  1. Ok, I got several issues with this episode. First off, I'm absolutely ok with Flim and Flam's introduction. Their song and introduction make it relatively clear what kind of characters they are, bad guy business people. Their songs fine for me as well, especially with the whole barber shop trio vibes. Another thing I think is interesting is their invention, the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy. From what I can see, the machine obviously has flaws. One of which is recognizing the apple's quality, where it seems like it judge them by face value. So I'd imagine the stuff the machine makes is like cheap beer while the Apple family's cider is like fine wine. As for the flaws... well, there are several. Some include Rainbow's 'addiction' to the Apple family cider, Flim and Flam constantly stealing other's customers The fact that Applejack said 'I didn't learn anything! I was right all along!' just pisses me off hardcore. It doesn't show her learning anything, it just shows she's perfectly fine with being stagnant, which is something you absolutely DO NOT do with a character. In fact, the Apple family only won because Flim and Flam were pressured into disregarding quality when Twilight and her friends came to help, causing the ponies to hate it. In other words, the Apple family only won by unfair means I don't like this episode. The Flim Flam brothers, music, and animations were fine, but everything else could've been way better. But the biggest problem is the moral, which, for real, was ambiguous at best. If we're supposed to learn that conning and monopolies are bad, they did not do a good job at it. So yeah, if you wanna see the Apple family at they're best, this episode is definitely not for you
  2. RC and the others looked to Skylight as he started leading them across Ponyville. Usually he's able to recognize places that stick out more that the others, such as the town hall, castle of friendship, and bowling alley. Though places that blend with the surrounding are a bit easy to forget for him. When Skylight asked if they had any question, Reality just shook his head, along with the changeling. Though the kirin did have a question in mind. "I have one," She started, "What's a ritz?"
  3. After everyone left for the lighthouse and Sunny brought out the blueprints, RC noted that they looked a bit different. For one, the blueprints showed the roof of the lighthouse being made of complete glass, yet there was already a roof made of mostly metal amongst the piles of rubble. Another is the rainbow beam coming out of the top, which Reality though is rather odd for a lighthouse to have. That's when Sunny read the title that explains why that is. "We could, though we should also get some new parts as well. I don't think we can make the entire exterior with just the old part." Reality suggested.
  4. Nothing wrong with that, people can dress however they want
  5. Feeling a bit nostalgic and remembering how much I interacted with the people here before I moved on to a new group of people
  6. This place will always be in my memory. Even though I won't be visiting as much as I used to before I became a digital artist and a member of the rift cafe, I'll always remember it as the starting line to my time in the MLP fandom
  7. RC felt slightly better after the dragon left, though he can't help but feel a pit in his stomach when they did. He can't exactly place why, but it's something that he feels inside nonetheless. When the kirin suggested showing them around Ponyville and Skylight volunteered to do so, he didn't hesitate to get to know his surrounding better. "Sure, I wouldn't mind a tour around." Reality said. "That and I'm pretty sure I have to since I'm gonna be staying here for a long while." RC then turned to the kirin and changeling, who he didn't care that they gave him filly eyes. "Also you know you don't have to give me that look to come along right? All you have to do is ask. Plus I'm not from here so I wouldn't even know where to begin." RC replied. "So... where should we start?"
  8. I wanna vent out my thoughts about the episode, so... here we are I'll start off by saying this episode definitely has the best use for the concept of a dream. If you're a Luna fan, then you're obviously gonna love this episode as she's the center of the whole plot. The writers even expanded on the very idea of a dream, where you can basically become whatever you want and that what you dream can represent your personality. In fact, a lot of ponies - notably Big Mac and Fluttershy - show a new side of them through their representation of what they dream of. Unfortunately, there's also that this episode was controversial, and for good reason. Simply put, if you're not a Luna fan, then you're less than likely to like the episode. The main lesson of this episode was self-forgiveness, but there were a lot of things about in that went against its favor. Though if there's one that stick out in my mind, it's the Tantabus itself. The reasons as to why it exist is highly questionable and Luna's explanation did not make sense in the slightest. Self-tormenting can be something that a victim of guilt could do, but this feels like they took it way too far. This episode is highly controversial, there's no doubt about it. Aside from the animation and music, the story made no sense whatsoever and hindered from showing the message. It's unfortunate that it garnered a lot of debate from fans of the show, but there's definitely reasons from both sides they think so
  9. As they left the formerly-crowded amphitheater, they looked through the lists of tasks. Needless to say, there are a lot of tasks with various differences. Some of them even look like they were written by the teachers themselves. "Heh, yeah I think we both have an idea on a lot of them." RC smiles, when they got to tasks like 'fly stunts together' and 'bake something together'. When Skylight and Reality heard someone copy them, they both turned to see the creatures of different races. None of them appear students, yet a lot of them looks as if they were following the dragon that's in front of them. As soon as RC heard them talk, he immediately didn't like them. RC hated pompous creatures, he always has. He's not afraid to let out a little anger, yet when it becomes too much for him, he tends to hide it. After a while of listening to them, RC ripped his the top of his list a little. Immediately, he turned to Skylight, trying to keep a straight face. "Hey Skylight? We should just leave. We have tasks to do after all." Reality said, wanting to get out of there before a red storm cloud can appear on his head.
  10. As soon as he saw Skylight waving at him, RC immediately when up to them and took a seat next to each other. Once everyone sat down in silence, Twilight, who arrived not too long after, began speaking. She explained the latest project and how everyone will be heading around Ponyville completing tasks, almost like a scavenger hunt or role play on a much larger scale. Though the fact that they're objective is to interact and help ponies does make RC wonder about a few things. At the end of Twilight's speech, everyone have gave a round of applause before heading on stage and receiving a list for students to look through. One which provided them with options on where to start first. "Same, I definitely didn't expect something this big from this school, let alone of any kind." Reality responded. before following him on stage. It was a long line towards the stage since many students were heading there at the same time, but after a bit of patience, they both got to the stage and got a list of tasks they could go through. "Maybe we should read this on our way out? It could save us time."
  11. Updated my reference sheet, here's the new info regarding my OC
  12. "Right, we should head back and rest for the day." RC responded. When Starlight told them that Twilight wanted their class (not because someone is in trouble), he was admittedly somewhat curious, but noted it nonetheless. "Aight then, bye Starlight; Night Skylight." He said before leaving for his brother's place. Next morning, Reality reached the amphitheater, just like Counsellor Starlight told them. Just as he got inside, RC immediately noticed the place was pretty crowded. It wasn't exactly easy to find his friend among all the other creatures in the crowd, but he wandered around, hoping to find, or at least, bump into Skylight.
  13. "Right, the lighthouse." RC thought out loud. He then proceeds to finish his pancakes with a few more bites. "We should go do that, though do we have anything like blueprints to help us with re-buliding it?" (Couldn't think of much to type, sorry)
  14. Nice... I kinda get the color part, not exactly an easy thing to do.
  15. After hearing Starlight explain, RC lit up his horn just as the other unicorns did. As instructed, he charged up as much magic as he could to his horn. Thankfully, since he had practice with his kind of magic, he has a bit of endurance when charging his magic. Even still, Reality had a bit of a hard time charging more magic than he usually does, almost getting the feeling that the magic would be ripped out of him as well. Fortunately, just when RC felt like he was gonna reach his limit, the spell was done and tablets was formed, one for each of them. He stared at it; fascinated by it as it was never like anything he's ever spawned before. Skylight thanked Starlight for teaching them while Sweetie is was jumping with glee. "Honestly, now that you brought it up, it does kinda look like my cutie mark..." RC pointed out. "Still though, I think I can imagine that maybe this'll come in use every now and then."
  16. RC didn't care much when the CMC were tossing around ideas and explanations, since he didn't feel very interested in listening to it in the first place. Though when Skylight brought when to head back, they thought back to when they were talking to Starlight. "I... think she said to meet her after we got the book right?" Scootaloo asked. "Ah I think so, I don't remember telling us when exactly when we have to head back and meet her." Apple Bloom added. "In that case, let's head back right now. We just read through the whole thing after all and we agreed to see her about how to do the spell right?" Reality suggested. "If we wanna ask her about that, I'd say now might be the best time."
  17. "I wouldn't be surprised if earth pony magic is dormant at the moment or something." Reality shook his head. "The fact that we don't know what that sort of magic could do could also be another reason why." As soon as Plum brought up the question, he could already think of several reasons why that was the case. "Propaganda, fear, rumours, discrimination..." RC listed solemnly, trying to explain why in a way Plum could understand. "It's not that hard to fall for them back then since we didn't know much about each other and were too scared to interact or get close to each other." As soon as Sunny came down and asked, he couldn't help but keep it short. "Just talking about what earth pony magic."
  18. I see that someone's dedicated, good luck to you two then. I think I'll probably be around to watch when I got the time, since i am kinda interested to see how it goes. Also, don't be surprised if I end up sending an art piece of my own every now and then, inspiration might hit at anytime after all
  19. Reaching their location didn't take long at all, only a few blocks aways from the castle. The five of them soon reached Skylight's room, digressing that his parents aren't at home. Once inside, they took a look inside the book and what kind of information it contains. Needless to say, it had a lot of information about magic, almost enough that RC wanted to just look away because of how dense the info is. After reading through the whole book and Sweetie made the connection about one of the chapters talking about RC's magic, it was easy for him to see why. "I mean, it does kinda sound similar to how I do my magic. In fact, some parts sounds it applies to how the spell works." Reality spoke. "Parts like 'converted to information' sounds like when I spawn and retract them out and 'to be displayed' is like when I let them roam and interact." "What about the part about using magic to store information though? Do you think it has something to your talent Skylight, like when you made that abacus?"
  20. "Well..." RC thinks for a minute, remembering that he has a place other than the dorms he can stay in as well. "I actually don't have to stay in the dorms either. I have a brother that lives here and I'm thinking about staying at his place during my semester here in the School of Friendship." Reality explained as he shook his head. "If I'm being honest, my brother doesn't mind what I do with my time, so long as I don't disturb him or not come back for a long time." RC affirmed. "So I'm ok with doing it at your place as well, just as long as I don't stay longer than I need to."
  21. "From what I can imagine, they're either going to reform it so it helps all pony races, or it'll get a lot of backlash for the propaganda it made in the past." Reality thought out loud, "Though that depends on what they do now that unicorns and pegasi are welcomed in Maretime Bay." He then took another bite of his pancakes before thinking about how ponies will adapt to having other pony races around, especially earth ponies as they've been living in Maretime Bay for as long as they can remember. When Plum's family brought up the possibility that earth ponies might have magic, RC wondered about what could they have if that was the case. From what he can tell, earth ponies don't have magic, not even before magic disappeared. There was no record of their race being able to use any form of magic, let alone any indication of such. "Who knows? From what I can remember, earth ponies didn't have magic in the past. Guess we won't know until we see it for ourselves."
  22. Reality wasn't surprised in the slightest that the changeling changed voices, not even batting an eye to when she mimicked the words she heard. "Yeah... no problem." He muttered, after calming down from his internal anger. After Sweetie let the two creatures talk again and them jinxing each other, RC couldn't help but rolls his eyes and smile a little. After Skylight grabbed the book they were looking for, he turned his attention to it. "We should read this in our dorms. Or at least, one of our dorms." Reality suggested. "That way we can also try out this magic out without others disturbing us."
  23. Gemini and Spark were still trying to yell, even though their lips are sealed by Sweetie Belle's magic. The two also glared at Reality and the changeling, silently asking the same question Spark yelled at Skylight to the both of them. As much as Reality didn't exactly appreciate the fact that he was pushed into explaining, he begrudgingly explained to the two of them about what he wants. "Sorry, but can you two move aside so we can get the book that's right behind you both? 'Cause my patience is dwindling already from you two and I'd much rather be done that trying any further to you two from bickering." Reality said in an annoyed tone, glaring them in return. The changeling, however, was slightly more hesitant. She was feeling more guilty than annoyed, but she tried and explain to them about what happened earlier. "... and um, I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I-I didn't mean to say anything about one species being better than the other at running the school so... please stop arguing with each other." The changeling said timidly.
