  1. Hmm, well um, maybe I could look over your backstory and ask questions about it? And then we could discuss ways to fill it in together? So looking over your backstory, you mentioned that he was born in Manehattan but then moved to Canterlot as a foal. Is there a specific reason why this happened? Is it based on what you experienced as a child? It seems like Bubbling Shine discovering the creature during his childhood is an important part of his backstory. Can he communicate with this creature? Are they still friends? What happened to this creature? BTW, if you want to roleplay, I'm always up for that as well. I love roleplaying!
  2. I think your character is quite nice. What parts of him do you want to develop? For me, I usually develop my characters by roleplaying them with friends. I find it helpful to figure out what they should be like when I write them out in a roleplay.
  3. Hmm, I would be interested in this. I’ve read some interesting fimfictions about humans in Equestria or ponies on earth, and I think it could be interesting to do a roleplay based on these ideas. I have a few questions about the RP though. First, what do you mean by anthro pony? Second, would the pony character know how they ended up on Earth? And would the pony character have some way of returning to Equestria? Finally, what kind of setting and plot ideas do you have?
  4. @Illiad Easle "O-oh. I see," Speckle replied. She was kind of disappointed, but she tried not to worry about it given that Indigo said that there wasn't much that could be done about it. "Oh wow that's cool! What places has he been to? And what are those places like? What are the ponies like there?" Speckle asked. "Huh, that's interesting to know. How do you know this? Have you seen how earth pony and unicorn bakeries do things?" Speckle asked. She found this differencekind of interesting. "Uum, yeah, everything is so different here. It's nothing like the big city. There is like so much nature around here. Also, there are so many things here that I haven't seen before. Like shimmerwood! There's also a lot of things that they do differently here compared to back home," Speckle replied.
  5. @Illiad Easle Speckle looked a little saddened by this. "What happened to your clan?" she asked, glancing at Indigo. "Uum, what's the flower experiment?" Speckle asked. She tried to recall if she had done any experiments with Nova involving flowers. "Hmm, I haven't really thought about that before. However, I haven't really been outside of Canterlot until now, so I'm not really sure," Speckle replied. She tried to recall if she knew of any ponies from outside of Canterlot that looked different. "Oh wow, that's cool. I wonder if dyes like this are how they make those pastries so colourful in Canterlot?" Speckle pondered. When Indigo pulled out the mortar and pestle, she glanced at it curiously. "Ooh, I'd be interested in trying," she replied. She would take the pestle in her hooves and try grinding the flower petals in the mortar, getting some of the powder on her hooves in the process. Speckle would glance up at the zebra customers when they approached the stand. Since most of them spoke a language Speckle didn't understand, she would quickly turn her attention back to the dyes she was attempting to make. However, when she overheard one of the customers speaking Equish, she would pause for longer, setting down the pestle to focus on the zebra. "Uum, hello, I'm Speckle," she introduced herself.
  6. @Illiad Easle While Speckle tried to maintain a positive attitude, it faltered when the other two brought up Turing. “Yeah he felt kind of… mean at first… at least until I caught something,” Speckle sighed. “And apparently, he’s kind of mean to Nova as well!” Speckle exclaimed, stomping a hoof on the ground in frustration. Speckle would glance curiously at the ponies passing by. While she could tell that they were ponies, Speckle was surprised to see that they didn’t have the same bright pastel colors as the ponies seen where she lived. “Huh, the ponies here look kind of different,” Speckle whispered to Nova. “Does that mean you found is surprising when you arrived in Canterlot and found bright pastel colored ponies everywhere?” Speckle seemed to remember a bit about what Nova and Indigo said about the ponies that lived nearby, but it was still a little surprising to actually see them. When it came to setting up, Speckle would mostly copy what Nova did. However, she would glance curiously at the various wares and compare the various colors to each other. “How do you make these colors?” Speckle would ask out loud while she helped the other two set up.
  7. @Illiad Easle After thinking it through for a moment, it made sense why there wouldn't be any animals up in the canopy of the trees. It probably didn't make much sense for animals to live in the trees that would be cut down for wood. However, Speckle did find it surprising how well-trimmed the trees were. Speckle thought that they almost looked like the decorative trees seen frequently throughout Canterlot. "I see," Speckle replied. "Well, maybe that's a mystery we can solve, together!" Speckle exclaimed. "What do thestrals use shimmerwood for?" "Hello! No, we didn't change our minds. We just wanted to take a look at the shimmerwood trees," Speckle replied. Initially, Speckle wasn't sure if she wanted to volunteer to carry a bag. However, after seeing Nova volunteer, she would ask if she could carry a bag. At the mention of the smell of blood, Speckle sniffed the air, trying to pick up on what Indigo noticed. When she failed to notice any scent, she tried licking her fangs. Her eyebrows shot up in surprise as she noticed a faint taste. After getting over her surprise, she realized Indigo had asked her a question. "Oh, um, it was ok. I think that Nova and I work well together. Like, there was no way I could have caught anything on my own, but Nova was a lot of help!" Speckle exclaimed.
  8. Hello Reagan0523 and welcome to the forums. I hope you like it here. I quite like your character. Maybe his name could be Cosmic?
  9. Skylight stared at the painting in confusion. Then she tilted her head and stared at the painting some more. "It looks like something that would sell for 69,000 bits at an art auction in Manehatten..." She finally replied.
  10. "Oh my gosh!" Skylight exclaimed as she was splattered in the face by cake. She was hit by so much cake she stummbled back, tripping over her own hooves and fell to the ground. "What just happened?" Skylight asked as she removed cake from her face and glanced around. "Wait, this was Dynamo's idea?" Skylight paused removing cake frosting from her mane to glance at Dynamo wide eyed in shock.
  11. @Illiad Easle "Oh wow, that's so cool!" Speckle remarked as she admired the trees curiously. It was pretty cool to line up with the rows and see trees of all the same height all in a row. She would make sure to avoid getting too close to the younger saplings. However, She would be interested in flying up to the canopy of one of the oldest trees to see if there was anything interesting in there. "Oh wow, so like the trees go from like super soft to like super strong? Does that mean they can use the trees for different things depending on their strength?" Speckle asked. "What interesting things have you seen the clan use this wood for do you think?" After glancing around for a few moments, feeling satisfied with having explored the place, she would return to Nova. Unless Nova had anything else to add, she would say, "Ok, I'm ready to go."
  12. "...Really?" Skylight stared at Moonlight suspiciously. "I'm not sure, but I think he's up to something sus," Skylight replied.
  13. "It's nice to meet you too," Skylight replied. "I wish you luck with what you're trying. I kind of have some vague ideas planned, but like, I don't know what I'm doing. But then again, does anypony really know what they're doing?" Skylight shrugged, giggling slightly. "Hello Moonlight. Are you participating in this? If so, what do you plan on doing?" Skylight asked. She glanced at the banana curiously. Skylight tried and failed to stifile a giggle. "Ah, that's nice. Well I can't wait to see where this goes!" Skylight replied.
  14. "Uum, hello Titanium. I'm Skylight," Skylight replied. "Uum, I'm not sure if I'm going to participate yet. What about you?" When Moonlight @Nitobit approaches, Skylight would say hi to him as well. "Ooh cool, you're a professional? What do you plan on doing?" Skylight asked.
  15. "Dynamo!" Skylight replied. "Oh my gosh, it's been like too long since we've last seen each other. What was that like yesterday or something?" Skylight giggled. "I'm doing good. You know, I've been doing more of the same with magic and statistics and comp sci and hanging out with my friends like Twilight. What about you? What have you been up to, @Dynamo Pad?" Skylight asked. "W-what?" Skylight stammered, giving Shiny a confused look. "Y-you know, when you jumped out of that box? You know what? Never mind... Anyways, what have you been up to? And what do you plan on doing, @Shiny Silvermoon?" "Uum, hello," Skylight would say quietly as she tried to introduce herself. She would pour herself a glass of sparkling cider, hoping that Titanium (@Wizard) would notice and reply.
  16. Skylight was about to approach Dynamo when Shiny leaped out of one of the boxes. "Yikes!" she gasped, stumbling back and tripping over herself before falling to the ground. She glanced up and noticed Shiny as she got herself up. "Oh, it's you, Shiny. ...How did you do that?" She asked, glancing at the unicorn in confusion. She would then turn her attention to Dynamo. "Hello Dynamo. How's it going? I heard there's a comedy event happening here. I'm not sure if I'm going to join, but I would be interested in watching," she said. She would also notice Titanium and say hi to her as well.
  17. Hello FocusedGleam, and welcome to the forums. I hope you like it here. Oh my gosh, cool! I love roleplaying as well! What do you like to roleplay? There's a roleplaying section here on the forums. Feel free to start a topic there and discuss ideas.
  18. @Illiad Easle "Well maybe we work better as a pair, because there was no way I would have caught anything without you. I probably would have kept trying to use my hooves or something..." Speckle said, trying to reassure Nova. "Ah, that's cool. Yeah, I would like to see where you grow things. I'll remember to make it quick," Speckle replied. She was quite curious about what the clan's fields looked like. Speckle hadn't ever thought about glowing wood before. Maybe they grew other unusual things as well.
  19. Well I think that most ponies are cute, but in my opinion, the cutest ponies are Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, and the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
  20. I would be interested. I wonder how this is going to work though…
  21. I love talking about traveling, and I'm quite familiar with the US cities in the Northeast. Feel free to ask me to elaborate on things or specify exactly what you want. Destinations I recommend: New York City: This city is the one I am most familiar with and have the most things to recommend. I find this video is quite informative on all the most interesting attractions in New York City. Here is a list of the locations mentioned for your convience. Statue of Liberty, Charging Bull, NYSE, Financial District, Seaport, World Trade Center Brooklyn Bridge Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown, Little Italy Washington Sq Park, Greenwich, East Village, Soho, NoHo, Union Sq, Madison Sq, Flatiron District Chelsea Market, Whitney, Little Island, High Line, Hudson Yards, The Edge Koreatown, Empire State, Macy’s , Bryant Park, The Summit, Times Square Rockefeller Center, Top of the Rock, 5th Avenue, MoMA, Central Park Natural History Museum,The Met Museum, Guggenheim, Central Park The video above seems more for someone who is dedicating a whole week to visiting New York City, but you can pick and choose what you're most interested in to build your own itinery. Also, the channel in general has a lot of tips for visiting New York City, and there are many other channels dedicated to talking about attractions in NYC as well. Philadelphia: Independence Hall and Liberty Bell Elfreth's Alley Reading Terminal Market Philadelphia Museum of Art Fairmount Park Philadelphia City Hall Penn's Landing Grab a Philly Cheesesteak Washington DC: Georgetown Washington Monument Lincoln Memorial & Other Memorials United States Botanic Garden Smithsonian Museums The National Mall Arlington National Cemetery Smithsonian's National ZOO Library of Congress United States Capitol New Orleans: Swamp tours Jackson square City park Louis Armstrong park Jazz Clubs Canal street French quarter Grab some Cajun food San Francisco: Palace of Fine Arts Chinatown Alamo Square Lombard Street Golden Gate Park Ferry Building and Market Cable Cars Alcatraz Golden Gate Bridge Fisherman's Warff & Pier 39 Los Angeles: Hollywood Walk of Fame Griffith Observatory The Grove & The Original Farmers Market Hollywood Sign Universal Studios Beverly Hills: Rodeo Drive The Broad, The Getty, and LACMA museums Venice Beach, Venice Canals Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica 3rd St Promonade General tips: The locations I recommend are the most visited attractions of each major city, so expect large crowds For cities you are spending multiple days in, sort the destinations by location to minimize travel time, freeing up more time at each location Consider using public transit in New York City, Washington DC, and San Francisco. These three cities have frequent public transit and would be less expensive than using a rideshare to go between destinations Unless you have already booked the bus tickets between New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington DC, consider looking into train options as well. Trains are run by Amtrak and they have a lot of trains between the three cities mentioned and they could potentially be a nicer experience Be prepared to make changes if it rains. While the three western cities are less likely to rain in the summer, the five other cities mentioned can get rain Depending on if you use public transit and how many attractions you do per day, be prepared to walk a lot. Remember to bring comfortable shoes If you want to go to local businesses in New York City and San Francisco (maybe New Orleans) bring cash Be aware of tourist scams at many major tourist attractions Tipping waiters at restaurants is required
  22. @Illiad Easle Speckle would prefer to carry it now. She would carry it on her back if it could stay there without falling off, and on her hoof otherwise. "...Never acted like what?" Speckle asked. She found the way Turing had suddenly changed his demeanour a little strange, and Nova's most recent comment amplified this. "W-what? Why would he do that?" Speckle stammered, confused, before Nova's comments about how the rest of the clan viewed him came to mind. She glanced around to make sure no thestral was nearby before whispering, "Is this what you mean by you feel like the rest of the clan doesn't like you?" "It was... Well, there were parts I found interesting, but there were also parts I didn't like. I didn't like the pressure Turing put on me. I liked the excitement of finding the animal after tracking it down. I appreciate the help you gave me on what to do. It was interesting to learn about things I didn't know before. I think you're an excellent guide," Speckle expressed her thoughts out loud. "Also, this reminds me of how I track down the raccoons after they do stuff like digging through the garbage. Those raccoons can do the strangest things, I'm telling you. It's almost as though they have unicorn magic or something. That's why they are nicknamed raccoonicorns in Canterlot," speckle rambled a random tangent. As the pair entered the food prep area, Speckle wanted to take a little look around. However, she was a little squirmish about seeing the hare being broken down, so she would be interested in seeing what else was going on there. "So what kinds of foods do you prep here?" Speckle would ask as she glanced around curiously. "Anything interesting to note?"
  23. Hopefully not for a while. I’ve made a lot of friends from this community. Cute pastel ponies for life!
  24. "O-oh?" Tinker sniffled, drying out his tears and straightening up. Like just about everything else he found out today, this seemed to answer and raise so many questions simultaneously. "O-ok, I will help," Tinker replied meekly. While Luna's more friendly expression calmed Tinker down somewhat, the sudden transition did feel strangely abrupt. He had no idea what to make of this situation. Sure, while he probably could use his changeling abilities, he got the impression that Luna would have expected him to do so and thus would be prepared to do anything to keep him under her control. The only thing Tinker could do was go along with what Luna wanted to do and hope that it all works out. Surely Luna wouldn't hurt her subjects, right?
  25. @Illiad Easle Speckle thought for a moment. She desperately wanted to earn Turing's approval, but her mouth was feeling quite tired. She wasn't used to holding a large live animal like this in her mouth for so long, and she wasn't confident that she would be able to carry it all the way back. After a few moments, Speckle would shake her head. Once Speckle's mouth was free, she would nod towards Turing before rubbing the side of her face with a hoof. "Woah, that was tiring. It's strange holding things in your mouth like that..." Speckle said. At first, she was a little nervous over Turing's reaction, but she felt relieved that Turing maintained his softer attitude towards her. Speckle would observe silently, making notes in her mind as Turing explained what he was doing. "That... makes more sense now." Speckle would quietly say out loud to herself once Turing was done explaining. "Oh, uum, thanks," Speckle replied with a slight blush. She wasn't really sure what else to say, so she would contentedly accept the praise while glancing back and forth between Nova and Turing.
