  1. Good Morning World & All Who Inhabit It!

  2. I must say that this is pretty good for a first character sketch; and don't worry, art is difficult for everyone at first, you just have to keep practicing. I especially like the colour choice for your OC, the different shades of blue go really well together. I do have one piece of advice, but you don't necessarily have to take it. The thing I want to comment on is the eye colour. Most of your OC is blue, and the eyes are a darker shade of blue. I like to think that the eyes are shining beacons which can help to others to identify the character more easily; but if the eyes are a similar colour to the rest of the body, they will simply blend in. Take Applejack for example, she has mostly bland colours in her mane, body, and even her hat. Her eyes, however, are a brilliant green which stand out from the rest of her features, but ultimately tie together to create a great appearance. Since your OC has a yellow comet as a cutie mark, you could make her eyes golden to reflect the stars she gazes upon each night (If that's what she does). Hope this helps, and just remember to keep practicing.
  3. Observing life at its core principles is certainly a great way to create a realistic personality for a character, good point Loyalty.
  4. Thanks. First time posting something on this forum, still trying to learn how to navigate.
  5. Multiplication and division are both fairly easy once you get used to them. Multiplying is basically just constant addition, and division can be done using t-charts. The most important thing to remember is to keep practicing.
  6. Considering that the end of MLP:FIM showed us that Twilight eventually grew up to be an adult alicorn, do you think it ever got boring in Ponyville given the fact that there were never anymore dangerous incidents occurring? Then again, someponies were probably greatly relieved.
  7. As everyone knows, a good character needs to have many strong qualities such as a unique personality, particular capabilities, and especially a few weaknesses. I've seen many examples of fan made character backstories going around, but I've noticed a bit of a pattern with some of them, that pattern being that a few of them can be pretty long. I'm not looking to judge anyone, but one of the tips I can provide for this is to keep it simple. In other words, make it so you can sum up your character in one sentence. For example, if you were looking to describe Twilight, you could say this: "An intelligent pony princess who loves to read books." Those who hear this basic description are able to build upon this view and develop their own interpretation of the character much easier. But that's not to say you should make your character bio too short, just try to write a summary that expands on information one piece at a time, rather than trying to introduce new information all at once. So in conclusion, try to keep things simple, because basic concepts are much easier to develop than complex ones. So do tell, in your own opinion, what do you think makes a well-written character?
  8. Thank you all for the kind welcome, I'm happy to be here.
  9. Though I don’t yet have digital art software, I shall keep trying to improve my skills for the future so that I can contribute to this community. So until that day eventually comes, I’ll try to log in from time to time, and I look forward to seeing what this community has to offer. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day.
