The hunt is on but where do you suppose they could be?

Now comes the waiting as we wait and see what IDW decides on how to handle this.

According to Big Jim, he suggested that her old castle could either be a tourist attraction or a place where students at the school can stay during the school year. Of course, this was another instance of leaving something ambiguous for fans to come up with their own conclusion. Twilight did state that she would leave the castle in Starlight's care though that became more of a throwaway line given what ended up happening.

That’s has been officially known for a while before, add about two years more due to the 2017 leak were we first learn S9 would be the last. Though the original release date was next year instead of 2021. Anyway, it’s possible for Grogar to appear there, but I doubt it’ll have anything to do with FIM
Big Jim did say in his Q&A that they knew the show would be cancelled as early as Summer 2017. How strange that everything regarding the end of the show stems back just over two years. If that is the case with Grogar, the comics are now his best bet and his only one.

When is the deadline?
Four days from now from when the thread was posted. That gives you until Thursday evening my time to submit answers. Extensions are also available but you would need to have a valid reason to have one. Fortunately, I'm pretty flexible with regards to stuff like that.

I wonder what music she's listening to? Now that I think about it, have we ever found out what all of her interests are? While this pic doesn't look suggestive, it was given this distinction over on Derpibooru. So, I will apply that here.
SpoilerSunset, Sci-Twi, and an adorable cat.
The face of innocence.
Sunset wearing a scarf in the autumn landscape.
Nine years... nine friends.
Obligatory Sunset swimsuit image plus selfie rolled into one.
SpoilerAt least this isn't going to be the last of Sunset's outfits given the one remaining special as of this typing.
At least we get to see what they ended up ordering.

Welcome to the 2019 Edition of the Cider Season Trivia.
As most if not all of you are aware, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has recently had its series finale. Though the adventure has come to an end in cartoon form, the adventure continues on through the fandom and beyond. Never forget that.
This is the first trivia event post-series finale so don't expect to see any questions here based on the final three episodes. I know many of you are still trying to come to terms with it so we're avoiding those episodes completely. This will also be the case for the next few trivia events until a time comes where most have come to an acceptance. I'm not sure about other events on the forums so you'd have to check with the other EC's and administrators on that.
Now then. I have here twelve questions for you to answer that are dedicated to Applejack. The questions will cover both Friendship is Magic and Equestria Girls excluding the comics, the final three episodes, and the final Equestria Girls special. FiM will have priority though as there is more content there than in EQG. You will need to submit your answers to @Applejack and she will respond to them as early as two days after the trivia has ended.
Like before, you will have four days from when the trivia is posted to submit answers. Also, working together is allowed and you can ask for some help but please don't spoil any answers by blatantly posting them. Use private messages or a spoiler tag though be sure to indicate this with the latter. No discussions of the final three episodes in this thread! You know where to go for those kinds of discussions.
Again, submit your answers to @Applejack.
Ready? Okay.
1. How did Applejack get her cutie mark? Note: You can go with a simple or long explanation, your choice.
2. In 'Return of Harmony Part 1', what did Applejack witness when Discord placed her under his magic?
3. What did Applejack want to do for the Apple Family Reunion?
4. What was the artefact that represented Applejack's key to the Chest of Harmony?
5. In 'Hearthbreakers', Applejack tried doing what for the Pie Family though they didn't necessarily want it?
6. What was Applejack's lie in 'Where the Apple Lies'?
7. Applejack had to look for what during 'Shadow Play Part 1'?
8. Applejack wanted to say what about Celestia in 'Horse Play'?
9. During the 200th episode, what was Twilight's plan for Applejack? What was Rarity's plan for her?
10. Applejack gained a new kind of magic in 'Legend of Everfree'. What was it?
11. Why was Applejack jealous of Rarity in 'Rollercoaster of Friendship'?
12. In 'Spring Breakdown', what did Applejack attempt to do that ultimately failed?-

I'm just wondering how much the Season 10 comics will address about things.
We're pretty much in the dark with season ten. We don't even know how the format will work. All IDW did was make an announcement and left it at that. We'll probably get details of their plan next year. At least I hope so. I am expecting one thing though, and that is they will tackle stories that occur after 'The Ending of the End Part 2' but before 'The Last Problem'. The epilogue, as good as it was, is an issue with regards to the comics because of how long the time skip was. Then again, they could do a short spin-off series that tackles the future events just to satisfy those who are curious to want to know more about it.

And so the floodgates have now been opened.
For those who still haven't seen the final episodes, enter the season nine discussion section at your own risk.

As small as it was, I think that might have been the thing that excited me most about the episode. Ever since Rainbow Rocks back in 2014, I have been wanting to see Sunset make an appearance in the show, even if it was just a small cameo. So after all these years, to finally see Sunset appear in the main show, it just felt really good, and I know that I'm not the only one who felt this way. It was like icing on the cake to have a much desired fan request finally make it into the show during its finale, and after watching I had to go back and watch the song on youtube to make sure I didn't imagine it. It was just really great, and touches like this are why I love the episode.
Another extra touch is that Rebecca Shoichet, Sunset's voice actress, got to sing in the final song. Granted, it was as Twilight, but I'd like to think of it as Sunset being able to contribute to the final episode in her own way. But yes, to see my favourite character finally get her dues after being denied so long, it made me cry on the inside.

The show and especially Equestria Girls have been worth it to me over these past six years. Had I never watched those snippets of the first EQG movie back then, who knows what I'd be doing with my life right now. I shudder to think of that scenario. Both show and spin-off have helped me deal with some issues that have plagued my life while others remain because they go far beyond a cartoon show that appealed to a demographic that was totally unexpected. I still dislike 'The Ending of the End' because of certain revelations and resolutions that made it a chore for me to get through, but 'The Last Problem' made up for it even if it wasn't perfect in its execution and I see as a what-if-scenario detailing an Equestria that has yet to be.
I've no intention of leaving this fandom as it's done more for me than I even deserve.

I had hoped for Grogar to be the final villain of the series who was betrayed by the other villains thus allowing them to reform to some extent. I was honestly expecting there to be some kind of reformation given how it's been used so often. But, we were surprised completely with what actually happened.

Time constraints played a large factor when it came to how the final episodes would pan out. According to Big Jim, they knew the show was going to be cancelled as far back as Summer 2017, and fans wouldn't know that season nine would be the last until late 2018/early 2019. Because of this, the staff had only fifty-two episodes across two seasons in order to wrap up as much as possible whilst introducing new ideas. Because of this, backstories of characters weren't fleshed out or left in the dark, some characters only had one or two appearances and never appeared after that, locations weren't explained in full detail, and so forth.
With regards to the epilogue, they just didn't have enough time to create vectors of all the future versions of everyone, so they had to make do with what they could. This also includes showing us how locations have changed over the years since we only got Ponyville and Canterlot. I've been saying that 'The Last Problem' needed to be either two parts or an extended episode to get everything resolved.
For 'The Ending of the End', despite how much I dislike it for what it did, it did have some good moments, but again, much had to be left out because they didn't have enough time to get it all in there. Had this been three parts, they might have gotten more in, but that is a dream idea now as we have what we have.
I'm all for allowing the fandom to decide on things but it does carry risks which others have already suggested. The time skip is fun as we get to see the future but without knowing how the characters got to that point, problems arise which is where having the fandom figure things out can result in ugliness if you get my meaning.

I'm still crying about it...
On the inside, I'm still crying though I'm doing my best to remain strong. It's also made my age issues flare up which usually doesn't happen involving cartoons. Guess there's a first time for everything.

I'd like to reiterate that I'm happy that Sunset appeared during the montage at the end, her and Flash Sentry.

Characters like Spike and Applejack have had incarnations throughout the generations so I expect them to receive incarnations for generation five as it would be a tradition at this point. As for others... I'd love another incarnation of Sunset Shimmer so that she can appear in the main show as opposed to a spin-off.
-
So that's what happened with that particular rank--the Kirin one. Good to see that it has finally been unleashed. What is the remaining rank? I don't know but I suppose we will find out soon enough.
-
We must remain strong if we are to keep this fandom going.
I really like this one and would love to see it in colour.
Time for a suggestive image now though my interest is geared towards the Switch that Sunset is holding. I'm sure I don't need to tell you what game she is playing unless you've been living under a rock for a couple of years.
SpoilerSunset and Pinkie Pie.
Double the Sunset goodness.
Sunset and Sci-Twi.
And again.
I forgot that I had added this one to my catalog until I saw it over on Equestria Daily a couple of days ago. Anyway, this one is suggestive.

Many of the answers Big Jim provided were ones I expected, and yet I appreciate them for what they are, aside from one which I will get to shortly. The fact that they left things up to fan's interpretations and doing so intentionally allows for some interesting discussion to be had. But, it can be dangerous as it could potentially lead into conflict where some people's opinions will clash with others.
The one thing I have to take issue with is the time problem. Time constraints have been the bane of MLP and Equestria Girls from the very beginning, and even now at the very end of it all, it remained a consistent problem. I still believe that 'The Ending of the End' would've benefitted from being three parts and either have 'The Last Problem' be two parts or an extended episode so as to not leave anything significant out. Even then, would that have been enough?
2 hours ago, Wolf Guide said:You can simply ignore the future segments and treat it as a "What if it happened like this" scenario. It's just one possibility. Being a believer that every possible past present and future exists in some way, I like to keep my mind open
I think of the epilogue as a what-if scenario myself and this is especially true with season ten being in comic form. Whatever happens in the comics could end up retconning some events in the future or even remove them entirely.

Legend of Everfree does a better job of utilizing the characters it has at its disposal by allowing everyone to contribute in their own way. Gloriosa also made for a more sympathetic villain as she was trying her best to save the camp only to become consumed by magic she didn't really understand. Also, Sunset shows herself to be a true mentor by guiding Sci-Twi on how to move on past being a monster as both of them put it.

I've written a fan finale that covers the cracked statue, Sunset becoming homesick, and the girls graduating.
https://www.fimfiction.net/story/447926/equestria-grads
I know it's not quite the same, and I am really hoping we get SOME kind of official conclusion (surely Nick can hand over his unproduced idea to IDW if he wanted to, right?) but I wrote it with the intent to soften the blow to myself and anyone else who felt EqG got screwed out of a true finale.
Since you went to all the trouble of bringing this to my attention, I think I'm going to see what you've written.

Well... Sunset did have a cameo. I know that's not what you meant but someone just had to say it out of context. My best memories mainly revolve around Equestria Girls but there are some Friendship is Magic ones to be found. Twilight's Kingdom is still my favourite finale thanks to the epic fight scene that was featured. The epilogue episode is still fresh in my mind which has given me some mixed feelings. A small part of me feels sad knowing that the show is over yet I know that it is what it is and that we must move forward.

This is one of those shipping moments.
Sunset wearing a leopard costume. Perhaps a better way to say this would be Sunset is best leopard girl.
Tee-hee!
Sunset reminds us that fall is now in session.
I know this is using a custom vector with a background behind it but I love this one all the same.
This suggestive pic of Sunset and Rainbow Dash certainly came out of left field.

I'd prefer to remain in the present since we're still experiencing that. The future is fine and all but not everyone is going to be there for obvious reasons--this is also true for those who have yet to be born so it's a double-edged sword. If season ten intends on continuing on where the finale, not epilogue, left off, the present still has plenty of stories for us.

That would be a little too easy. Still, kudos for actually thinking of it.
