I spent the summer the same way I always do; working extra hours (peak season stuff) and laboring to help my brother refurbish his money-pit business, often getting too much heat and sun and lots of stiff joints.

I always used to drink Tang growing up, but for the past ten years or so I've been drinking Coke or Diet Coke with my morning Poptarts.

I’ve already replied to this before, but I’m still determined to learn a language (Japanese at the moment, and then German if I’m still alive when I get around to it). I also want to put all my short stories into a single volume book.

I recently bought a bunch of Christmas presents for family members. I want to get it done early this year before all the prices magically skyrocket for the holidays.

I'm presently munching on some dry Life cereal. Not much of a snack without milk and tons of sugar, but it'll have to do till I can get some real calories goin' here.

A few come to mind. My best friend helped me to keep my job when I had to take a lengthy medical leave from work; she also introduced me to my future husband. The best thing my hubby did was marrying me. My brother once drained fluid out of my back following surgery, which is a lot to ask from anyone! It was gross and the doctor or nurses should have been the ones to do it, but such is the state of modern healthcare.

I get bad shivers from: seeing someone vomiting, someone being mean to children or animals, and violent crime.
But I get good shivers from: flying in an airplane, roller coasters, great art, or experiencing something completely new in any category.

Attack of the Clones.
One of my all-times faves.

Countless characters for me actually, from movies, TV, animation and books. I'd have to give it some serious thought before I could trim it down to a manageable list.

I’m a smartass.
Is that the same thing? ^^
Maybe not the same thing, but soooo much better!

I love all-nighters. When I don't have to work the next day I really love enjoying the peaceful nocturnal hours.

Life cereal. It's okay when completely submerged in sugar.

I’m really thinking that this is the end of me on the forums.
No way. You're too much a part of things here. You're not allowed to go anywhere!

If you ever have trouble with drawing, try turning the picture in reverse (either by scanning and reversing the image, or just flipping the paper around and holding it up to the light). Sometimes seeing it from a different perspective like that can be a big help. As it is I think your drawing is exquisite.

I'm trying to learn japanese using app called duolingo. it's quite confusing.
I’ve tried Duolingo as well, but it’s based largely on deductive reasoning to determine what words and characters mean. It doesn’t teach context or sentence structure, which is essential. My best resources are the Japanese From Zero series of books. I recommend them highly!

I sleep with a fan on the bed table. If the white noise turns off, I wake up instantly. Total dependency.

I like Star Wars probably too much, and I have an insatiable love of the Disney parks and their classic movies. I don’t know if there is such a thing as loving something too much unless it’s too costly, immoral or unhealthy, but if kept in the proper balance it can be a wonderful love affair.

I like the window to have a thin curtain during the day to allow light in but still maintain privacy in the living room or kitchen, but completely closed with blackout curtains in the bedroom around the clock. I like it dark in there.

I hate cold, clammy weather that has no interesting character to it. There are certain kinds of bleak with character, like icy temperatures or even flooding (within reason) but plain old bleak, grey days with nothing interesting about them are of no use to me.

The modern Disney is only a dying shadow of its former self, more obsessed with squeezing more money out of their customers than creating fresh, original product. Sure, they come up with some decent stuff here and there; with all their resources it’s almost impossible not to hit on something worthwhile somewhere in the mix. But the fact is they don’t care anymore. When Walt was at the helm it was all about the art. He recognized that he couldn’t make art without money and that’s a fact of life, but it was never necessary to take advantage of people to get it. If they have a good product and make an effort to perfect it, fine. But nowadays it’s just a cynical machine more concerned with promotion than good art or customer satisfaction. But since Disney is so huge now and can absorb any losses that might occur, they don’t have to be good at what they do, only prolific enough to temporarily dazzle the public and keep the dollars rolling in. Once they finish a movie there’s no lingering artistic pride, only a mind for how they might market it for dvd, theme parks, merchandise and subsequent sales. That’s why the live-action remakes are getting worse; they’re just a commodity that they can cash-in on until public interest dries up (and obviously it hasn’t dried up yet, much to my astonishment). In Walt’s day, there was a saying they’d use at Disneyland; “Always let the customer go home with some money in their pockets,” but now it’s just the opposite. Little does the modern Disney realize that more customers will return over and over if they don’t get fleeced every time. That goes for the movies as well as the theme parks. Profits don’t have to equate to screwing the public; it always works much better if everyone is satisfied.

So you're saying you don't like shows that try to teach a good moral lesson to children? I'm sorry that you feel that way. I for one think it's a huge improvement over what we have now. Most cartoons these days seem to just be there to rot people's brains and turn kids into idiots. They have nothing to offer but stupidity, randomness, and toilet humor. Examples: Uncle Grandpa, Clarence, Breadwinners, Pickle and Peanut, Sanjay and Craig, Fanboy & Chum Chum, and Teen Titans Go. These shows are all vastly inferior to what we had back during this show's time.
I’m NOT saying I object to shows with a moral lesson! I simply dislike script writing that has to spell out the moral of every episode as though the viewer is incapable of determining the point of the story on their own. Many shows I love, including MLP, have the same flaw and I don’t care for it. It’s great to have a good moral, but not so great to beat the viewer over the head with it. The modern cartoon shows you mention are indeed garbage and I agree completely that they have no value on any level (except maybe Teen Titans Go for its spontaneity). I’m not against Captain Planet or what it stands for, in fact I’m not against it at all; I just prefer a slightly more subtle approach.

He's already made America better, and I believe he's going to do many more amazing things for this country in the future. The media makes him out to be a tyrant who wants nothing but to divide us, and it's a shame people follow and believe it.
I hope he gets re-elected in 2020
I agree 1000% I couldn't have put it better if I tried. Thank you.

Fancypants for me. No question about it.
Would you rather eat or drink for the rest of your life?
in General Discussion
I’d rather eat than drink. The variety is much better with food than with beverages.
