I'm very new to this site and am in the process of creating my OC page.  That said, since I don't want to miss out in the interim, I'm using my character Script Dangles and am planning on courting Miss Cheerilee (assuming she's not already spoken for).

 

If I've done anything wrong here, please feel free to delete this post / ignore me.  Like I said, I'm new.  

Yo dawg, dig the first post. One teeny thing I need you to do though: Interact with your date. Just, kinda post how you're gunna meet her. That way, we have a way to respond to you. However... everything else is exactly what we're going for.

Well, you were eventually going to find out that Octi didn't actually have a ton of money. About enough to pay for her home (split with Vinyl) and to live reasonably comfy. Musicians don't make much, with few exceptions.

Does this mean that basically everything's reset? I know you said you would not answer "who's available" anymore but is it basically anypony as of now? 

In my head, this is really just a transition to the new page. I have all the replies saved on a g-doc waiting to be replied to when I finally get this refiling sorted out. But if you would like to start over then that is indeed the answer.

Well, you sign up. Then, after a short approval process, you ask a pony out on a date. The mods (Comet and I) will reply to your post and, f things go well, you date. ^.^

Ladies and Gentlecolts! Welcome to the newest form of the Ask Anypony On a Date RP. This is one of your friendly mods, Dawnpath (Octavia's Bow), here to lay down some brick work for you to get started.

First off, this is not a traditional RP. In this RP, you will be applying as (non-cannon) character to date a cannon one. I, along with my co-mod Comet Tail, will formulate our responses based on the personality off the pony your chasing, and the context. 

Now, for teh rulez!
 

1) You must be using an original character. Please don't show up as Button Mash or Trixie. 

     1a) Your personal OC/ponysona is welcome and prefered. We'd like you to have a bit of an emotional stake in this.

2) Be mindful of your English. I have been lax on this in the past, but from here on out I will be expecting a certain level of literal integrity. It won't be overly high, and I'm not about to kick someone from the rp because they accidentally submitted aorry (sorry) or put a comma in place of a period or something. But if I cannot read your post, or I have to guess what you mean about something, we are going to have a chat about it. And if it continues...

... you're not gunna have a good time.

3) The ability to fail is very real.

4) Competition is a very real thing and will now be implemented. As such, I will no longer respond to questions of 'who's free'. However, if over the course of your time here you end up with someone who was not the entity you were originally going for, than that's that. THAT SAID, if a relationship is very much so established, I WILL MARK IT ON THE FRONT PAGE. Note that long periods of inactivity from a user will reset that.

5)I need your OC page to figure out the limitations of your character. And because it's a forums rule. But for the purposes of the roleplay, I will take it as you personally talking to whomever. I will treat it that way. As a former ask-er, I would say it garners the best response for you to also ACT that way. Dawny's tip of the trade.

6) All ponies in this roleplay will be the age of consent. This is my decision. The reason for this: this page is a dating RP, not a life sim or a playground sim. While it can be argued that people date in primary school, they aren't the relationships I'm looking for. Also, it makes us as mods uncomfortable. So, instead we will age the under-aged ponies up. I'm sorry if this angers you.

1) I need an OC Form, in the style of this website. If you don't know how to do that, I will gladly find you a link to the Character Page Creator and help you.

2) I will need it stated here, in this OOC, which pony you would like to date.

Alright, I've made a decision.

Based on my continued frustration with the registration process, and my current inability to do anything about it, we will be moving to a page that I make, so that the first post people see is a first post from me. I.E. The rules will reflect mine and Comet's limitations and expectations. SO: I anticipate this will hold me back maybe a week.Maybe a week in a half. If you want to continue in the new page, then we will continue right where you left off. I will need your infos again though.

For those of you just joining, listen up: You WILL be reposting your information, no holds barred. The reason for this being that most of it is incomplete. Following the process is important because it makes things absolutely clear to everyone and, most importantly me.

A FURTHER CHANGE THAT WILL BE (RE)IMPLEMENTED IS AN ABILITY TO FAIL AND COMPETITION. 

     From now on, I will not tell you who's taken. You will be trying to get the attention and affection of 1 (one, uno, singular) mare from the git-go. If you stick with them, fine. If not, also fine. But I want people to try to take this as something they want to do. And we just don't get that when you're going for you 5th string waifu with a perspective that isn't you.

     I will strongly encourage you using your ponysona and doing what you think you would do. However, that may not be possible for everyone, so just know that, if I suspect you are being less-than-genuine, then it will affect your date. This also used to be a mechanic, but since I really hate breaking people's relationships and expectations, it was left in the dust. I view this as a mistake.

     Further rules and changes will be on the OOC that will come first and be linked here later. I understand if you don't follow us to the new page. I'm sorry this has been sprung on all of you suddenly. But I feel that this will make the whole process much, much better. Ladies and gentlecolts, I'll be seeing you soon. (Hopefully)

I have a test this week and next, am behind in my readings, and am getting a little bit rolled over by life. It's gunna be a bit before replies are in. Also, I have to talk to some people about what's goin' down, so that will take some time. I'm... pretty exhausted right now. That's not good because too many people around me are sick. But, here we go.

And in the next RP, it is confirmed that Hypno indeed burned the house down. Such is the way of a Hypno statement: All is either committed to or forgotten. Unfortunately, the records of these stories were lost for all time, and nobody has ever found them again. Thus, the story remains closed. Eternally. For all time.

For those of you who don't know, the Mane Six (People behind Fighting is Magic prior to Hasbro's C&D) got together with Lauren Faust to make a spiritual successor. The new game features 6-7 playable characters, a story, a interactive lobby, and much more that's all on their inddiegogo. Age of consent in the US is 16-18 depending on the state. Assume that.

And here's what I was getting at in my earlier statement.

 

I am willing to create an OC that is roughly the same age as the CMC, so "I" could date them at their current "canon" age.

What do you estimate their cannon age to be?

I keep up to date on the show, and my DMing reflects that.

I would PREFER people use themselves as a template, because then they have a pretty good idea of how they would actually act, rather than an unrealistic view on how someone else would act. (See: False bravado, OP spells, or the I-Always-Get-it-Right complex. JK, they don't exist.) But I haven't said or done anything in the past to hurt the use of these things or reflect my annoyance at them. In fact, I've done nothing in terms of punishment of any sort, even when I am 95% sure a pony is not being genuine. So, logistically speaking, I don't care who you are.

I am willing to do just about anything with anyone that is legal. I've created alternate universes for two people to date the same pony with no conflict. I've had ponies in conflict. I've reverted back in time. I would be willing to do a same sex relationship. I would also be willing to let you date any version of the CMC that you'd like, provided that it's a good 10 years in the future. It's really up to you at this point. Balls in your court: fill out an aplication mate.
