unicorns: 80 years earth: 150 years pegasi: 90 years alicorn: immortal by choice, so if they ever get tired or things have gone too long on i wouldnt see it as impossible for them to give their alicorn immorality away this is just headcanons though and nothing that could be backed up as being true besides the more earth pony elders there are in the show rather than that other races it is a little weird though that going through the magical EQG portal Twilight is then a teenager rather than an adult like in the normal pony world

i have successfully broken the tie with a vote for sombra 1) his story in the comics is way more interesting 2) i just think hes neat

definitely new plots, new story, and new characters. while mlp:fim was great i think itd be nicer to have a completely new story to get invested in rather than the same one but different in a few ways. its why i got excited about the chance of there being a new mane6. while i love og mane6 again it would just be nicer to see new characters rather than old ones. its hard to let go but youre getting something new out of it that i think everyone should give a chance. i honestly feel like its just people not being able to let go when they say they just want more g4 stuff or the same characters. the characters and stories have already been exhausted enough. if theres a new cast and new world please give it a chance. and i also just find it in lazy writing to rehash the same characters/personality types which is why im also against it. it just seems cheap

dang a lot of people dont like the g1 style apparently i just really hope g5's artstyle will be its own thing - and wont be just a rehash of g4's artstyle with a few minor details changed

inspired by @Califorum's post asking what would everyone to like to see in g5 or not like to see im wondering what everyone would want the visuals to look like? or the artstyle to be more specific i myself would love to see the ponies in the series with more unique body types and body differences that FIM only really started getting around to late into the series as something that became common. id like to see the ponies be a bit more horse like as well. such as different colored/furred hooves and more anatomically correct body structures that g1's pilot had. not overly realistic but not extremely cartoony either. id love a middle ground like that. i want it to be its own artstyle and not take too many notes from g4's

what i'd look forward to: 1) having the toys still being one of the main focuses but not. yknow. bad. id love to have the toys resemble the g1 counterparts in terms of size and correct anatomy. g1 toys stayed very true to their show counterparts and its rare to see them go off-model unlike g4 (brush able) toys that constantly go off model and look horrid at times. i know not everyone cares about the toys but as someone whos a collector it would be nice to have a more appealing line than what g4 gave us. 2) hopefully this thread doesnt get locked for me mentioning this but i'd honestly really like to see more diversity. g4's diversity was done a bit rough imo? it wasnt bad it was just not really consistent. i obviously dont want it to be overly girlboss woke or whatever i hate when that becomes the main selling point. but it would be nice to see more open LGBT characters or more race-coded characters. 3) more stallions in the series. this could just be my bias cause idk i just always tend to like guy characters more (not romantic i just legit am better to relate to male characters in media more). i mean g4 had stallions obviously that played their own role but it wasn't anything special? i think staff have already discussed the idea of stallions being in the mane6.7?10?? not sure how big the main cast is gonna be this time. usually in older generations it was always 7. 4) i really hope the mane cast will be inspired by older generations like how g4's cast was. i always thought it was so cool seeing the evolution of ponies through out the generations they were re-introduced in. 5) praying to god they make new lore and dont just churn out the same concepts g4 already made. what i wouldn't like to see: 1) overdoing of trying to tie in g4 and g5. im not a fan of them trying to connect these at all and i wish it was gonna be its own thing but they talk about wanting to do this A LOT. i know its to help the mourning of bronies losing their favorite horse waifus by referencing through out the new generation but im not looking forward to it. 2) starlight glimmer 3) overly cartoony designs. while i obviously love MLP:FIM it would be nice to see g5 designs be a bit more horse like in terms of showing hoof-fur or having the anatomy be a bit more correct to real horses/ponies like in the earlier generations. (mostly speaking in case of the g1 pilot movie's artstyle anatomy. compared to the g1 series it was much better and cleaner in design and the combination of both semi realism and cartoon) (sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes it is 3 am and i am out of it)

oh and also about the activism and diversity they want to include?i really dont mind - its good to have stuff like that be more normalized to younger audiences. i just hope they dont absolutely destroy any sense of respect they have for the minorities theyre trying to inspire like how most shows nowadays try to be progressive and flop terribly and do more harm than good i honestly was not a fan of how FIM approached racism by already having the dragons be inherently rude in nature (although this kinda got better in some areas it was never consistent with the portrayal of them) as well as how they handled the buffalos and zecora's character reveals were not the best in my opinion.

hopefully the toys of this new generation wont be 1 inch tall and have human craniums and have noses so small it looks like a dot im really hoping the new style will be a bit more "horse like", i really loved how ponies were stylized in the earlier generations and even though g4 has a great style it is legithard for some people to tell what they are from a first glance and while i have very high hopes for the show i really hope its not gonna be a lore dump of a rollercoaster to go through like theyre hyping it up to be while im all for some good alicorn in-depth lore explanations or whatever i hope its still gonna have a lighthearted goofy sense to itself that FIM kinda lost in later seasons

eh? i mean she kinda had to prove herself as a good person in the second movie and still did some not morally good stuff. she had a lot more time to think on her actions. i will say her as a character reveal was rushed but i think her redemption arc was not starlights on the other hand? she had a good character reveal but a bad redemption arc

oh yea i also forgot to mention i think it wouldve been cooler for twilight to had been a earth pony it would be nice to really hon in on the term "friendship is magic" by having her magic come from the love of her friends and not her horn
