Neither of those cons seem to get VAs. Perhaps next year. Tara Strong and Andrea Libman are going to be at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto this summer so anyone who wants to see them in Ontario you can surely check that out.
Especially for Tara Strong, because I know she refuses to go to any brony convention now due to the incident with that one convention (I forgot the name). Unless shes changed her mind about it.

No plans for an official BronyCAN attendance there as of yet, but it's something we could discuss next meeting to see if it can happen. Silvershock plans to be there at the least.
It would be neat. Last year I went for one day and I got a lot out of it in terms of ponyness I think it would be cool. They're really chill (A lot of their staff works with Anime Evolution and Sakura-Con).
-
Just out of curiosity, will you guys be also advertising/hosting a panel at Cos & Effect 2013 at UBC in Vancouver? I plan on going to that convention and I heard a huge brony outcome is expected from all over the west coast.
-
At first I thought the idea of a traveling convention would be cool, but after a while of realizing how much money that would cost, it would be ridiculous expensive.
I don't mean to sound selfish as well, but I am really glad BronyCAN is staying in the Vancouver area.
-
My friend gots a room for five, and if for some weird reason one of them can't go I will keep you guys posted because we would like to cut down the cost as much as we can.

Are you the Rainbow Dash? Also I saw the video of the Applejack cosplay in the Vancouver Brony Facebook Group Pretty damn epic.

Should I just say "NostalgicPony and the Chilliwack Brony Group" or just "NostalgicPony"? Are the other members of the group members here?
Just put my name down as NostalgicPony as per the forum username. I'm just putting the extra on my badge just to show some form of representation. And no, the four other people going with me are not on this forum.
Offtopic Note: I was just curious, but is anyone also going to Cos & Effect at UBC in Vancouver?
-
I am going! Got my badge a month ago. Going with four other people from the Chilliwack-Abbotsford area. We have a room booked for two nights at the Executive Suites We plan on heading out Friday and leaving Sunday after its over
My badge will have my username from here on it along with my scribbling on " Head Coordinator of the Chilliwack Brony Group "

By the way, what does "pansexual" mean?
Pansexuality where someone who does not find a person sexually attractive based on gender and or identity. They would be either gender neutral or gender blind depending on their view, although it could be something different. They usually are attracted to the person's personality and traits rather then the physical aspect (gender).

But who else will be going? Can we arrange a full MLP Forums meetup there possibly? Perhaps make a thread for that?
I was thinking about that as well. A MLP Forums meetup thread for BronyCAN sounds legitimate. There seems to be a lot of interest in this convention.

Seattle has a large brony presence (a lot like Vancouver, BC but I think it's larger)
They have a large meetup page that you can check out and see the events that are going on if you're interested. I'm not a Seattle brony but I used to live in that area and have been to brony panels at Sakura-Con there.

Just a suggestion.

How to make friends is entirely subjective because each one of us have different ways of associating with people and establishing relationships with each other. For me, its as easy as adding me as a friend! (That is why I have it open) and having people PM me to start a conversation up because I love it when people talk to me!
As for others, it depends. Helping others/offering opinion, engaging in roleplays, commenting/just talking to people with similar interests, etc.

Glad to hear you're going to BronyCAN Feld0! Seems like the cons are going to keep you busy this Summer. It's going to be a great meetup for all of us that can make it haha
Edit: Maybe we should create a big Skype group to discuss meetup matters? Just a thought.

Mmmm chicken.

I was formally in a relationship for a year and a half to a good friend of mine, but due to personal reasons and realizing who I was as I progressed, it did not go well and eventually I had to break it up. I hold nothing against my ex for that.
I am single by choice, but because of personal preference for relationships, it may be a while until I can work something out, but right now I'm just trying to get a job and finish school and relationships are not my number one priority right now.

I heard some of the staff at BronyCAN is trying to get Weird Al, (since hes a brony and all) to come to the convention.. is that true Senn?
-
Well, attending a brony convention is just going to cost the same as going to any fan convention.
For you it is a little unfortunate that you may be paying a little more than $1000 just for a weekend. Since you're planning on flying there by plane itself will cost you a good portion of your stay (the hotel is 2nd in line) but here is a few suggestions I can make just from earlier experience at conventions:
- Find a cheap flight, even if its still a little pricy, it is always nice to find the most inexpensive alternative you could get.
- When finding a hotel, finding one with complementary shuttle service is always good because it saves you money paying for a taxi to get to your hotel (If you have a friend that you know in the area whose going you could always ask to see if they will offer you a ride).
- For hotels, it will be your 2nd large cost of conventions. I highly advise you to find someone who is going to be willing to share a room. It splits costs and it's great. You can find lots of people advertising their rooms around message boards and such, even here on MLP Forums!
- Of course taking the plane may cause some obstruction, but not much, but try to pack as much food as you can. Convention food is very expensive and going out for food is as well.
- Lastly, you're going to want to bring spending money, depending on your wants and such, bring what you need. At least a minimum of $150 because there will be things there you would probably want Otherwise, use the good ol' card.

I live closer to it than Feld0 actually (marginally) but that in mind, yeah, I would like to see him there. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long for a BC pony con to happen since so much of the show's production occurs out here.
One was attempted on Victoria last year with only an attendance of a little under 100, but it was in competition with the first Everfree NW in Seattle so a lot of BC Bronies went there instead, it also had quite a lot of guests, if not more than what BronyCon had in 2012.
Also another thing I should mention, print the receipt of your ticket when you go to get your ticket.
-
I think it would neat for Feld0 to make an appearance. I mean it is in his area and is the first time a brony convention will occur in British Columbia. However, his goal right now is to go to BronyCon, which is a few weeks before BronyCAN, so it may be a bit overwhelming for him to go there, but who knows.

Alright, cool. Thanks.
I'll see everybody there.
If you happen to spot me, feel free to tag along (or ask me to come along with your group) since I'll probably be on my own (not a whole lot of brony friends out here currently).
I will be going with five (4 from my town and one from Abbotsford) and some of plan on splitting up (I'm usually on the go with cons) But we need to have a MLPForums meetup!

So I didn't think about it when I ordered, but my already-default address on my PayPal account is an old one (specifically my parents address which is...on the other side of Canada).
I sent an e-mail and promptly changed the address on my PayPal.
But I just got thinking...does anything actually get sent? Or is it just a matter of showing up at the convention with ID to pick up my pass?
I had the same question about verifying yourself at the door to get your ticket. It's actually simple! I emailed them and asked and they said all you need to do is show ID.

I enjoy Jazz It's relaxing and meditative to me, it's also stuff I listen to when I'm driving home at night. Also music I can just put on just to have some company when I'm alone.

I suppose you could call that pansexual but then again sometimes I refute that idea, because I'm talking about emotional attraction not sexual attraction. So I don't know, really...
You can be Pansexual and not be sexually attracted to anyone. You can still have romantic/emotional relationships with anyone regardless of their gender, because that is not the key point in why you choose to have those relationships.

Awesome to hear that!
As for myself, I don't really have a place to stay, and would be by myself. So I wouldn't mind sharing a room or something with someone. If anyone wants to do that.
I'd say sure, but I don't think the hotel would really appreciate it However, if for some reason one of our buds drops out I can see if we can arrange something.
BronyCAN Meetup Thread
in BronyCAN
There gots to be a MLPForums/Poniverse panel thing going on BronyCAN, it only makes sense.
