Only during my childhood years in school was it full of peace and support. But beyond that it was an incessant hell. My parents were no help either, and between school and home I never got a break. Indeed, I've had a very rough life growing up. A life full of silent suppressed resentment and unnoticed tears. But you know something? The world didn't come to an end. The fact that I'm still standing is a victory. Every breath I take is a victory.

During my school years I was a constant victim of bullying. I was attacked at school and the attacker had to be pried off of me by security. It's had a traumatic effect on me ever since. Since then I've wanted to be able to protect myself, as well as walk the streets alone with confidence.
