It's all a matter of perspective really.. Some people believe in their religions so strongly that any defiance is "wrong" or they fear that society won't accept them..

 

Though it's impossible to really tell how people feel and think. Everyone has their own motives for doing anything. I'm unsure if Frostie's parents are doing it in fear that their child won't be accepted by society or God, or if they're just being blind and misunderstanding..

 

The more someone is forced to do something, the more defiant they become.. I'm glad that you're at least doing better than you were a few months ago, you have the freedom to make your own decisions..

I can't say that it's the right thing to not go to church, as an open minded person myself, I don't limit or follow any particular religion myself..

 

I don't deny the existence of God, nor do I force myself to believe it as truth..

 

That is how I've always been and if God does exist, I'm sure he wouldn't want me to change who I am if I'm happy and still bring joy to the lives of others.. He would not have given us free will if not too make our own decisions in life..

 

In your case, church is a place of worship, I'm pretty sure not going to church isn't a sin. Even though the whole "Man and woman only" thing kinda does :/

 

You shouldn't let that bother you though, if religion makes your parents happy that's fine for them, but if a religion makes you unhappy, then by all means leave.

 

This life we are given is a gift, spending it in misery through religion only to be promised a peaceful afterlife is still wasteful..

Being happy and caring for those still here is more precious and is worth more than any afterlife can promise..

Pretty good for a first try My first attempt was a little.. Out of whack too, as i was just trying
to draw from the general look without studying into their actual shape and design

The point when i really started getting good was when I read a book that I bought and love ^-^ "The art of Equestria"

 
I highly recommend it, it's a great read, a look into the original concept art and designs for the characters..
(Princess Celestia was originally going to be called "Queen Majesty" LOL )
 
This page in particular helped me realize how to draw them as it was simplified yet detailed on how you draw them ^-^ Or the mares and general shape at least (Couldn't find a better picture than this one on Youtube..)

Songs can be great for sadness or depression.. Or even expression in general.. ^-^
One song that I remember and changed my outlook when i was feeling REALLY depressed was Basshunter's "I can walk on water", I really liked it, and the lyrics helped me to have a better outlook and gain self-confidense.. I'd even go so far as to say it saved my life because in those dark times.. I was really feeling the urge to do something stupid..
 

 
But yeah.. In those times i was sad, lonely and depressed and the lyrics really helped me to gain confidence and have a better look on life

Unicorns and Pegasi would have a very distinct advantage.. Pegasi being able to fly and control the weather..
While us Unicorns can use magic as an offensive, defensive or utilizing tool in and out of combat..
