Reality Check

RC didn't care much when the CMC were tossing around ideas and explanations, since he didn't feel very interested in listening to it in the first place. Though when Skylight brought when to head back, they thought back to when they were talking to Starlight. "I... think she said to meet her after we got the book right?" Scootaloo asked. "Ah I think so, I don't remember telling us when exactly when we have to head back and meet her." Apple Bloom added. "In that case, let's head back right now. We just read through the whole thing after all and we agreed to see her about how to do the spell right?" Reality suggested. "If we wanna ask her about that, I'd say now might be the best time."

"I wouldn't be surprised if earth pony magic is dormant at the moment or something." Reality shook his head. "The fact that we don't know what that sort of magic could do could also be another reason why." As soon as Plum brought up the question, he could already think of several reasons why that was the case. "Propaganda, fear, rumours, discrimination..." RC listed solemnly, trying to explain why in a way Plum could understand. "It's not that hard to fall for them back then since we didn't know much about each other and were too scared to interact or get close to each other." As soon as Sunny came down and asked, he couldn't help but keep it short. "Just talking about what earth pony magic."

I see that someone's dedicated, good luck to you two then. I think I'll probably be around to watch when I got the time, since i am kinda interested to see how it goes. Also, don't be surprised if I end up sending an art piece of my own every now and then, inspiration might hit at anytime after all

Reaching their location didn't take long at all, only a few blocks aways from the castle. The five of them soon reached Skylight's room, digressing that his parents aren't at home. Once inside, they took a look inside the book and what kind of information it contains. Needless to say, it had a lot of information about magic, almost enough that RC wanted to just look away because of how dense the info is. After reading through the whole book and Sweetie made the connection about one of the chapters talking about RC's magic, it was easy for him to see why. "I mean, it does kinda sound similar to how I do my magic. In fact, some parts sounds it applies to how the spell works." Reality spoke. "Parts like 'converted to information' sounds like when I spawn and retract them out and 'to be displayed' is like when I let them roam and interact." "What about the part about using magic to store information though? Do you think it has something to your talent Skylight, like when you made that abacus?"

"Well..." RC thinks for a minute, remembering that he has a place other than the dorms he can stay in as well. "I actually don't have to stay in the dorms either. I have a brother that lives here and I'm thinking about staying at his place during my semester here in the School of Friendship." Reality explained as he shook his head. "If I'm being honest, my brother doesn't mind what I do with my time, so long as I don't disturb him or not come back for a long time." RC affirmed. "So I'm ok with doing it at your place as well, just as long as I don't stay longer than I need to."

"From what I can imagine, they're either going to reform it so it helps all pony races, or it'll get a lot of backlash for the propaganda it made in the past." Reality thought out loud, "Though that depends on what they do now that unicorns and pegasi are welcomed in Maretime Bay." He then took another bite of his pancakes before thinking about how ponies will adapt to having other pony races around, especially earth ponies as they've been living in Maretime Bay for as long as they can remember. When Plum's family brought up the possibility that earth ponies might have magic, RC wondered about what could they have if that was the case. From what he can tell, earth ponies don't have magic, not even before magic disappeared. There was no record of their race being able to use any form of magic, let alone any indication of such. "Who knows? From what I can remember, earth ponies didn't have magic in the past. Guess we won't know until we see it for ourselves."

Reality wasn't surprised in the slightest that the changeling changed voices, not even batting an eye to when she mimicked the words she heard. "Yeah... no problem." He muttered, after calming down from his internal anger. After Sweetie let the two creatures talk again and them jinxing each other, RC couldn't help but rolls his eyes and smile a little. After Skylight grabbed the book they were looking for, he turned his attention to it. "We should read this in our dorms. Or at least, one of our dorms." Reality suggested. "That way we can also try out this magic out without others disturbing us."

Gemini and Spark were still trying to yell, even though their lips are sealed by Sweetie Belle's magic. The two also glared at Reality and the changeling, silently asking the same question Spark yelled at Skylight to the both of them. As much as Reality didn't exactly appreciate the fact that he was pushed into explaining, he begrudgingly explained to the two of them about what he wants. "Sorry, but can you two move aside so we can get the book that's right behind you both? 'Cause my patience is dwindling already from you two and I'd much rather be done that trying any further to you two from bickering." Reality said in an annoyed tone, glaring them in return. The changeling, however, was slightly more hesitant. She was feeling more guilty than annoyed, but she tried and explain to them about what happened earlier. "... and um, I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I-I didn't mean to say anything about one species being better than the other at running the school so... please stop arguing with each other." The changeling said timidly.

Walking up to the others, he saw their attempts to get behind them and retrieve the book they're looking for, including Skylight dropping his papers once again. Reality tried walking up to them and asking them to move aside, though that was drowned out by their constant shouting. He even tried looking past them, but still couldn't see where the book is. Apple Bloom and the other CMC also heard the changeling said she blames herself for the two arguing. "Hey, if you didn't mean it, then there's no reason to blame yourself about it." Apple Bloom affirmed, hoping to at least reassure her. Feeling that there isn't any way to get them to stop arguing and that he was beginning to feel a bit agitated, Reality whispered to the others about what to next. "Aight, I've got two options in mind. Either we somehow get them to stop or we move them entirely with our magic, because I'm getting the feeling that we won't be able to get them to stop given how loud they are being."

"... Convenient but okay." Reality muttered when Skylight picked up Starlight's note. He was ready to speak up when the changeling explained where the book was, which was behind the two others that were arguing. The CMC were also there watching Gemini and Spark, while trying to get past them to look for the book or get them to stop arguing. "Aight then..." Reality said with an eyebrow raised. "Thanks uh..."

It didn't take long before all of them reached the castle. Once they all reached the library, they looked for the notes, but there are a lot of books all around, so it was naturally going to take a while, even for five ponies. Reality looked at a few of them when he suddenly heard Skylight yelling behind him. He immediately turned and saw him with a changeling beside him. The changeling didn't look like she was going to hurt him. In fact, she looks startled by Skylight's reaction. Though he also noticed the papers on the floor, which was enough for him to make a guess what just happened. Knowing that scanning the shelves for the notes will take a lot of time, he went up to Skylight and the changeling regarding his thoughts and about what just happened. "Is everything all right?" Reality asked.

As soon as Starlight finished speaking, she teleported away along with several papers. All five of them were a bit confused at first, none of them were sure what to say after Starlight just left them with a task without much of an explanation on what his and Skylight's cutie mark could mean, let along the spell they wanted to ask about. They all looked at each other before someone spoke up. "So... I guess we're going to Twilight's castle then?" Apple Bloom questioned. "I guess so." Scootaloo answered, right before they all got up and left Starlight's office. As they were walking, Reality couldn't help but think about the tablet that Starlight had before she left. It didn't seem like something you'd see in a store, let alone something that he's ever seen before. "Hey Skylight?" Reality looked to him. "About that tablet Starlight was holding, where do you think she got it from?"

After he washed his face, he adjusted his hat before heading down and instinctively followed the smell, thinking it would leading him to the kitchen. Once he and the others was downstairs, they saw Plum's family making breakfast for them. Reality noticed that they have some appliances that he rarely saw in Bridlewood, particularly since the place was located in a forest and not a lot of unicorns want to risk causing a forest fire. Soon after the table was set and Mirabelle greeted them, they all sat around the table, grabbing pancakes and other condiments. Reality went with some berries and jam to go along with his pancakes, as well as a cup of tea. He could help but enjoy the taste as he quietly ate, hoping not to disturb any of them. As soon as he heard Plum's father asking, he swallowed the food in his mouth before speaking. "I originally came here to look for Izzy, an old friend on mine. She left before magic was restored and when it did, I figured it'd be a good time to come look for her" Reality answered. "I did reunite with her when I got here, soon after I met Plum and the others. After that, I just wanted to stay for a while, see what it's like outside of Bridlewood."

"It's called commissions. It's essentially what I do to make a living, though it'd call it more of a hobby honestly." Reality responded. "You're not exactly wrong. If anything, some ponies sorta come to me if they wanna something drawn. Sometimes it's for a memorable moment or they just want something to hang on their wall." As soon as he heard he comment about breaking toilets, his ears and expression drooped in un-amusement. "I'm not even gonna asking." He commented before leaving for the bathroom. He followed Plum's directions and found the place he was looking for. Reality hanged his hat on one of the racks as he turned on the sink and washed his face. It didn't take long for him to feel more awake after feeling water splash on his face.

The five ponies looked at each other before Sweetie Belle spoke for them. "Skylight and Reality are have some cutie mark problems and I suggested that they should ask you and Twilight." Sweetie answered. "And also about that spell I asked if you could apply to me." As they all talked, they sat down on the couch in front of Starlight's desk. As soon as they sat down, Reality then explained the rest. "Skylight and I were wondering what our cutie marks could mean. Professor Pinkie overheard us and suggested we go to the cutie mark crusaders. As for the rest, it's just as Sweetie Belle explained." While they all began talking, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo looked at each other, as they were still trying to catch up on what they are talking about.

"Um, no? I have used magic on my drawings itself, but not using magic itself to draw. It never really crossed my mind before." Reality answered, tilting his head up. "If anything, I usually prefer to do it the old-fashioned way because of how simple and I'm used to it. But even so, I'm not sure how or where to start." After hearing Sweetie Belle solution, Reality thought about it for a little before nodding. "That doesn't sound like a bad idea. From what I've heard, they're pretty good at magic, so it wouldn't surprise me if they knew a thing or two about our problems." He replied before turning to Skylight. "Plus I'm kinda curious about the whole 'using this spell extensively' part."

When the Cutie Mark Crusaders introduced themselves and they did the same, Reality was just sitting down and listening to their conversation, not saying a single thing to interrupt them. Skylight began explaining how he got his cutie mark, about how he got it by making an abacus out of magic. Hearing that caught Reality's interest as it didn't sound too different from his own ability to pop out his own drawings. After Skylight shared his backstory and a few hobbies, it was his turn to share. "Well, it began when I was heading back from my old school. Back then, I still had a knack of drawing, though I didn't really show it at the time. I decided I wanted to make something for my family, so I went and got myself a sketchbook and began drawing. After I was done with it, I showed it to my parents and they were pretty happy. I was happy that they liked it and... well, that's when my cutie mark." "Well aside from drawing, I usually spent time alone trying out magic or going out and playing a few games, whether it'd be alone or with a few others. Aside from that, I... don't really have a lot of hobbies." Reality answered as best as he can.

As soon as they saw Pinkie trying to get their attention, Skylight and Reality looked at each other for a few seconds before following her. They continued following until they reached what looks like a buckball field, where it's mostly empty with no ponies or creatures in sight. In the middle of the field, there were Pinkie Pie and three small fillies, one earth pony, one unicorn, and one pegasus. Guessing from what Reality remembered about their professor's words, he presumed that the fillies are the Cutie Mark Crusaders. While Reality did think that the CMC could help if Pinkie recommended them, he didn't expect them to be younger than him.

Reality just grumbles a bit as he stood up from his position. Using his magic, he quickly rolled and zipped the sleeping bag and threw his hat on his head. "Well, technology didn't exactly exist back in Bridlewood either, though even without it, I'm not used to waking up early in the morning." He said. "If anything, sometimes I just feel compelled to sleep in after staying overnight drawing for other ponies." Reality blew his bangs aside as he left the room, though not before asking Plum before he left. "Oh and is there a place I can wash my face?"

Reality woke up from Plum's poking and sunshine, with his hat still on his chest. As soon as he opened his eyes, the first thing that hit him was the smell of pancakes from the kitchen. The smell managed to snap him out of his unconscious state, though he's still groggy since he's not used to waking up early in the morning. "Mmmmh... hey Plum." He said tiredly, stretching his body inside the sleeping bag. Soon enough, Reality got out of his sleeping bag and sat up, rubbing his eyes with his hooves. He still had his hat in front of him, but he's feeling too lazy to put it on. "Uh... might I ask what time is it...?" Reality questioned.

Ok, I'll just come out and say it, I'm a yu-gi-oh duelist For those who don't know, yu-gi-oh, or duel monsters, is a children's card game by Konami where people duel against one another with monsters, spells, and traps. It was an interest I picked up from being part of the rift and played with others, and boy did I have a fun time duelling others

Reality snickered quietly at Rainbow Dash's last line before leaving the class room. Soon after they left, Skylight asked him the same question after they left Applejack's class. "To be honest, almost the same as before. I don't know what to think about it just yet." Reality answered. "I know it's... probably gonna get repetitive, but I don't really like to give an answer without having a solid opinion on it. Still, the obstacle course was pretty fun though." They had to walk for a while as the classroom they're looking for is, since it's on the other side of the school. When they reached the inside, they saw Rarity wearing what appears to be a teacher's outfit with reading glasses. Not to mention it looked like she had several items prepared on her desk, probably for this class' upcoming activity.
