their tongue down someone's throat.
