    Supposedly Lauren Faust always wanted Twilight Sparkle to be Celestia's successor. If she was still in charge, would Twilight actually seem like she sort of wants to be a princess, rather than being pressured into it? Given the complete lack of any such indication in the two seasons she was in charge of, I do have my doubts.

      @Number62 If it would be done well; I'm still of the belief that making Twilight a princess is a fundamentally bad idea.

      It could work if they give a good enough reason. Maybe Twilight was so inspired by Princess Celestia that she would jump at the chance to lead Equestria. Or is this more about Twilight possibly long outliving her friends?
