Personally what I find is that everyone look on "What's is a Brony" Just like religion. People have a different idea on what being a Brony or part of a religion should be.

I say it's anyone who watches and likes the show. And is willing to classify themselves as a "Brony" as I know some people don't like the stigma that comes with it. Which I understand (You don't have to be called a Brony if you like the show. Remember that!)

The only type of Brony. That I do not consider a Brony regardless of what they say. Is those who do not like the show and just like to be a part of the fandom.

I have nothing against these people. They do them. It doesn't really affect me so it's not a big issue.

I just think some. Yes some not all. Some minority of them just want to be a part of it. So they can feel that there apart of something bigger.

But I only consider people a part of a fandom. When they at least like the source material to some at least small degree.

But who cares what I think anyway. This topic is completely subjective and opinion based. And these are my thoughts. If you are a Brony just because you like the fandom. Don't let me change your mind otherwise. You do you.

The fact that you're happy is all that matters nothing else.

So yeah that is my opinion. On what is a Brony.

Monday (7:00 pm)

Gem after just getting back from his lessons with the local witch doctor.  He quickly rushed to study. He tried to create a compound that had it's name scribble out.....Having the most important compound rubbed out.....He ended up blowing up half his apartment. Suddenly his vision went blurry expecting it to come back. 

He wasn't worrying. But eventually it went completely white.

"What?.............W-w.....Do I still feel my body. I'm I having a out of body experience." Gem looked around he could hear others asking similar question but couldn't see them "What has happened to me.....N-n...........I can't die now........................If you think your taking my body to the dead.................YOU WILL BE MISTAKEN!!!!!!!!!!!" he proceeds to pull out a knife he made that had a basic fire bullet spell attached to it.

And proceeds to get ready to fight.

(This plot is just a misunderstanding......I know about the revival thing.......But my character is quick to presume things)

Personal Sanctification

When I was young. I had many mental and health issues.

As such I would shut myself from the world and refuse to learn about.

As I got older. I figured out how this was affecting my life.

To get myself out of the hole. I was in I had to force myself to mature at the young age of 11.

I'm 14 now. And could possibly be the most logically thinking boy in my class.

And all because this need. And want to get myself out of the hole. I had fallen into.

And to do that I was forced to learn from others very quickly. 

Which eventually open my mind. To many people of different cultures and colors.

And helped me reach personal sanctification.

Any fandom that grows in popularity will definitely show these problems.

 

Forgive me for generalizing and if this doesn't apply to whoever read this, I personally believe you should feel proud.

 

Teenagers are prone to being the worst people.

 

Teens lack the mental skills to make intelligent, rational choices. That part of the brain isn't 100% developed until you're like 20-ish.

Give a teen who's already prone to aggression, maybe feeling awkward and out of place, suffering from so much whiny tween angst towards life and access to the anonymous internet, and you've got a recipe for vile toxicity.

 

And popular fandoms are, obviously, big. They have a lot of members.

Popular fandoms also tend to be popular because it's the fad. MLP is a currently a fad and won't leave that status for a while. Steven Universe is also currently a fad.

It's the cool thing right now.

 

Determining if something leaves the fad status is only once show content declines. If fan activity dies with it (or just dies in general), it dies a fad. If fan activity remains constant, despite show content going down, it wasn't just a fad.

 

Example: Earthbound. One U.S. game and two (for a long time) Japanese games that required a lot of patience to acquire.

The fandom of Earthbound was small. It wasn't crazy popular. It had a group of dedicated fans in a content-less environment.

 

Point being, you wouldn't find this hatred in the Earthbound community because most people who knew about the game were young adults when the internet was widespread and young people coming in from Smash Bros saw that there wasn't much. They were appreciative of how much they got from so little. An actual sense of community. A tween who was hell bent on trolling would find a fandom so passionate about their so little content, that you'd pretty much quickly and easily isolate and exile yourself as an already small fandom isnt likely to have as many trolls.

 

Back to MLP.

A. It's huge. Naturally in all that mass, it'll have some bad eggs and easy to join other trolls in an already massive fandom.

B.Constant content = spoiled attitudes.

C. Teens tend to not think rationally and "hey, Filthy Frank makes me laugh by joking about suicide and calling everyone f@gs. I, too, shall mimic his behavior because that's what we teens seem to do. We see popular people dress, talk, and act certain ways and we just seem to copy that". Seriously. Go on instagram and look up hastags like #mlp and you'll find so many troll accounts that joke about suicide, 9/11, "dank memes", and all sorts of other attention-begging BS that I highly doubt a 25 year old who's got their life together would create. Teenage trolls seem to subconsciously compete with one another to see who can outdo who.

 

Overall, popular fandoms will always have their trolls on the internet. It doesn't matter if you're a brony or a whovian. Love and tolerate is a myth. We're no worse nor better than any other fandom. Raising awareness won't do much. As a community we just need to ignore the trolls. Block them and encourage others to shut as many doors on them as possible. There are cyber bullying resources. Use them. Take advantage of every resource but never engage.

If you're a teenager and none of this applies to you, good job. You're already acting like an adult and your transition from adolescents to adulthood will go much easier than the trolls that will someday regret their actions.

I'm a teenager and I agree with this post. 

Most kids my age don't think logically. Half the time.

This is due to the exact reasons. You gave. The only reason I'm not going to rant in rage with what you said about teenagers.

Was I was forced to think this way. If I was still 11 I would not respond the same way.

But after going through some very personal issues due to my Autism and ADHD. (Let's just say I had some serious issues)

I eventually found peace. But I had to learn the world around me to do it.

I had to force myself to learn to think logically so I could get myself out of the hole.

I got myself into. Health wise (my bowel) and Emotionally (my perception of the world and people).

And as I didn't believe in god (and still don't) I couldn't just pray. I had to fight through my issues.

I was bullied a lot when I was young and even through back then it used to get to me.

Now it's like a pillow. Soft and just annoying more than anything.

I found acceptance in myself as a person and I encourage others to do the same.

(I kind of share the same opinion as pollo20x6 so that's what I think on the question you asked lord. Just thought I would tell my story in case someone who may need it is reading.)

Lore for Gem.

While studying Weapon Enchantment. Gem finds ancient combinations and compounds for spells. These combinations and compounds haven't be formed correctly ever as far as knowledge goes. 

Many nowadays think these combinations and compounds and the powerful spells they give are impossible and just made up.

But sparked with curiosity. Gem proceeds to create these compounds and get ready to chant the necessary words. But nothing happened.

Suddenly his hooves started to glow. He touch the roosting hot compounds which surprisingly didn't hurt.

The compounds began to let out smoke depending on what color they were.

His cutie mark started to shine and the smoke cleared leaving a note on the table. he quickly picked up this note "Chosen one. We have planned your arrival with these spells from the beginning. You've got a long road ahead of you. But don't be afraid your light and your power to use elements to your advantage will get you past even the most magical beings."

He is right now studying up on the combination part of the book and can be found at his apartment in Canterlot.

(6pm onward Monday - Friday 12pm onward  Saturday - Sunday )

Or at his school (CCOM) The best school for weapon designing and development in particular.

Hi My name is Carrick Reynolds.

I do a bit of photoshopping from time to time and want to hone my skills.

So I'm going to be photoshopping Banners,Avaters,Icons for applications,Signatures among other things.

I'll do anything as long as you follow the rules.

Rules:

I cannot make anything that would not be appropriate for the site

(So Anything PG15 at oldest and even then I would rather things be nowhere near over PG13)

Critique is very much wanted if your not happy with the result. Please tell me it's a massive help.

What I do is mostly game and news commentary. Like I talk about game and tech related news and bring it to people's attention while adding my own flare.

My advice is don't do any hack or emulation of a Nintendo game. They went on a witch hunt a while ago taking down videos of that kind of stuff and my old channel got hit hard from it.

I have to respectfully disagree with KEy. Even if there's a lot of Pony stuff, it gets views. At the end of the day, that's one of the most important things.

 

What you DON'T want to do are Let's Plays. Everyone does those now, so they'll hardly get any new viewers to your channel. Unless you're already Youtube famous, Let's Plays should only be done as a side thing, mostly for your own enjoyment.

I wish you success with reforming religion. It's a Hell of a job and most of the time it will fail since those fanatics won't allow you.

I'm also an atheist. If someone would ask if I'm religious you have my answer.

Well. If I were to create a religion I would personally make it ethical......Something most religions forget as they were written hundreds or thousands of years ago and slightly edited by some people who stilled believe the same thing.

It's already scary we already have to fight against a widespread religious organization in the Middle-East. And now those SJW's are dumping oil on the fire since most of them sympathize with those wacko cucko's.

And, since I'm also part of the gaming community, they went on a large slander campaign to discredit gamers in every awful way possible. They made the life of gamers insecure and caused a new moral panic.

They go insane if they see MLPforums. Yes, they also hate Bronies.

Isn't religion about uniting people? What logical reason do they hate bronies then. Video games I get kinda of only because it goes against their morals. But Bronies (Being used as a broad term at least) haven't really done anything beside like a show for girls. Something I would of thought Religious people would of been down with. Because as I said isn't religion about uniting people.
