  1. What does any of that have to do with their competence in online gaming though? Going online does not mean you cannot play together in the same room. It would not be that big a deal to have it set up where you can play in the comfort of your own home with your family and friends when possible, but for those who don't have that luxury they can go online and search for people to play. It is about options and choice, and frankly, Nintendo is more concerned with telling people what they should like instead of asking them and capitalizing on it. But that has always been Nintendo, moving at their own pace and seeing the world only through their single vision. Obviously it works for them since they continue to do well, and have shown little interest in changing how they operate overall until only very recently, and even now even though fans are excited, critics are just wondering if Nintendo will even take it seriously.

  2. Virtually nothing.

I am not sure Nintendo even knows what online is sometimes. Where their competitors embrace online gaming Nintendo seems determined to believe it is just some passing fad.

  3. I dunno. Seems like a dangerous game to me. I mean are they an actual racist or bigot, or did they just say stuff people disagree with. Just about anything that come out of someones mouth these days is offensive to somebody, and if you happen to mention a color you can tack on bigotry to that apparent crime.

If someone is a bigot, I feel they will work themselves out of public acceptance without any help from somebody pointing at them talking about how all of a countries problems mainly stem from them making offensive slurs or vulgar comments. I do not think racism should be tolerated, but there is a big leap between tolerating something and then trying to crusade against freedom of speech, expression and thought. If you are trying to stifle and censor everyone and everything in every way, we might as well sew all of our mouths shut that way no words can be spoken, and no offense can be taken.

  4. It is not the ant infestations you have to worry about, it is the Uncles.

Also, depending upon where you live, they are often coming inside to find water or warmth or escape from it. Ants, like people are looking for the perfect home to protect them from the elements... sometimes they just prefer to take over yours instead of building their own.

  5. No, because he was reiterating a realistic belief that I am sure a lot of other ponies share. How he went about it was pretty disgusting and shocking, but that is how some people are... they have a belief and opinion and they share it, for better or for worse. You want to change that belief.. show them they are wrong. You don't silence it by telling them to be quiet, removing them or sweeping it under the rug... that just implies their viewpoint has some validity and gives those who believe it more room to spout their false beliefs.

Now if he did not have a realistic belief and everyone was giving him a WTF look and he was just being racist due to outright bigotry then yeah, boot his plot right on the spot.

Of course this is a kids cartoon show, we are not going to dive to deep down this rabbit hole.

  6. I never wanted to do anything to them personally. I more or less just wanted to be left alone and be allowed to go through my day in peace. I mostly just wished those that did bother me would go away. For the most part though I did not have it that bad... Junior High had some rough spots, but nothing overall that I could not tolerate.. and it almost completely stopped in High School. Of course by then I was a lot bigger than a lot of others and my personality tended to ward virtually everyone off.

I genuinely wonder why people believe things like this.

Because science in and of itself is not a physical entity you can literally kick in the balls when you want some attention... so this is the next best thing for some.

For some going against the grain is refusing to farm rutabagas like their pappy before them and his pappy before him... for others it is "Screw your round world, I prefer discs!".

    1. Philolaus's ideas were all eventually superseded by the modern belief that a spherical Earth rotating on its own axis was one of several spherical planets following the laws of gravity and revolving around a much larger Sun. The idea of a Counter-Earth waned after the heliocentric model of the solar system became widely accepted from the 16th century. In the contemporary world "Counter-Earth" usually refers to a hypothetical planet with an orbit as Burch described, on the other side of the "Central Fire"—i.e. the Sun. It cannot be seen from Earth, not because Earth faces away from the center,[Note 1] but because the Sun's great size and luminosity blocks its view. It has been a recurring motif in science fiction, fiction—often serving as an allegory for the real Earth[15]—and UFO claims.[2]

I knew there were some odd theories out there, but that's on a whole new level. :dash:

It is also not the one I am referring to. In short, one of the theories believed is that the "Earth" is surrounded on all sides by a giant wall of ice... which is what they feel Antarctica really is. Past this wall of ice is where even Flat-Earthers argue amongst each other. Some believe it is a second "Earth" encircling our Earth... some believe the world just goes on forever, and others think it is where the real world government lives. Plus there are all sorts of other theories.... as many as believe in the whole idea of it I would imagine.

No one actually believes the Earth is flat.

I would say someone building a homemade rocket and attempting to launch themselves into space to photograph it qualifies as a believer.

Either way, I have had to argue with a few of these people from time to time... some raging lunatics who can't form a coherent sentence,  and some who can give an amazing power point presentation and almost convince me if I did not already know better. What is really fun is when you run into those who will start talking about the second Earth, the infinite Earth, or the government controlled utopia Earth.

  10. Tough call between Final Fantasy IX, Breath of Fire IV & Chrono Cross.

Honorable mentions go to Metal Gear Solid, Soul Reaver, FF 7, FF 8, Silent Hill, Resident Evil 2 & 3, Castlevania:SOTN, Legend of Dragoon, Legend of Legaia, Lunar: Silver Star Story, Koudelka, Parasite Eve 1 & 2

  11. I am disappointed there have not been more rock and mineral jokes about this whole premise save for the cobble I saw. You all disappoint me.

Either way kinda of curious about this new BF of hers... as someone above mentioned maybe he is a rockstar, ore maybe just a stoner. I have no concrete proof of this, just a hunch it is where they will take it. Either way, Maud is a true gem trying to start a clean slate in Ponyville, so hopefully whomever he is, he will not take her for granite. I do imagine this will be a very hard episode for some, and I am sure some of you are petrified about it, and being crystal clear here it might leave me a bit jaded as well, but we can just chalk it up to all of us being fans of the character and wanting the best for her. Hopefully Pinky won't be trying to erode this relationship like she did the one between Starlight and Maud... but no pressure on the writers.

It should be a very solid episode... and I do look forward to everyone else chipping in their thoughts.

OK, I will leave now. :muffins:

*How many puns can you find hidden in the paragraph? And how long can I dodge the rotten fruit coming my way?

And Rainbow feels she would have all the answers and give the best course of action.

Twilight probably would have told Scoots to do the exact same thing she did.. because Scoots is pretty darn smart herself and made the best decision based upon the knowledge she had.

  13. I feel OK. A bit tired and annoyed with some things going on in RL, but is whatever.

I've been feeling really jealous lately. Mostly jealous of people who seem to be good at controlling their feelings, because I'm really bad at that, and it makes me sad :/

Don't be jealous. You already have a thousand things to make others envious of in one individually awesome person. ^_^

The only downside is you are not me anymore... errr.. you.. um.. yourself... I mean...

SEE WHAT ALL YOUR NAME CHANGING DID!!!! :glimmer:

Jesus 38cking Christ I have a source this time for crying out loud! In times past, I didn't have one, but now I do.

And please stop criticizing me on my "obsession with censorship laws around the world"; I'm just concerned about the citizens that are big fans of the movie but won't get to see it or buy it legally.

They said temp banned, not perma banned. Don't have a cow dude, just relax.

I don't think you are concerned about the citizens of South Korea at all though. I think you are still holding onto this thought about how well the film is doing based upon where it shows and it's frequency. Otherwise, of all the censorship issues in the world to worry about, a country not getting pony right away should be somewhere on the bottom of it.

Either way, it is time to move on... it has been almost 6 months. The movie is old news by now. They will get it when they get it.

  15. No. Pinkie Pie is not real and neither are her friends, and they are the product of a company that would never do something like that.

Seriously, what is with all these hypothetical gonzo questions lately? I get the whole people like to ask "what if" scenarios, but it is like we are not even watching the same show with some of the questions we are seeing lately.
